DJ, sorry but brother-in-law gets books in which you might be interested. And exchange other books with friends. My problem is getting them read to give away.Have a great New Year.

Heavy Sigh...and here I was trying to help you out. LOL
Let me add my Happy New Year wishes to all those already postedHappy New Year, every one
May the coming year find you happier and with a lot more time to work on the TBR pile :)
Must be near the last on the list, but here's too a happy, healthy 2019 to you all, looking forward to good books and good discussions. All the best folks..
Manray9 wrote: "It seemed to me that 2018 was a troubled year around the world. I hope 2019 is better."I'm with you on that, hoping for better, but I'll be quite satisfied if it simply doesn't get any worse...

I must point out that Mt epub is WAY bigger along with its twin peak of Mt audio. A Happy New Year BTW.

I'm heading off for about nine days of which at least the last four days may be without internet access. I hope I can trust you all to be on your best behaviour and not trash the joint while I'm away!

No internet! What will you do??I hope you have a good time off, and maybe get around to a good book, AR.
Hope you enjoy your trip, Rick! You are lucky not to be here in Detroit- as I type this, the temperature is 1°F/-17°C and dropping rapidly...
Same here. There is only so much you can take off, you can always put something more on :)We are in a relatively warm spot - 40's F in the day and low 30's/ high 20s at night (+4 or 5 C / - 2 to -4 C at night)
We haven't had a sub 0 night so far this winter and only a couple of nights in the single didgets.
Most all of the snow has melted in the yards.
Wow, not me- I'd be thrilled if it was about 80°F all year round. When I got up this morning, it was -8°F. Winters like this are the only really bad drawback to living in Michigan as far as I'm concerned...

I went out today for my exercise run. It was 30 degrees (F) -- not bad -- but the 15 knot headwind took the starch out of me. I did only 30 minutes and quit to thaw out.

Enjoy the trip. I always preferred being colder as you can warm up whereas being hot is much trickier getting cooler. Like MR9 though the cold is more noticeable as you get more mature :)

Funny discussion. I have turned down 6 figure job offers because it would have required leaving the warm south. Homeboy does not do cold either.

If you have the opportunity to head out to Bull Creek, check out the Aviation Heritage Museum.
I can't handle the cold like I could 5 years ago, now days when it's in the 30's I can stay out hiking for about two hours or so depending on the wind conditions, when the mercury dips in the 20's I limit my walking to one hour or lesss. In the teen's i stay in. With the mild winter we've been having so far, for Dec/Jan I've been out 24 days per month.
Basking in relatively warm temperatures, up as high as 4 degrees C the past couple of days, but today it didn't break freezing. Proper sweatshirt weather! Thankfully I'm on early starts (7:30am most mornings) so I get the benefit of the frosty mornings.

Still having been to Lake Michigan a time or four, it is scary impressive that it has frozen solid.

Not freezing cold, but anything under 75 to around 30 isn't bad at all. Which makes where I live now pretty much perfect.
Given it’s been 21°F for a week, count me with Liam. When I retire—not that far off—I’m moving to Florida…
I like the bombe de terre comment.Watch out if you buy French potatoes.

When you run them over, don't stop and get out of the car to see if they are Okay. Since what you did was just piss them off and they run faster than you.
LOL
