sitting at the coffee shop, just got a recommendation for Unbroken...

TLI = "too little information"

Oh crap, Amy! I deleted your message by mistake! (Trying to delete a redundant post of my own.)

message 4: by Amy (new)

Amy | 11 comments No problem. How ironic that TLI was TLI for me! ;-) That does answer my other questions, though, regarding whether or not that will be the next book, and which one, since there were multiple books with that title.

Perhaps Mark meant this one (the one on the bestseller lists):

Unbroken

I might be able to read a book. :) I recently got the first book in the Game of Thrones trilogy (on my nook). So I guess that's my suggestion, even though I don't know how good it is, and hardcore-book-people have probably read it?

I won't cry if something someone cares passionately about gets chosen.

I'm down for any book!

Now that Bill's found, and I've read, the jacket cover, I'm less interested. But, let's try to pick a book!
I think game of thrones might be neat.

Ever considered a career as a waffle vendor? You'd look great out in the street with your waffle cart!

yah sorry. Suggestion: offer the pick to Amy, as she's new?

message 12: by Williwaw (new)

Williwaw | 194 comments Mod
I second the motion. Please give us your pick, Amy!

message 13: by Amy (new)

Amy | 11 comments Ok.... what genre(s) do the active readers in the group like to read? I'll also look at past-read books. Back to you with a title in a bit....

We don't want to be boxed into our past! We are ready to explore new directions at any time. We haven't read any automobile or refrigerator repair manuals yet, so there are definitely some possibilities out there.

message 15: by Amy (new)

Amy | 11 comments How about either:
(A) "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot, or,
(B) "Scent of the Missing" by Susannah Charleson

Thoughts??

message 16: by Williwaw (new)

Williwaw | 194 comments Mod
"Immortal Life" intrigues me.

Amy | 11 comments Ok, so it looks like we have a book picked..... now what? :-) (Newbie question, I know)

Amy wrote: "Ok, so it looks like we have a book picked..... now what? :-) (Newbie question, I know)" There's a new topic: "Book 27 - Immortal Life" on the discussion board now. That's where all members will post comments about your pick.

I stared another thread for book discussions just now! It's here: Discussion>Book 27: The Immortal Life>TILoHL.

Some folks like to add updates while they're reading along, and some folks just like to read the book and comment when they're done. Most books we also meet in real life, though a few members are in other states, etc so the online discussion is pretty useful.

Feel free to add to the vocabulary or best/worst writing threads if you find something you particularly would like to note too!

Weird! I was just trying to add the new folder, myself. I thought I had done it, but then I couldn't find the folder. Then you showed, up, you saucy interloper! Are you messing with me, Adam?

I've read that one and it's awesome. I'm totally down to discuss it!

Let's have a meeting on this one in a couple of weeks? I volunteer to host (unless someone else wants to.) There'll be tumor smoothies!

Be sure to join the argument in the TILoHL discussion section.
