Hi, I am new to the site and the group. I was wondering if anyone wants to help me find some more books to read. I love Butcher and Briggs, not so much of a fan of Harrison. Any one got any thoughts.

Jean ~ Kindle Queen (jkat9) | 208 comments Some of my favorites are:

Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews , Rosemary and Rue (October Daye, #1) by Seanan McGuire , Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill , and First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones .

It kind of depends on what you're looking for. I'm a big Patricia Briggs fan and love the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews just as much (and maybe a teeny bit better). The first half of Magic Bites can be tough to get into (massive info dump), but it gets so much better. In general, I think fans of Mercy Thompson also end up loving Kate Daniels too.

You should also try out Hounded (Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne . Fans of the Dresden Files also usually like the Iron Druid Chronicles.

It'll be interesting to see what others recommend. Good luck! You'll probably never be at a loss as to what to read with this group. Prepare to have a gigantic TBR pile. : )

I do not know what I am truely looking for, really I am looking at the covers then reading summary then look at review and then put it on the tbr list and from there find it at my libray. Yea, from the looks of the list of topics I can tell. I tired Kim Harrison but it was lacking something, like she was trying to forces the story.

Jean ~ Kindle Queen (jkat9) | 208 comments I haven't read any Kim Harrison books, but I do have Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison in my TBR pile.

Have you read Patricia Briggs' other fantasy books? I really liked the Raven duology, Raven's Shadow (Raven Set, #1) by Patricia Briggs and Raven's Strike (Raven Set, #2) by Patricia Briggs , as well as the Hurog duology, Dragon Bones (Hurog, #1) by Patricia Briggs and Dragon Blood (Hurog, #2) by Patricia Briggs . All of them are pretty good actually. She's the reason I got into urban fantasy in the first place. I had to check out what those "other" books she was writing were like (i.e., the Mercy Thompson series).

My aunt got me into her and Butcher, I have not looked into her others I might do that when I go to the libray next.

I tried Butchers other series but couldn't get into it. I had a friend who liked his other series but couldn't get into Dresden. But I love Dresden so much that I named my tux cat Mab and my next name for a puppy is Mouse.

Becca Mills (beccamills) | 21 comments Jessica, all of Jean's recommendations are super, IMO. I'm an especially big fan of Seanan McGuire. She has a new series, too: Discount Armageddon (InCryptid, #1) by Seanan McGuire . It's lighter in tone than the October Daye series. The first book was a very fun read. I'd also recommend Karen Marie Moning's Fever series, which starts here: Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning . I think it's excellent.

I personally think you need to get a puppy as soon as possible if you already have a name picked out. : )

Doug Jamha (jamha) | 4 comments Jessi, if you like Butcher, try Simon R. Green, Nightside series. As Michelle would say, "Not my cuppa", but very well written and like a british version of Butcher.
first one is " something from the Nightside" . And he is in most public libraries.
