Teresa Nice website.

message 3610: by Chris (new)

Chris Bieniek | 8 comments I have a question, are readers of Young Adult more voracious than other genres. It seems they have more energy, quicker responses to posts, and just eat up more books. Just wondering since I like their enthusiasm.

Rose (The_Calm_Reader) (roselittlebookowl75) | 1372 comments I have met my goal of 20 books for the year & it's only October! Woot! So proud of myself! Will now shoot for 25!!

I honestly don't know Chris, I've never really compared. I like adult books too myself.

And YA itself is not a genre, its an age range, like a demographic.

Congrats Rose!

message 3617: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Chris: I haven't really compared, but I think it's more individual people than any specific genre. It could be that it seems young adult readers are reading more because a large number of young adults spend a lot of time online on social media sites, since they're generally more of the age when people are hooked on those sites. But that's just a guess, and for all I know I'm way off the mark.

Rose: That's fantastic! Well done on completing your reading goal!

Rose (The_Calm_Reader) (roselittlebookowl75) | 1372 comments Thanks everyone!!!! First year I've set a goal & proud that I met it!!

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments I just had two concerts at Roy Thomson Hall (the biggest music hall in Toronto.)
I performed Marche Slave by Tchaikovsky with my orchestra (Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra) and we were joined by Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Stephane Deneve, to make 140 musicians on stage!
An amazing experience, something I'll never forget.

That's amazing, Daniel. I can only imagine how beautiful it was - I love symphonies. That many people playing would truly be a sight to see and hear.

That is SO COOL!! Seriously, I'm in awe!

When I was in high school, our chorus preformed with the Des Moines Symphony once, and that was really cool! We did "The Hallelujah Chorus." Sounded really cool with a full orchestra! I still remember it really well, so you're right, you will never forget this night!

Thanks Teresa and Kynndra! Last year I read over 300 books, but this year I've been busy with lots of things and haven't had as much reading time. So I'm honestly thrilled I hit 100, but at the same time, kind of bummed a little I guess.
