And yet again from the bad news department (coincidentally, too, given message 2170 above), the legendary spy novelist John le Carré has died. According to the obituary I saw, he passed away yesterday after a short illness unrelated to Covid-19...

That time of year again folks, aal the best, and have a geet canny Christmas as we say in these Northern climes. And as always a special thanks to our US taxpayers, who'll be keeping the little 'un quiet for just one more day:https://www.noradsanta.org/
Merry Christmas and happy holidays everybody. Remember pace yourselves, and above all be safe, and be well.

An experience he enjoyed.
Merry Christmas everyone!

GR does maintenance during the first week of January, and various features have been interrupted. All of the librarians are making up for lost time, I suspect.
it's mind boggling to me that in this day and age it happens on this one particular internet site being Goodreads, no other web site I visit does this happen.

Travel? Who said anything about travel, she was talking about an online auction. Pictures and stuff. LOL. The only things getting to travel would be the books.
'Aussie Rick' wrote: "I've just closed down her internet connection so sorry, no online sale :)"Now there is a Man who loves his books. LOL
Just in case you're still looking for something unique to add to your collection, how about an RAF V-bomber cockpit?http://warbirdsnews.com/warbirds-news...

We should do something nice for our Moderator. He has put together such a great group. It would be nice if we could find out favorite Book Store Sources, that have mail order ability, and get some gift certificates so he can renew his library to more evenly match his TBR list.
I can help Di. Rick and I are friends in Canberra ( met through this book group) and once every 6 weeks meet for a coffee, discuss books and then hit up a book shop increasingly a very good second hand book shop Don’t mind buying Rick a few books he wants. Big issue he has them all 😀. All to look at vouchersRick a modest guy and obviously really enjoys the facilitator role and does not do it for the glory
I'm very appreciate of the kind words Dj and Alex, no need to get me any book vouchers, your company in the group along with others is reward enough :)
Besides his wife might get a bit miffed if he started buying even more books. I don't think she would enjoy finding Rick storing them in the cupboards instead of the dishes. LOL.

It would seem that the Japanese have given Star Wars the Anime Treatment. Darth Vader's first appearance is very cool. Will have to see if they do the whole movie or just a part of it.
