Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments It could! Luckily, my girl-friend is really into it and all I have to do is borrow her neat things... and not spend my own money. LOL!

message 52: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) That sure would be nice Lisa Kay. Unfortunately none of my friends are in to scrapbooking.

message 53: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments I'd never heard of any of those games, loved the look of Syberya, reminds me of the original Tombraider games in the graphics...

I was the same with Scrapbooking... I tried digital scrapbooking, much cheaper and there's always the "undo" button. But it's still quite time consuming cos I was teaching myself how to use Photoshop at the same time... mind you, I got some good skills out of it!

message 54: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Syberia is a great game with excellent puzzles and graphics. I enjoyed it a lot.

I also tried scrap booking with photos from my various trips to Europe and the US but it was to much like hard work and then I got a digital camera and now everything is on the computer anyway.

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments I usually do a sketch first, that way I don't waste too much and I have a pretty good idea of the end result. If you're into digital scrapbooking you can use templates or quick pages. Lots of blogs and stores give them out as freebies, just google them. They're time savers and double up as sketches for regular scrapbooking!

message 57: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Now there's an idea! Digital scrapbooking. I don't know why I've never thought of it. I don't think I've ever seen it, either.

message 58: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments I used to go by the digitalscrapbookplace.com and the free downloads over at Shabby Princess, I think I have all her sets. I don't use them to scrapbook anymore, but they come in so handy when I want to do invitations or little party favours-type stuff for the kids.

Those are good links Gisela, thanks for sharing!

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments I've downloaded many freebies from Shabby Princess. In fact here's a layout I did using the spontaneous delight collection from them. (I'm the one with eyeglasses)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments I have some stuff from Shabby Princess. Love her stuff. I never did digital scrapbooking though. I used it for my eBay auctions.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Love it, Gisela!

message 63: by Hope (new)

Hope Ramsay (goodreadscomhoperamsay) | 4 comments Gosh, reading about all those video games makes me remember how much I loved playing "story" games like Zork (in the early days) and then Myst. Those games were like reading a book in a lot of ways, and I know I'm dating myself. :) I never did like the single shooter games. Give me a good puzzle to solve!

I guess my main hobby these days is knitting, but I also enjoy getting dirty in the garden.

message 64: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Oh, goodness! LOL! I remember Myst! I think I still have my copy.

message 65: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments My dad used to be obsessed with Myst but it was too confusing for me lol. I think he's still got his copy too. Another oldie I used to love was the Oregon Trail game, especially #2 when you got to pick out all your supplies and livestock and name the people in your group and set their ages and pick your 'profession' setting out, and the year you set out, because if you picked a later year it was easier b/c by then there was more outposts and towns and forts to stop at for supplies, if you went in the earlier years there was hardly anywhere civilized to stop. Lol! I still have my copy of that, played it a couple of times on my laptop before it keeled over. :)

message 66: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Love Oregon Trail romance books; always wanted to play that game...

message 67: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments It's fun! You could probably score a copy cheap online

message 68: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Probably!

Laura (lglovett) I am back from my California trip. I had tons of fun but missed Goodreads. I didn't get much reading done.

I love Oregon Trail and I remember playing Myst too. I think you can still find Oregon Trail for purchase online.

I will have to check out the digital scrapbooking stuff.

Sandy (sandykuro) | 43 comments I like to watch Asain dramas. Mostly, but not exclusively, romantic comedies from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Thailand.

I do too!!!! My families all hate subtitled movies, but I am in love with them. I like Bollywood movies too.

My favorite Asian Romantic Drama is Innocent Steps. If you haven't seen it, you should watch it. I thought it was fabulous.

message 74: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Really, Laura? I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

message 75: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) Its really good. Your welcome. If you end up watching it you will have to tell me what you think.

message 76: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Will do!

message 77: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Though, I'm not watching much T.V. right now, not even the Olympics - as my set is under a tarp during my remodel. LOL!

message 78: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) LOL! I seem to be recommending several things that require a TV. You will have lots to do though, once it is all done.

message 79: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I will! I'll have to catch up with the real world.

message 80: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Ah Myst! I still remember trying to wrap my head around those puzzles.

