Does anyone know the title of this book?

Hi, all! I'm hoping you can help me locate a book I read back in highschool (10 to 12 years ago...)

I had the book, loaned it to a friend who moved away, and would love to buy a new copy/ebook.

I do not remember any Character names, but here is as much as I can remember of the storyline:

It starts with the main character, a male vampire returning home for his "aunt"'s death, she left him her house (which is really the house he build for his wife when they were young), and his wife died when they were still young (I'm vague on the details of how).

When he returns, he meets her children, who knows nothing of him. The man is not very happy that the house was left to our hero, his sister has some kind of magical power, and dabbles in chrystal magic. She has a crystal she wears around her neck that has a strange affect on our hero. It was planted by his enemy of many years. He meets a woman that reminds him of his wife, a gentle soul, and falls in love with her.

At some point their is a storm that ends up blowing a huge tree onto the house as they are having dinner and he saves eVeryone with his vampire speed and strength as it crushes the table.

That is about it...

I really hope one of you can help me...

Oh! The title had something to do with darkness or Night...

If you ask me it sounds awfully similar to the plot of the television show Dark Shadows, but chances are I'm wrong.

This really sounds like -Dark Shadows to me also....
