I didn't return that one, but I did return another book that I had previously given a one star review as the narration was just horrific. So far, they haven't pulled my review off the site, which is pleasantly surprising.

Perhaps they've had people returning a few too many titles?
(In case it matters: I've probably got around 75 eligible titles in my library at the moment).

I had to contact a customer service representative to return my second book. I did it online, which was very easy. I think this is their new procedure. The representative then informed me that you can only return two books in a six month period.

I agree yes I have alot of eligible books that doesn't mean I can or need to return them all. I only returned one book and that is because it was a DNF and the narrator was awful. I would never return a book I finished just because I didn't like it that's the chance you take when you buy any book.

I don't know how to initiate it. A window has popped up at the times I was trying to find out about stuff like how to return oops, or other technical issues..

When you click the book you want to return a small window will pop up offering the Audible phone number or a link to click to initiate an online chat session. Hope this works for you. This option only comes up on the second return. The first return is automatic.

In my experience, it pops up when you don't want it, but if you go to send an email, the chat window will usually come up.

I was told that if you wanted to return more than two, you had to contact customer service, so who knows.
And, sorry, I don't get the judgmental comments about returning books one finished but didn't like. If Audible is presenting the option, however limited, what possible difference can the reason make? As mentioned earlier on the thread, I have a huge library, and I appreciate the opportunity to replace books I didn't like with ones I'll appreciate as much as the 375+ I didn't return.

That's great I think that's a best case scenario right there! I wish I could have exchanged mine for a good narrator hoping that they will see all the returns and bad reviews and re-do it with better narrator!

Actually, there were statements to that effect by several people, and, indeed, I was asking for clarification. :-).
I get that it's just an opinion, and not directed personally, as my sharing of my experience was just that: my experience. I had no idea I could return books until a couple of days ago when this thread appeared.
Anyhoo, happy to retreat into my audio lurkdom again--

I have a very hard time "giving up" on books. I have 225 books in my audible library (shamefaced) and I can think of only one that I did not finish. (Incidentally, that was the other book I wanted to return).
I actually hope that this new program will give me a little more ease in letting a really bad listen go. There have been a couple of books that I've sat through because I spent the credit so I was going to get my money's worth, only to say to myself at the end that I should have rated my time more highly.

I'm guilty of saying that I wouldn't return a completed book. That's my opinion and my own approach.
I find your comment to be judgemental.

I've been lucky with my picks and only found one I even remotely wanted to return. Great narrator, but pretty bleh story. I did finish it, only because it was a book club pick and I wanted to be able to say I'd read it. Mostly I only half listened:)

You can only return books you bought within 365 days and they'll reviewing people's accounts to make sure people won't be taking advantage."
Has anyone with an Audible UK account tried this? I tried to follow the process John detailed, but there was no "eligible"link. I'll send an email to customer services but it looks like the UK miss out again.

I rarely get a dud book, but there has been a couple and it would be nice to know I can exchange if it happens again.

And I find your response to be hostile. Shall we quit now?

As the thread starter, at this point I'm mostly interested in folks' experiences with customer service, especially with multiple returns.
Thanks in advance.

I returned an Audible book before there was every a formal program. I just thought it was so horrible that they shouldn't be selling it (narration problem) and I complained and asked for a credit refund. They sent me an email right away saying "so sorry you weren't happy, we've refunded your credit; thanks for the feedback on the book." So, I think even if there's no formal UK program you can always reach out to customer service for problem books.
I imagine that this might be one of those things where the sales and contract policies for digital materials differ between the two countries, so they'll have to have different programs.

The customer service team responded to my query within a few hours, and despite having no similar returns policy to that in America, offered to refund credits for two recordings if I provided the details using the return email address along with the email trail. Their response was courteous and helpful, so I could not ask for anything more. 5 star service!

I immediately wrote to customer service explaining what happened and asking why I was charged a credit after a return, but I have received no response since the automatic "We got your message and will get back to you within one business day" email.
I'm annoyed because the book I chose to replace the returned book is one I wouldn't normally have picked, but I was willing to take a risk on it since I wouldn't have to spend my lone remaining credit. Sounds like I'm the only one who hasn't had a good experience with returns.

I try to listen to the sample audio to see if I like the narrator's voice but that doesnt help if the story is not to my liking. Good to know there are other options. thanks

I return the ones in the last category and some in the 3rd. It's made me a very happy customer and I've gotten through far more books a result (If it's good, how can you "put it down") and enjoyed all of them.

With longer books I usually more time to research them, listen to their narrator, read reviews, put them on my wish list, and only pull the trigger if I'm sure i'll put the effort in.

I don't tend to return books (in any format) I don't like, but since I occasionally buy a book and then discover I've already read it, I appreciate the ease of this return option very much.

The very title scares me ;P
