A really big question, it seems, is whether Voldy would have turned out the same if his upbringing had been different. I say maybe. Thing is, not everyone who's an orphan and raised in an orphanage with magical powers turn out to be the most evil wizards/witches on earth. Who knows?

To all those peopl ewho want Sirius alive, it would have changed the series A LOT!! First of all, in the 7th book, Harry would have felt resticted to leave cuz Sirius told him not to or Sirius would want to go with Harry. Plus, he would change his relationships with people, 'sepcially Ginny. Harry would maybe wanted to protect his emotions. Sirius would also need a place to live, and if he stayed alive for the years when Harry had children, it would have changed all of them, for the better probally.I'm not saying i don't love Sirius, but not the best character to raise back to life.
Oh, and i would FOR SURE bring Fred back to life. Fred and George aren't Fred and George without Fred.

I actually think it would be nice if Snape and Lily were together - I think James is a prat, and I don't think Lily and James would get together "no matter what."

He might have been and arrogant toe rag as Lily called him, but Lily wouldn't have married him if he was still like that. It was either Remus or Sirius that said that James' head deflated in seventh year.
Lara wrote: "Becca wrote: "Lara wrote: "Hmm. Hard choice. I would choose Merope Gaunt. Voldemort would have a mother so he wouldn't become Voldemort. Just Tom Riddle. Sorry, I know I'm prejudiced, but I still think it is people like James who made Snape the way he was - so introverted and misunderstood.
Becca wrote: "Lara wrote: "Becca wrote: "Lara wrote: "Hmm. Hard choice. I would choose Merope Gaunt. Voldemort would have a mother so he wouldn't become Voldemort. Just Tom Riddle. Even when he was friends with Lily he was friends with Death Eaters like Avery and Mulciber. I think that the Death Eaters would have killed Lily if she was with Snape. A Muggleborn wife of a Death Eater. Voldemort would have killed her. At least she had Harry before she died. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense. I'm just rambling about my thoughts on what would make the future different. What do you think about the Next Generation of Potters, Weasleys, Malfoys, and Lovegoods?
Lara wrote: "Becca wrote: "Lara wrote: "Becca wrote: "Lara wrote: "Hmm. Hard choice. I would choose Merope Gaunt. Voldemort would have a mother so he wouldn't become Voldemort. Just Tom Riddle. It would probabl..."Snape's home life did definitely play a part, and the Slytherins, but I also think that if people like James had been kinder and more accepting he wouldn't have needed to go to the Slytherin's to feel part of a group, and therefore wouldn't have been so associated with Death Eaters. I also think that if Lily had given him more of a chance he may have broken away from people like Avery and Mulciber, and seen the error of his ways. I don't really know about the next generation, except that I don't like the name Hugo :), and obviously I got tears in my eyes when Harry named his second son partly after the bravest man he ever knew. It would be cool to see how the next generation turned out though!
I would want Snape to live even though he is mysterious at times, and you can't tell what side he's on. I didn't even know he was good until Dumbledore explained everything to Harry.
Fred, Snape, or Tonks. I just love Fred too much to accept that he's dead, Snape is amazing, and Tonks and Lupin shouldn't have both died, and I thought it was interesting how all of the Marauders died within the 7 books.
Sirius Black not only because he is my favorite character but Harry had already lost both of his parents and I don't think he should have lost his godfather as well.
Whoa - that would be a really hard decision. It would have to come down to Sirius, Snape, and Fred Weasley. My heart says Fred Weasley because of the deep love his family has for him and what a heart wrenching blow his death was for all of them, especially George. And of course, Sirius because it's Harry's only family. Snape is one of the best and truest anti-heroes ever written and I would love to bring him back. ACK! I guess ultimately Fred Weasley - he's the youngest and as a mom I'd have to save the "kid"!
Sirius because he and harry were planning to be a family. They both should of gotten the chance to do that
Fred, without a doubt. I feel like the Weasleys can't really have quite an "All was well" without him.
Sirius Black - hands down - the first time I read the HP series I loved the books and then when he died { keep in mind I was like 12} I was too heartbroken and couldn’t read anymore - didn’t pick the books up for like 10 years after
obviously Snape who is main subject, main topic, and main men of hp series, when who must not be named kill him.... ohk.... in the cursed child who read that book,, obviously miss jk just changed whole story and snape meets albus severus potter its justt..... i will choose snape
I can’t decide! All of them are so sad! But I guess I would want all of these: Fred lupin tonks and Harry’s parents.
I would have to pick Fred. While everyone else's death was terrible, his was the only one where he had family leftover. Teddy Lupin was raised just fine and he's the only other one who had family leftover.
Fred it just makes me so sad to think of George without his Twin. Also Tonks and Lupins death was just cruel they were such great characters and people and had just started a family!
Can we pls just bring them all back?!
Emma wrote: "Alright, I'm going with...Florean Fortescue! Remember? The ice-cream vendor in Diagon Alley? He was kidnapped by death eaters? He was so nice! Ha, I'm half kidding, gotta go with Dobby on this one."Good. I second this.
It’s really hard to choose, but I would choose Dobby and Dumbledore to bring back because Dumbledore was a really important character in the Harry Potter series. It did make sense that he died, however, I wish that he didn’t. As for Dobby, I don’t think he should have died. It was an emotional way to die, but he was one of my favorite characters. It didn’t exactly make sense for some characters to die, JKR was basically choosing random characters to die. Like Fred, for example.
I think that the series would be totally different if some of these characters came back to life. I hate to say this, but some characters were meant to die.
Sirius. I don't agree with all you saying Snape. Yes, he was good, but he was still a prick to Harry and every Gryffindor student ever. Along with most teachers. He was a jerk, so I don't really care if he's a good guy, in my eyes, he's still a jerk. So I say Sirius, He was never mean to Harry, and when he was hateful towards someone, it was for good reason and he had an excuse. He also wasn't a Death Eater. So yes, I say Sirius.
Tonks Lupin
Voldemort
Snape
I say Snape, Tonks, and Lupin because they did so much for Harry and their death just disturbed me and I screamed into a pillow after I read their deaths for about ten minutes.
Voldemort? Well, I'm a loyal Slytherin AND I just like Voldemort as a character and villain.
This is tough because I found Snape’s death to be the saddest by far, easily, but at the same time I feel like his death was the most essential element of his redemption arc. I probably wouldn’t have cared very much for his character at all if he’d lived. And so, I’m just gonna have to say Fred and call it a day.
No offense, but I don't really see why anyone would want to bring Snape back? Sure, he loved Lily and protected Harry at times, but he was also a horrible person to Harry, Hermione, and Ron (as well as the other Gryffindors) for no good reason! Does nobody else see this all throughout the series? His end was noble and just, and it rightfully ended there. That being said, Sirius Black would be the best bring-back. He was Harry's father figure (aside from the amazing Hagrid) and Harry losing him was the most devastating death.

