Kristin (kplausky) | 57 comments Question for all you ST owners out there....my MIL just bought a ST this afternoon. I tried to transfer some of the EPUBS I have on my computer (that work on my first gen nook), but her nook says its an unsupported format. What am I doing wrong?

Kristin (kplausky) | 57 comments NM, it seemed to have corrected itself....maybe it needed a few minutes?

Missyb | 221 comments The ST is a nice easy machine to use, but a pain in the butt to delete anything from it. I gues since it's very easy to find whatever you put on it, it's a trade off.

Katya | 23 comments I have the Nook Simple Touch with GL and when ever I find it difficult to add something to it...I just retrace my steps ending with the eject and it usually solves the problem.

As for deleting....I plug it in...go to the drive which says Nook on it and then just highlight the book and hit delete....and usually do eject (not sure if I have to do that or not)

Tyler (tyleralysea) | 17 comments Sometimes when I side-load EPUBS and PDFs from non-Barnes and Noble sources it'll say incorrect format, but usually I just put my nook to sleep for a minute and try to reopen it and it works. My biggest annoyance is ALWAYS after I plug my ST into my computer the Bronte sisters pop up as my screen saver for a while, even though I've removed them from everywhere I can on my nook when it's plugged into my comp. But again nothing horrible that I can't live with, just annoying.

In general, devices should be ejected before you unplug them from your computer.

Good point, why take the chance that the one time you don't that something happens & the machine or card gets ruined or you lose info.

I've managed to do that for some, but my Mom has a memory card in it and finding the books that are duplicate or don't open is a pain in the butt (about 1200 books between the memory card & the ST memory). I've also tried to rename & convert & delete some using Calibre & that worked sometimes but not always.

any device that shows up as a removable drive should be ejected first. Why take the chance. Often nothing will happen but it prob. will when you have something important on it (that bite you in the butt rule)

I haven't found Calibre works for deleting. I generally delete with ADE, which is far from perfect but does make finding the books somewhat easier.

Make sure the epub file is in the right folder. If it isn't, then make a few clicks to put the file in the right folder.
