I really liked it. I read until my eyes blurred, then I would wait for awhile and read again. Let's see, it starts out on an island in California a 16 year old Lucy Sheridan is unwillingly picked up from a party by what she calls him her 19 year old guardian angel, Mason Fletcher.

Mason had heard that Tristan Brinker, the boy who threw the party wanted to drug her and rape her in front on everyone else, then put it on the internet. Mason also talks to her aunt to get her off the island. The next day, Brinker is said to have left the island and within 3 days a rumor has circulated that he was killed in a drug deal gone bad.

Now 13 years later, Lucy is back on the island cleaning out her aunt's house and getting it ready for sale. She finds the body of Brinker along with a newspaper that talks about the Scorecard Rapist stuffed in the chimney of the fireplace. After the body is found people start dying, Lucy's house is burned to the ground and the mystery is not only who is doing it but why? Is it because of the drugs that were sold 13 years ago or because Lucy also inherited Colfax stocks, who everyone believed would go to Quinn Colfax. There were holes in the story, like the timeline, but basically the book kept me so enthralled that I easily overlooked the discrepancies and I finished the book in less than a day.

was good. I had a hard time putting it down and finished it in about a day and a half.

This book just became one of my all time favs.I could kick myself for putting it off for so long
I can`t understand why those of us born after the 70s are lucky to even hear of it
It is without a doubt a 5* read but any one younger than my Mom knows very little about it,and what a shame that is

message 559: by AliciaJ (new)

AliciaJ I am reading Twisted. Not sure I'm happy with this one or not.

Janeiowa | 5009 comments I love hockey stories, and I've read all of Rachel Gibson's and all of Deirdre Martin's. I was delighted to find a new author and a new series about the Las Vegas Sinners.

I'm now on book 2 of that series
Full Strength by Katie Kenyhercz

Book 1 was On the Fly... On the Fly by Katie Kenyhercz

It was "that book" that everyone read. Kinda like DaVinci Code. The Thornbir The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough is a epic work and well worth reading even 40 years later.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I just read Hunted by Karen Robards . Personally, I didn't like the book at all. Right now I am listening to Judgment in Death (In Death, #11) by J.D. Robb , I LOVE J.D. Robb.

I have also started Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher . A friend of mine at the library recommended it. I am not very far, but it really has caught my attention. It looks like a wizard/vampire mystery. Not sure yet.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments Right now I am reading Alone Alone (Detective D.D. Warren, #1) by Lisa Gardner for another group. I am half way through and right now I am so mad that I have spent the last several hours reading the book I want to spit. Someone in the other group said she felt that way in the beginning and then it got better. Has anyone read this book and what did you think of it?

As I said in the 5 qualities to make or break a book is the book has to be realistic. This book is about a cop that shoots someone in the line of duty, but a in Massachusetts has a law where someone can circumvent the law and charge anyone with a crime, in this case a cop. If they win then the cop will be charged with a felony. What is worse is the cop goes like a lamb to slaughter and talks to the people who are trying to hang him.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments Yay!!! I was first on the list to order the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, The King (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #12) by J.R. Ward . I have just started it and I am already enthralled. Does anyone remember if Wrath, son of Wrath, was married before? I thought Beth was his only. I know Butches wife was his "shellan" but they never did anything except drink each other's blood. I can't think of her name, but this is not that person.

message 565: by Sera (new)

Sera (Serachan) | 496 comments Marissa was Wrath's shellan. I don't think Wrath ever married before. Does it mention in The King? I'm about to read it, still re-reading Lover at Last though

message 566: by Sera (new)

Sera (Serachan) | 496 comments I don't think shellan was the right word, Marissa and Wrath never did a thing but drink of each other, I think the correct word is hmm fiancee? Or some kind of

message 567: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments This one talks about Ahna, who was shellan to Wrath, son of Wrath. It talked about it happening soon after his parents died. I have read the series twice and don't remember Wrath having someone besides Marissa. I am about 200 pages into it and I really an enthralled. I can't wait to go to bed so I can relax and read a bit. I have too much to do today to actually sit down and read.

I was also dissapointed in "Hunted". I stopped somewhere in the middle of this story and did not even bother to finish it. But I enjoyed Karen Robard's Charlotte Stone series:
The Last Victim by Karen Robards The Last Kiss Goodbye by Karen Robards
Coming book #3 in 26 Aug 2014:
Her Last Whisper (Dr. Charlotte Stone, #3) by Karen Robards

I didn't realize that was the last troubleshooter book in the series. I am going to have to reread that book. I know I read it, but I can't remember it. I HATE when a series ends.

I agree with you about the Wardspeak, but I like the different POV. When I first started reading the BDB I felt that way, but with all the cliffhangers I would have hated not knowing what was happening. I am really interested in Layla and Xcor. How are they going to work this out?

I completely agree with you on this Nancy. I was very disappointed by the last book and from the reviews I've seen so far, this one isn't going to be much better. So, I've been reading a lot of m/m right now, as well as romantic suspense by Kaylea Cross. I love the Titanium Security series.

This is Izzy and Eden's HEA. The story is all about the very dysfunctional Gillman family and how Izzy and Dan finally come together to save the day and become family.

I have no idea. I know I got the Mackenzie Legacy and Mackenzie Honor, which was Mac's Mountain and Mac's Mission then Mac's Pleasure and Game of Chance. I expected them to be more. Then I got a the whole series, I think I got it on EBay by bidding on a bunch of LH books. They were included in the package. I think I gave away that copy or I would send it to you. Did you get the book?

Thanks Dee I just got Mackenzie Legacy from good old Ebay. Mind you I have a stack of LH books to read as I have only recently discovered her and have only read about 4 of her books. Lucky I don't have much of a life and can read so much hahaha Although given the choice of going out or staying at home reading I would be at home

The overall " tone" was so wrong in this book. I won't be reading any more of this author. Even her pet dog, on the cover, wasn't fun. Huge disappointment :(.

I just finished Dream Man Dream Man by Linda Howard I have had a pretty bad bladder infection and really haven't felt like reading, listening to my audios or watching TV. All I wanted to do was sleep and stay away from the pain.
