I naturally awake early and try to write then. But I take notes when I'm waiting somewhere. Part of one book was written in a spiral note while I was sitting on a bus waiting for skiers at Sierra At Tahoe Ski Ranch.

I run. It takes about two miles to unwind my mind and free it up to get back to a deeper, creative space. I bring my phone with me and often times I will stop and outline a whole concept or illustration into Evernote right there on the trail before I lose it. Then I try to sit down as soon as I get back and finish what I started.

In that case, I use voice memo to record my thoughts until I can write it down.

LOL! Maybe that's why I write on my day of rest. So my characters aren't cranky!

You've got the new technology down Jill! I'm just able to add character notes on my phone but a whole concept? Probably not!
