You can head to blogger.com or wordpress.com start a free account and get started! It just takes time to mess around with the template, learn how to work it and get everything started. I played around with it for a month before I really got my blog off the ground.

Carolina i have a book blog that I really enjoy working on. I recommend wordpress.com just because it's the bigest blogging platform and it's SUPER easy to use, gives awesome free templates and a lot of freedom to do whatever you want. You can check out my book blog too, it would be a great help, also to get a feel of what direction you want to go in with your own :) Mine is: http://coveringallcovers.wordpress.com

Making a blog is super easy! I would recommend using Blogger instead of Wordpress (I've tried both and generally I like the Blogger experience a lottt better). It took me forever to figure out how to make my blog look cute and decide on a final design (I still switch my design around a lot!) but it is a great website.

Names are really hard to come up with! Think about it for awhile and let the name reflect yourself and what you will be blogging about. You can work in your own interests like some have coffee, animals, paranormal, dystopian, dancing, or something in the name if it is what interests them.

Thank you very much! Do you mean how did I add them on post or?
To add them on post you should use this code <*img src="URL HERE"*> (remove the stars)

And if you're wondering how did I made them, I made them in photoshop.

Ana C (winterana) Do you recommend tumblr for a book blog?

message 15: by Clarté (new)

Clarté I've just started one on tumblr. I know it's time to get it going, but I'm really impatient. I don't know though whether people like following book blogs and reviewers on tumblr, time will tell, I guess :) Still, since it seems way more easier to set up one blog there, I think you should give it a try! :)

Kaina (kainal) | 13 comments I started my book blog about 3 months ago and love blogger I believe it's more easy for people to follow your website because the majority of people have google accounts, wordpress is awesome as well but I think it's for more professional web owners I don't know it just wasn't for me :)I actually really like Tumblr blogs just something about the vibes and the look. It really just depends on what you want to do. If you want you can check out my blog you can find it here here:

Kim (snugglemybooks) | 5 comments Use wordpress, because google tends to delete blogs randomly over at the blogger world. I switched over after hearing that.

A very important thing is to back up your blog all the time just in case! I think it is all personal preference. I have heard wordpress is great but blogger is really easy for me to use. I have no clue how to work wordpress. Someday I might move over. Great tips can be found at many blogs. Lots have posts about what they did when they started. Posting lots of reviews and joining some memes and giveaway hops are great ways to get started and get people visiting your blog.

Nikki Palm | 4 comments One cool thing when you are a book blogger is that Good Reads has several widgets to advertise things on your blog. For instance, you can put your favorite book shelf, reading challange or profile info on your blog. Most of which just require copying a code and inserting it into your blog. If you are using blogger you would go to your blog, then to layout... click add a gadget... a new window will pop up scroll down until you see add html/java script.... When you click on it something will pop up telling you to configure your gadget. You can title it (Ex: To Read Shelf) then in the box marked content you paste the code that you've copied from Good Reads. Click save and then your done! After that all you have to do is decide where you want the gadget to appear on your site. From the layout screen you can drag and drop your Good Reads gadget/widget anywhere you want it to appear. Once that has been decided click save arangement. Last but not least click view blog... now you can check out your handy work

I hope that helps some of you. If you need other help please feel free to shoot me a message on here and I will do my best to help. I am pretty familiar with blogger and am a blind user if that tells you how easy it is to use:)

Hey:) I just checked out your blog. It looks like you've got a really good start. I did have one suggestion. I was thinking you should add a follow link of some kind. On blogger in the layout and then add a gadget section you can add something called a follower gadget and also a follow by EMail gadget. Either one or both would be a good asset for your site. It will allow fans of your reviews to be able to sign up to be your follower. It will also notify them when you post something new in their Email inbox.

Keep up the good work:)