I watch so little of tv and movies. That's a neat thing to watch.

Lol, school was my introduction to it, in 5th grade our social studies teacher put us in groups and we had to play when we were learning about the real Oregon Trail, that's where I fell in love with it and begged my grandma to buy me my copy afterwards. Lol @ everyone dying of dysentery though! :D

message 83: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) I seemed to have a problem with snake bites. I don't remember if I ever made it all the way through.

message 86: by Bobbie (new)

Bobbie Hi Im Bobbie and Im new. I love to make bookmarks
I made these for another group and I have sent to: All over the US, Mexico, UK, Canada, Australia, Philippines, Ireland & Pakistan for free.

These ones I sold on the side but only a few

message 87: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) Nice book marks. I personally don't think I could ever read the Shade series. I am just not into erotica.

message 88: by Bobbie (new)

Bobbie I've made them for a few other series but lately this one is a bit popular, I've sent out about 500 bookmarks. I really enjoyed this series, all the hype is just that.... Hype. There are many series that are more erotic than 50.

message 89: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) I like my romance novels with not many sex scenes, if any at all, but sometimes I will read a book and just skip the sex scenes.

message 90: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 361 comments I've done the same thing. Sometimes I just want to get on with the story, and a three or four (or five or six, etc) page sex scene makes me want to roll my eyes and move on. I tend to steer clear of erotica for that reason.

message 91: by Bobbie (new)

Bobbie And sometimes I've done the opisite and skipped over the fluff and got right to the juice.

message 93: by Bobbie (new)

Bobbie Thank you Lisa Kay

Lina | 5563 comments Bobbie wrote: "And sometimes I've done the opposite and skipped over the fluff and got right to the juice."

ROFLMAO!!!! Love it Bobbie!!!

I have to admit I've done both, and it all depends on my mood. Sometimes the sex is central to the story, and I'm ok with that if that's what I'm in the mood for... and sometimes I'm so caught up in the plot that I skip over the sex scenes because I want to get back to the other type of action :-) I'm just a moody reader.

Moon Geun Young is totally adorable in that movie! You should check her out in My little Bride. It's much lighter and just a fun romcom, but still cute. I have been waiting for the Japanese movie Mitsuko Delivers. It was at a bunch of film festivals and looks cute. I mostly like fun romcoms and oddly enough martial arts action adventure movies too. You should check out Chilling Romance from Korea. Funny and spooky. :)

It's funny, I rarely turn on my TV at all. When I have a little time and don't want to read I hop on my computer and watch a drama or movie from Asia. Plus, it's kind of like reading a book too - hee hee gotta love subtitles :D

I can NEVER skim or skip when I read - it freaks me out that I will miss something. Retarded I know. I read all kinds, from the no sex, to the fade away, to the full monty lol (and you'd be surprised what you can get from the library lol). As long as I am enjoying the book it doesn't really matter to me if there is sex or not. I didn't like 50 shades, but not b/c of the sex but because I didn't think it was well written, it didn't flow smoothly, and the characters were a bit annoying on all fronts (only read the 1st one so perhaps they get better).

message 99: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Sandy, I don't skim or skip either. If I find myself wanting to do that, I'd just as soon put the book down and try to come back to it later to see if it would hold my attention.

message 100: by Sandra J (last edited Aug 19, 2012 12:18PM) (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 361 comments I just spent a wonderful three and a half days immersed in the world of beads at Bead Fest Philadelphia. I took two classes, bought a new, not yet released book from the author, and bought what will probably amount to two or three years worth of seed beads. One of the area bead shops is closing so they dragged all their seed bead stock and sold it for $1/tube. I thought I was very restrained and only bought 35 tubes. Some beaders spent over $200 buying seed beads! It was lovely. Now I have to start working on the patterns I just couldn't resist!
