I read this book when I was in about 4th grade or so, so around 1999-2000. From what I can remember, it was about a colony of anthropomorphic rabbit creatures that lived in a snowy region. Their homes, if I remember correctly, were built into the hills. They carried walking sticks that they called "pikes" (this sticks with me for some odd reason) and there was some sort of political undertone to the story, but I fail to remember it. Thanks in advance!

I think I saw a post on here looking for a similar book. I'll go back through and see if I can find it. Maybe its the same book!
