Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments reading the Dark Witch (The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts so far it is pretty good, but unfortunately it is on an MP3. Oh well, it is still good.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments Thigh High (Fortune Hunter, #3) by Christina Dodd Thigh High by Christina Dodd is romantic suspense lite and a really awesome book if you like romance, humor and a touch of mystery. 5++++ stars.

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 149 comments I've started rereading Jayne Castle's Harmony books. I've reread Midnight Crystal (Harmony #7; Arcane Society #9; Dreamlight Trilogy #3) by Jayne Castle Canyons of Night (Looking Glass Trilogy, #3; The Arcane Society, #12; Harmony, #8) by Jayne Castle Deception Cove (Rainshadow, #2; Harmony, #10) by Jayne Castle Dark Light (Harmony #5) by Jayne Castle and just started The Lost Night (Rainshadow, #1; Harmony, #9) by Jayne Castle . I'm in a slump and haven't read much that's new in the last few months.

message 613: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments What do you like to read, Sandra? BTW, every once in awhile I reread that series. I am not sure if I read The Lost Night (Rainshadow, #1; Harmony, #9) by Jayne Castle

message 614: by Sandra J (last edited Apr 28, 2014 04:08AM) (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 149 comments I usually read PNR and mysteries, especially cozies and classic or classic-style mysteries (like Agatha Christie). I have read a little HR; but other than Amanda Quick, I'm not a huge fan. I read some RS and contemporary-Linda Howard (of course), Lori Foster, Nora Roberts, and some Sharon Sala. I'll read anything by Jayne Ann Krentz (Jayne Castle, Amanda Quick). I'm really enjoying the Rainshadow series and looking forward to the next one which will be out in August.

message 615: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments I just started Falling Awake by Jayne Ann Krentz Falling Awake by Jayne Ann Krentz This is my first book by this author and am glad to find that Sandra J likes her. I'm not much into PNR, but I like this book so far. Do you have any recommendations for her work?

message 616: by Sandra J (last edited Apr 28, 2014 10:55AM) (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 149 comments If you'd rather stick with a contemporary RS (and I consider her RS "lite" since there's little graphic violence in her books, thank goodness), you might want to try All Night Long by Jayne Ann Krentz or any of her older titles. The first one I ever read was Trust Me by Jayne Ann Krentz , and I really liked Grand Passion by Jayne Ann Krentz and Sharp Edges by Jayne Ann Krentz . I enjoy the humor in her writing and the fact that the heroine is always a smart, independent woman (and the hero isn't an alphole-he actually listens-who knew?).
BTW, she's pretty popular and you can find all of her books at the library.

message 617: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments Thank you. I really enjoy the RS lite which is more romance than suspense and plan to read more of her books

Have you read Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward or Christine Feehan?

message 619: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 149 comments I've read the BDB up through the fifth book and enjoyed the OTT characters (I've reread these and enjoyed the Insider's Guide, too). Phury's book left me cold, and I skimmed through it. I have the others in PB through Payne's book and haven't read them. I like some of Christine Feehan's books having read a few of the Dark series and all of the Drake Sisters series. I'm current on the Sisters of the Heart series (the Drake Sisters spin-off) and looking forward to the third book out at the end of May.

message 620: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I so agree with Phury's book. I have a hard time with someone using drugs. I have read all the way through the King, the latest book, now I am waiting for the next book.

I think I have read everything by Christine Feehan. I guess I am a pretty big fan. Although there are some series I like better than others. I know there are other PNR that I have read, but off hand I can't think of them.

message 621: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I just finished the Tribute by Nora Roberts, I kind of thought the book was too long, but I have to say I was surprised by the end.

message 623: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I don't know if I read the Search. I am reading Don't Tell by Karen Rose, our Book of the Month. It is actually really good. I am also listening to Seduction in Death (In Death, #13) by J.D. Robb

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments I am almost done with See No Evil by Allison Brennan. See No Evil (No Evil Trilogy, #2) by Allison Brennan Great book that had me reading far into the night. I've only read two other books by her and I really like her. She reminds me a lot of Sandra Brown.

message 627: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) | 598 comments I think of Phury`s book as a train wreck waiting to happen-the darn book was about all the brothers but him.And then I felt she made him out to be a sleeze which I hadn't picked up on before that book

message 628: by Judy (new)

Judy | 2571 comments I am reading Memoirs of a Geisha for my book club which meets Monday night. I anxious to finish, so I can start on Duncan's Bride. I've enjoyed everyone's comments about the book. It sounds great.

Nancy (gr-nancy-a) | 799 comments I am reading book number six of the Harmony,TX series by Jodi Thomas.
She has become a favorite author of mine.
[And it turns out she is a TX author..(write what you know)..and I am currently living in TX..so local author! :)]
Haven't been able to read them in order but that doesn't seem to be a problem.

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) | 598 comments Just finished Karin Robards Hunted,it was a good RS .
I like the way she writes and that she doesn`t use really graphic violence.Sometimes I don`t mind that but sometimes I have to be careful or I`m afraid to go to bed if it`s really bad

message 631: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I so agree with you Kathy Anne. I have to be careful what I read at night, which is sometimes a pain because I may be reading a really good book, but it will cause sleep almost impossible.

I think the only thing that saved that book was reading about the others. I so wanted to skip reading about Phury. I just couldn't stand the self abusive ass.

message 633: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments I am reading A Game of Chance by Linda Howard A Game Of Chance (Mackenzie Family, #5) by Linda Howard the last of the Mackenzie Family books. I have the whole collection for Kindle and it will live forever on my favorites shelf. It is my fervent wish that Linda Howard will revisit this amazing family and write about the grandchildren, specifically Nick. She is such a wonderful character as a child, you can only imagine what she will be as a adult.

message 634: by Janeiowa (new)

Janeiowa | 5009 comments I've reread the Mackenzie series several times. I think each is wonderful.

I'm currently reading the latest from Julie James:
It Happened One Wedding It Happened One Wedding (FBI / US Attorney, #5) by Julie James

Recent titles I've read from new-to-me authors didn't live up to my expectations, so I'm glad to get back to some good writing.

I love Julie James. She has funny, intelligent and sexy characters and she is a fantastic author.

Nancy | 69 comments Just finished reading Heat. It is a dark sci fi erotica with fairly graphic details. It is not for the faint hearted but the book is incredibly well written with amazing world building and characters. I rate it 5 stars.

What is Oracle Moon? The name sounds intriguing?

message 646: by Sandra J (last edited May 24, 2014 01:49PM) (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 149 comments I haven't started River Road yet. I will after I cook dinner tonight. It's Jayne Ann Krentz's latest and is contemporary romantic suspense (RS"lite"-I really don't like graphic violence). Oracle Moon is the fourth book in the Elder Races series (PNR) by Thea Harrison that starts with Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison -another one of my all-time favorites and one that is reread often.
