Mockingjay question

As everyone else said, the reason is: $$$

The studios will keep splitting the final book in a series until it stops making money. If you don't like it, vote with your wallet. Don't go see the Mockingjay movies.

I suspect they'll add something to the end to show Katniss and Peeta getting back together.

Edit to add: This would be a lot easier to swallow if it wasn't a full year between them, Harry Potter was two movies but they were 6 months apart, it's not near the slap in the face Mockingjay is to its fans.

Yeah, HP warranted the extra movie easily, the 6 preceeding books were filled with school fluff that got cut out of the films while the 7th was all story.

I actually thought Breaking Dawn probably could use both films as well but then i watched part 1 online and I was so bored! They could have skipped almost all of that and easily made just one.

Now we have Mockingjay coming out which really doesn't have a TON of storyline to work with till it gets to what will be a very long climactic ending. I donno, I guess I don't really think it merits 2 movies, I found the book boring enough. Ah well.

Ya, there isn't even a good part to END part 1!!! I re-read the book trying to find a good part, but I couldn't!
Plus, I didn't like this one very much. The first time I read it, I loved it. But the second time, I realized that yes, it was poorly written!
But, I did really,really,really,really love the ending!!!!!!!!! :D

As with Hunger Games, there are a lot of events happening out of Katniss' view. All the politics and plotting by Snow and Coin...The rebels fighing in the districts... All that goes on while Katniss and the rest are stuck underground during the bombings... The rescue effort to save Peeta from Snow... There's plenty of action for the first movie.
They can easily have Peeta's reprogramming and the battles in the capital in the end of the book as the entire second movie. A lot of action happens.

It makes no sense! There was nothing interesting in the first half of the book! It was so slow. They have to be adding or changing things (which I hate) to make it fill up two movies.

It has more stuff going on in it. I don't think it's a bad thing...we get MORE MOVIE. I don't think we should complain about that!

The more, the better! Why complain?!

It's like you say, it will bring in more money as the book isn't any bigger than the first two. Though i will still watch all the films at the cinema!
I just hope they make the ending even more gripping. The ending can make you feel sad and lost, even though Peeta and Katness have found each other. I don't know if any of you read the Extended ending by Miss Scarlett on www.fanfiction.net/s/6554253/1/Grow_T..., but if they expanded a little more like this, show how they found each other and fall in love all over again, it would be even better in my opinion! Though loved the books all the same. I just wish they wouldn't leave it so long between each film (Mar 2012, Nov 13, Nov 14 and nov 15!) it's like twilight BD 1&2, It's such a long wait and you almost forget about it!

Money money and money, now with out Harry Potter and Twilight endind, they need something to do money, and the thing is, i think Catching Fire has more to make 2 movies, one all the visits to the districts and the other one the arena, i am thinking where to cut mockingjay in two, i like when they rescued Peeta and try to kill Katniss

I don't like it that they are splitting it into two movies. Mockingjay was my least favorite in the trilogy; it got a little too boring for me comparing it to its predecessors.

Because they'll end it where peeta is choking katniss and that will be a huge cliff hanger so more people will go see the 2nd part

its so anoying they are just trying to milk as much money as possible its so stupid it really does not need to be in two parts.

plus it seems like there isnt much to but into two parts. Monkingjay seemed very slow to me and it would be a very boring part one if they split it. I had a hard time getting threw the book so idk how the two part movie with turn out...

the exact same reason they did that to Harry Potter and The Twilight series. A)money B)Suspension and C)Publicity. I think they should have it in one movie cuz it is really annoying how they keep on doing this. Who agrees?????

I bet you they would split it when Peeta returns. Don't know if it's a smart decision though- I totally lost interest with Twilight because the movies were so far apart. That, and the movie sucked. haha
