Eh, life brings what it will. Thanks for your response, Ellie. I will endeavor to finish the last book. Life is good these days and I have unfinished business with FSoG lol...I see h..."
No problem, Laura. I'm glad you can vent here with us. I believe we women can be there for each other...for moral support when one needs it. We might not know one another personally, but we can still be someone to share our feelings and be compassionate to those who might be in need of it. :)

Ellie: Glad you enjoyed the Gabriel books. There will be a third!
Jenna: Lol I've missed you, girly!

Best!

I am so looking forward to a 3rd Gabriel's Inferno/Rapture. I loved the story.

What is that? A third book? Seriously!!!! OMG!!!!! I'll be the first in line!!!! Is it true?

Well put Karen, well put indeed.

Laura, I love the poetic feel of these books. They sort of have a modern day Shakespeare feel, especially the second book. They are romantic and I love the role redemption plays for the characters. This series has everything I love in romantic fiction; a brooding, protective yet kind hero, a sweet and strong heroine, sexual tension, some angst, a rival love interest, and gorgeous, passionate writing!

I'm trying to think if you'd like these...I think there's a good chance! The plot has a lot of substance, much more than FSoG, in my opinion.

Kris, I never did get to the second book in the Gabriel series, but I get what you mean when you get wrapped up in something like that. I have a few authors I've read that you just hang on every word. Meredith Duran (his romance) is one I ran across last year (?) that I just love. Some people complain she doesn't move fast enough, but I just love the way the books feel and for a lot of the same reasons you mention. Ay, maybe one of these days (3 pages at a time) I will get through that one. There was just some stuff in there that I found sublimely ludicrous >_< haha

I feel you because, although I do enjoy Kristen Ashley books, I can't (for the life of me) get passed the agonizingly intricate attention to detail in her writing. I really do try, but I can't become a die-hard fan like so many have. She has addicts and support groups...I kind of feel like I'm cursing when I say I'm not a KA fan out loud!!!

YAY! You have a Nook, right? I can lend you my copies. Send me your email address if you want, and I'll send them to you when you're ready to read.

Yes, ma'am it does! Is this who you're talking about? Kristen Ashley I will look into her stuff, I'm always looking for something new!

I felt the same way about Reynard's writing. It's beautifully done.

Wait, so you found it on your site? You don't need a lend?
I agree Ellie! Sylvain Reynard is a MAN, and that shocks a lot of readers.

Oh man it surprised me lol was NOT expecting that :) And now I'm looking forward to my new KA endeavor. I will poke through her stuff and see what is there!

I hope you enjoy! She has tons of books published and pops news ones out like writing's going out of style ;) If you decide to read, drop in and let us know if she made an addict out of you! :)

I can't speak for others... I loved the story... I loved Dante's Inferno and loved to see it linked to a contemporary romance. I loved the characters... Gabriel was such a intense character... and the story had many parallels to the original piece. It is not for everyone... but it appealed to me!

Thanks Kris... I'll check it out!!!! I'm thrilled that he's writing a third!!!

This is how I feel about Karen Ranney and Madeline Hunter. The writing feels like poetry to me. There is a loveliness to it that pulls me in.

I'm thrilled too. I love his series. Thought they were beautifully written.

Thanks, Kris. I like so far. I haven't done a stitch of work today and I'm happy. Thanks for the recommendation :)

That kind of stuff can ruin a book for me. There are some ways to describe anatomy and ways not to describe it. I don't mind the swear words so long as they are appropriately in context, but some of the words I've read to describe...ehem...ourselves, or male parts just leaves me going huh????? I should start keeping a list...

I used to feel the same way... but you have to put the words in the mouths of the characters... not yours. It is part of their personality.. and should be given the levity it deserves. All people are different, and are used to different ways of expressing themselves. Remember, in these stories... we are invited into the private lives of others.. therefore you have to accept them for who they are.

I fully understand your point, however, it does not endear me to the protagonist. If anything, I lose compassion for whatever she's going through. Eva was supposed to be an intellegent business woman, not someone from the seedy-side-of-life that was into drugs and hung out in gangs that had rap-sheets as long as their arms. If Eva's persona represented this type of person, the linqo would work. It doesn't shock me as much if a man uses 'gutter-type-lingo', but for a woman, it does. I look forward to how you all feel.

I'll try to remember that next time I read the word sword lol :P bleh! And I agree with you, Ellie. Sometimes I feel like the authors are tired of writing the same words over and over again (not that I blame them!) and they're trying out something new. My feeling is that when I notice it, it's not working ;)

I DID start a list! I was driving home one day and the song about big butts came on and I started thinking about how many words there are to describe the butt. My grown kids helped me compile a "butt list" when I got home. ;0)

I find it amazing you can understand the words to some of these songs. LOL

I'm so glad you're enjoying! Which book of hers did you go with?

I tried to find one that had the best overall feedback and went with that first Rock Chick book. And omg haha yeah the H is total alpha but it's ok because the h isn't taking much from him. Like she hasn't gotten like super descriptive with the sexy scenes but that hasn't stopped them from being really steamy. I found myself flat out grinning to myself at work lol no good =)

Haha! That's classic, Mary!
The chicks at Smartbitches crack me up and this article is a pretty classy moment as well on descriptive phrases.

Eh, life brings what it will. Thanks for your response, Ellie. I will endeavor to finish the last book. Life is good these days and I have unfinished business with FSoG lol...I see how much you all like this thing, with the exception of Jenna :), and I'm stuck right now not knowing what I want to read so I'm trying to tie up loose ends. I can't finish GI, though. Sorry, haha, but that was sooooo much worse. You may see me pop in here from time to time when Fifty gets me heated, but I mean no harm by it. I just get so exasperated by this thing! :)
