Help please!

It was brought to my attention that the book Criminal by Karin Slaughter had (Will Trent #6) next to the title, and it is in fact #7. I went through and changed each book to #7, and when you look at each edition, it's showing correctly http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition... but when you bring the book up, it still has #6 in the title. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...

When I edited the changes, I noticed down the bottom under series, it said 'Will Trent #6' highlighted...I don't know how to change this. I also added Karin Slaughter's website link in one of the changes, to show the correct title. http://www.karinslaughter.com/books/a...

You need to change the numbering of the series ("edit" on the series' page). It's done now

To expand on what Rinou said, there are two separate ways to note a book's series and series number. Firstly, the title field, which is what you were editing. However, things put in parenthesis in the title field will only show up in certain places, such as "My Books" and "Other Editions".

What appears on the book's page is different; the information from the series listing itself takes precedent over what's in the title field. So when you were changing the information in the title field, you weren't seeing the change on the book's page because it was still incorrect on the series page. Now that Rinou has corrected the series page, it displays correctly on the book page.

In the future, to correct this issue, you must click the highlighted series information you saw, which will take you to the series page. Then, as Rinou said, click edit on the series page and you'll be able to fix the error(s).
