Angela(demonsangel) Fitzgerald (demonsangel) | 74 comments I'm reading Bayou Moon (Edge, #2) by Ilona Andrews at the moment.

I'm doing some rereading also. I'm currently on the third book of the Vampire Academy series and then I will start the Bloodlines series. I have The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines, #4) by Richelle Mead so that's why I'm rereading, to refresh my memory.

I'm rereading The Hollows by Kim Harrison. I'm reading
A Fistful of Charms (The Hollows, #4) by Kim Harrison

I'm so excited about the 3rd book of the Angel series being released on Audible the 26th of November. I'm getting ready to re- listen to Angel Burn (Angel, #1) by L.A. Weatherly Angel Fire (Angel, #2) by L.A. Weatherly , and the the third book, I've preordered it, Angel Fever (Angel, #3) by L.A. Weatherly For you audio fans, this is a wonderful series. I really loved the first two books by L.A. Weatherly or Lee Weatherly. I'm so excited to start rereading these books.

I have to admit that I have Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee and World After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2) by Susan Ee these on audio format. I didn't want to join in on the group or buddy reads until I went back and listened to Angelfall first. It's been so long that I have to refresh my mind or I will be lost. I would've joined in if not for that.

Smart move, I definitely wished I'd at least skim read the first book again before World After. Would have helped. But it was still a good read :) Now I'm reading Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano

I'm not sure about the whole Mean Girls aspect to it, but this one gives me hope (much better than the last one)

Heidi *Listen. I'll just keep talking anyway. * wrote: "I was told to skip Wither for some reason David - how are you liking it?"

Lol a few people told me to skip it and then a few told me I'd love it, so when it was on sale I went for it. 20% in and mixed so far. I could do without the excessively long description of fashion stuff (definitely not my thing), but the concept is interesting, if pretty far fetched. I'm hoping for a good twist or two or I might be disappointed!

I can actually remember sitting on my bed, turning the last page, saying "You've gotta be kidding me" and wanting to chuck that book across the room. I didn't think it had any substance at all. I have the sequels, but have been putting off reading them just because I thought so little of the first one. I'll be interested to hear what you think!

message 5265: by Jen (new)

Jen (jenwesner) | 1222 comments Angela - I also listened to World After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2) by Susan Ee . I thought the narrator ranged from so-so to I-don't-think-I-can-keep-listening-to-her.

I wish I'd read this one in print. It would have carried an entirely different tone and I probably would have given it 5 stars.

Its been a long time since I've read Wither. I remember liking it at the time, but I honestly forgot a lot of it. The sequel, Fever, was better...I think what I liked the best was how things would go off on this crazy direction that was totally unexpected...made it entertaining! I still need to read the last book, but I haven't been motivated to!

Loved Fangirl so read that if you want a nice romance -- I also enjoyed Dash & Lilly but not as much as Fangirl but it is a nice holiday themed read.

Finished reading Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and I enjoyed it, gave it 4 stars. I really felt for the MCs, so it had that going for it!

Jen (jenwesner) | 1222 comments Throne of Glass it is! Thank you!

David, have you finished Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano yet?

Let me rephrase. Have you set it on fire in a rage because of the time you have wasted reading it?

OK, maybe that's a little extreme. It has been about a year since I read it.

: )

My take is that it's an okay read but it never should have been a dystopian...or if it was a dystopian, the author needed to seriously rethink the world building. I thought the story as a whole was compelling (albeit infuriating at times), but the random bits of world building that made no sense are what grated on a lot of people's nerves. But I was prepared for that going in. That being said...I'm really going to have to think hard before continuing, I would much rather finish a series like Birthmarked first, which I really enjoyed :)
