You weren't wrong. I kept putting it down and then 10 minutes later found myself reading it again, thankfully it's been quiet at work this week.Loved the character of PC Grant and the humour. Will definately be picking up the follow-ups.
Now for 'B' and in memory of his recent passing I am going to read Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes.

The sequels are just as good - they seem to be very popular at the moment everyone on Goodreads has either read or is planning to read them.
@Dave I am now 14th on the reserve list for Whispers at the library, was 30th so lots of people wanting to read it.

Just finished Something Wicked... Must admit I found it hard to get into, but did ultimately enjoy it.Gonna read something that seems to be quite popular on here for 'C'. Plan to watch the film so thought I'd check out the book first.
Time to ignore the HYPE and see if 'The Hunger Games' is all it's cracked up to be.
Well, I have to admit that i really enjoyed that, and am intrigued to know how it will continue. That will have to wait though need something for 'D' now.

Very disappointed. Only a couple of stories were any good in my opinion. Couldn't finish the last one, it was all over the place.Gonna try some Crime Noir for E. with James Elroy's Black Dahlia.

Seems like you are making good progress through your a-z Dave. I just started and s seemed as good-a-place as any, so my challenge began. Be interested to see what else you are reading.

Been introduced to so many books that I want to read since joining GR and the A-Z format makes it a little easier to decide what to read next.

Metro 2033 is set in Russia, so the place names have taken some getting used to, but its starting to flow along nicely now.
Finished Metro 2033. A good read, but it ended rather abruptly and some of the translation was a bit dodgy.Returning to a series I started a while ago for H with Charlie Higsons The Fear.
Finished Higson's The Fear. Love this series and just found out there is a fourth book out soon.Skipping on to K for my next read as I couldn't leave Mr Kings 11/22/63 sitting unread any longer.

Yeah, he had a bit of a blip, but really enjoyed Under The Dome and this one really sucked me in. Great characters and descriptions. Still got his latest Dark Tower entry to read too.
@Dave, just re-read Under the Dome and enjoyed it better the second time, probably as I listened to it and the reader was excellent!

Going to partake of a few horror reads as Halloween is fast approaching. Just finished an anthology by Edward Lee called Carnal Surgery. Some pretty good if graphic shorts. Now starting David Moody's Hater.
Just finished Hater. Started slow but built to a bloody finish. Will definately pick up the follow-up
Just finished A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. A quick read and not what I was expecting. Not ashamed to say that it brought a tear to my eyes at the end.