Said perfectly 💕
Megan wrote: "No offense, but I don't really see why anyone would want to bring Snape back? He goes to Hogwarts and is finally happy when he finds three great friends. Then his best friend dies and he goes to jail for over a decade for something he didn't do. He doesn't get to spend any time with his godson. He gets out and has to stay on the run or hide away in his family home he loathes. All the while the traitor Wormtail is somewhere with Voldemort. Then he's killed off before he gets to spend almost any time with Harry. He just cannot have nice things apparently. (God bless fan fiction writers.)
Remus or Tonks so that one of them could raise Teddy but perhaps the one that came back would be unhappy so perhaps not. So for Harry’s sake, I’d possibly pick Sirius, that guy deserved to live even though he was a total bully in his school days but Harry would have some family of his own if Sirius came back, and if Lily/James weren’t an option then Harry deserves someone that cares like his godfather. I feel the same as those who disagree about Snape though, he may have done a noble thing but he was still a terrible teacher and quite honestly he’s probably happier not coming back to life anyway.
I wouldn't bring any back to lofe. If anything, I would kill a few. Literally like, no one died. It makes the story less real. On the other hand, Tonks was awesome.
I would bring back Albus Dumbledore. He was such a great support to Harry. On the other hand, if he didn't die, Snape wouldn't be trusted by Voldemort, but I would still bring him back.
Dumbledore was manipulative old coot.
Definitely Fred Weasley. It’s so heartbreaking seeing his whole huge family have to grieve his death. Poor George was never the same. Cedric is probably next though, since he was so innocent, he never even had a chance it happened so quick. He was a great person
