Amazon Categories - Strangeness

Has anyone noticed that the categories we select from in KDP don't always match the categories that buyers browse? I was just trying to find a YA category; the best I could come up with from the customer side is Teen Fantasy, but in KDP there is no such thing.

Anybody got a handle on how which categories to pick for YA MA fantasy?

Good question. I haven't really noticed, to tell the truth. There isn't a YA category? Really?? Interesting. You'd think there would be.

Yeah. Strange. I dug a little deeper and it appears that a lot of YA is under CHILDREN'S--FICTION, with Hunger Games at the top of that browse. creepy.

Hunger Games is listed under Children's Fiction?

I want to read the book - I've heard it's good - but from what I've read/seen/heard about it, children's book it is not!
