I would want to go back in time to meet the brilliant Imhotep who designed the first pyramid structure and thus opened the door for the mechanics of construction around the world. Would we be able to build skyscrapers if he had not first designed, balanced, and angled monuments reaching towards the sky? Then I'd also get to the see how the building of pyramids and the building communities really were! Such an exciting and innovative time in ancient Egyptian history!

If anyone was interested, there is a book where the great Imhotep appears. Pauline Gedge has a trilogy called "the kings man" & the book The Twice Born (an interesting one by the way) has Imhotep as a character. He isnt a main character but the protagonist meets him...won't say anymore without giving too much away. But it is worth a read.

Probably not the most relaxing place/time to visit, seeing as though Alexander's main wish was to wage war an conquer!
But Imagine....Alexander was tutored by Aristotle. By the age of thirty, he had created one of the largest empires of the ancient world, stretching from the Ionian Sea to the Himalayas. He was undefeated in battle and is credited as being one of the best military commanders!
The man is a legend!!
But I would like to know MORE about him than the history books tell -- that would be a great reason to travel back in time!
Anyone know of books featuring him as a character (major or minor & any type of genre)? I know Mary Renault has a few....

Valerio Massimo Manfredi wrote an Alexander trilogy.

On another topic, does anyone know of any books in relation to Ancient Egyptian Proverbs? I would really love to have one in my collection.
Thank you,
I just finished one of many re-reads of Susanne Frank’s Reflections in the Nile (about an artist vacationing in Egypt who is suddenly drawn back in time into Egypt's ancient past by a strange discovery, and finds herself living the life of a 1452 B. C.).
Essentially Susanne frank has put together a time travel series from ancient Egypt to Ancient Greece etc. (would highly recommend the books)
Nevertheless, it made me think “How awesome would that be, if you could really go back in time!”
So my question to you is, if YOU could travel back in time to an ancient time period, what time period would you wish to end up?
Look forward to hearing your thoughts! :)
