To authors posting about new releases (Please Read!)

General Guidelines:

1. We are happy to provide opportunities for authors on this forum to share information about their work with members. We want to know about all the new IR books out! We just ask that you show respect for members and promote your books in the appropriate places. Of course, you can promote new releases in the Coming Attractions folder. If your book is not a new release, post it under the Promotions section and not here.

2.If you are an author who participates on this group (ie, not just a drive by author), you are welcome to post about your new IR book coming out. Please put the name of the book in your thread title, so that readers can get a heads up on what book you are announcing. If your book is on Goodreads, you can even add it to the "This topic is about______" section on the thread.

3. Threads about new releases will be allowed to remain in this folder for a three month period. After that point, they will be removed to the Promotions section.

Just a few official reminders to authors on the group:

1)Your book should be in publication when you post about it on this thread or in this folder or promotions. If your book is not in publication (ebook included), then it should not be posted here or in promotions. Of course, you are welcome to post excerpts or a link to any original work in the original fiction folders. There is no point in posting about a book that is not available for members to buy or read.

2)Please include a link to your book on Goodreads and you may include a link to sites where the book may be purchased.

3)This folder is only for books that have been published/will be published within a 3 month period.

If you're an author posting about a new release(s), please make an effort to consolidate your posts. If it's the same book, instead of creating a new thread, why not edit the old thread and add the new information?

This folder is getting very cluttered and I can see some areas where we can make the posts more concise, outside of moving them to the promotions folders after three months.
