So, the girl's family is on government assistance and she's mentally delayed or disabled. She has one girl who tolerates her, all the other kids ignore or tease her. This friend has another, way cooler friend, who is all excited about getting a Pinto and the two friends are going to carpool to school. The main character tries to arrange an accident to delay the Pinto-driver, but I think the driver actually dies. There are references to how the family is all overweight because all they eat is government cheese.
