Emma (girlanachronisme) | 2 comments In The Midst Of Life and In The Midst Of Life are the same book, and the Phoenix paperbacks are the same addition. I was being a complete idiot and added it again. Is there anyway of someone merging the 2 books?

I'm sorry for being a stupid noob!

Kimmy (kimmykay1213) | 16 comments Hello,
Didn't want to start a new topic and i have checked the manual but for the life of me i can't figure out how to merge the following to links. They are the same books but on one the title is spelled wrong. I found this while adding book covers.

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...

The correct title is Aladdin Sins Bad. If someone could merge these that would be wonderful. If you could also point me in the direction on how to merge you would be my new superhero. Thank you!!!

Amara Tanith (aftanith) Merged & fixed.

To merge, the book must be combined with its duplicate, then the duplicate (i.e., the one without the ISBN/ASIN/BNID) deleted. (After any details needing correcting are corrected, of course.) But in many cases, the deletion step can only be done by a Super.

Krystal109 | 1086 comments I always wondered that. So we combine the books so the ratings and reviews are merged and then copy over the correct info to the ISBN'd edition and delete the non ISBN edition (or post on the delete this book thread to have a super do it).

Amara Tanith (aftanith) Essentially, yes. But deleting an edition transfers the reviews to the most popular edition, so if a duplicate needs to be merged with a specific edition other than the most popular one, the two will first need to be separated from the other editions, then merged, then re-combined. ;)

(And, of course, it's something that requires great care, as once an edition is deleted, there's no way to get it back.)

Krystal109 | 1086 comments Oh okay. So, separate, combine the duplicates, transfer info, delete extra, re-combine. Got it.
