KDP Select - Perhaps it is worthwhile!

Last month was my best month ever sales-wise and I had 75 borrows on top of that - most of them for Mark of the Dragon Queen which had come off a free at the end of the month before. The borrows definitely seem to count as much as sales as far as rankings go and that extra money is wonderful! That's why I'm sticking with KDP for now.
Yes, it's a shame they stopped dead this month! But Mark of the Dragon Queen is free again today and tomorrow, so hopefully that will kick start things again. I've been really lucky with KDP so far.
Select appears to be the only way I can get sales. I miss the days when B&N was my best market...but I had sales on Amazon too.Kobo doesn't appear to do much of anything. I have 'Badlands Rescue' free there, so far no takers.
'Swallow the Moon' has sold 3 copies after I gave away 3k. It appears the only way to get sales IS Select. Which is too bad. I don't want to be exclusive to Amazon forever.
Must go - I'm selling paperbacks a the Chili Cookoff.
Later!
The BBQ was incredible - as was the Chilie - I'm told because they sold out of tickets by 11:30am.I sold 1 book - "Let's Do Lunch" which means I lost $38 by going there. But I talked to a couple dozen people.
I brought a puppy with me to make sure people would stop to chat instead of walking away. LOL - you have to know how to work a non-reading population.
I sold 2 books and 2 dozen eggs at the farmer's market today. Also got a couple chapters edited.
The strange ways I sell books - first fighting with trolls then at the farmer's market.
I AM Mary Sue - LOLI have all kinds of adventures. Not that anyone would believe me if I wrote them down.

That is potentially pretty good stuff. I've only had one borrow on Select, but my sales reflect that. Would be good to hear the experience of authors enrolled in Select who have good sales on their books. Are you getting any borrows? If so do the borrows correspond in any way to 'real' sales.
