Is it just me or was I the only one who didn't enjoy this book?

Emma lol i bet so! i just pretended to like these books for my friends

message 52: by T.J. (new) - rated it 5 stars

T.J. I liked the first one better...this one was kinda slow and I wanted her to hurry up and find Ky and when she did, I wanted a bit more for the reunion! And then (view spoiler)

Gerchia Gosh this book was boring. It felt like nothing happened. The only time I felt the plot progressing was when she was that guy...can't even remember his name. Haven't made an effort to read the other books in the series.

message 54: by Lexi (new)

Lexi Martin im enjoying the 2nd one a little more. more action.

message 55: by Beth (new) - rated it 3 stars

Beth in all honesty it was okay. i felt it was just setting the secence for the next book. some bits were good others where pretty shit.

Lol. Hahahahaha

Asser I also didn't enjoy this book. It was boring. And I've wasted money buying this. But in all fairness, the cover is pretty.

I didn't like the book, but not HATED. Hated is just too mean.
It didn't made me angry or anything else.. just.. pokerface. nothing. empty. bored.

Me too, I found ..."

Get I get an amen up in here? :P Thats exactly how I felt about it.

message 60: by Houa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Houa I honestly didn't really enjoy this book either, at first I wanted to buy it, I finally read it by checking it out from the library & when I finished, I was disappointed. That's why I'm not planning on reading the rest of the series.

Chrissy I liked it. Maybe the difference was that I listened to the audiobook though. Perhaps not so much for the characters, but for the world itself, being a fan of utopian/dystopian themes. I will say it was very predictable. And I did like the second book better, as there was more "action"/more discovery.

Cameron i didnt hate it but i didnt really like it that much

Michaela This book just irritated me. I thought it wasn't very realistic. (Maybe I just didn't like Ky?) The writing wasn't very fantastic either, good but lacking. Not anything that'll make me finish the series.

Elspeth I hated this book. The more I think about it the more I hate it.

Kerri I liked Matched I didn't like the sequel Crossed. Crossed took too long to get anywhere. It's one of those YA novels that doesn't cross over for adults to read.

Janie I posted a topic a long time ago how this book is clichéd and slightly boring. I didn't even know it was "popular". I honestly find this fact surprising. But when I think about it, it’s not too surprising. Dystopian love triangles tend to be well-received by teenagers of the female sort.

message 67: by Ysa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ysa loveday it was okay

C.penn All my customers at work were making a big fuss about this and Delirium, so I picked up both of them, and needless to say it was a poor choice. Mainly because Delirium and Matched are nearly the same story/premise and I was constantly making comparisons between the two. I reached the following conclusion.

I did not love Matched.

I got through it, and thought for a moment, perhaps I could love it, and then I attempted the second book and gave up. I have not felt the need to abandon a book in a long time. I'm not sure what went wrong in Matched for me.
I think the concept of a matched society was intriguing, I liked the mix up with the cards. It might have been the chemistry between Cassia and both of her love interests, I just didn't quite believe it, I was dying for that pounding hearts feeling and forbidden/secret love. The recklessness and danger, and still didn't get it. While, I felt Delirium, although admittedly dramatically romantic had more momentum, a sense of a love that was worth fighting for.

But it certainly wasn't an easy read for me.

message 69: by Megh (new) - rated it 2 stars

Megh It just seemed like everything was a little too predictable and over the top. The world was so severe. It was too like every other dystopic novel out there.

message 70: by Faye (new) - rated it 3 stars

Faye It was an OK book, but then I read other books and now I don't like it at all. It was slow and took me awhile to finish.

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

i thought it would be real GOOD but it was ok. i gave it 4 stars because of the characters and the writing style which is beautiful but at first half of the pages, its really hard to get through,it was so boringggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg. after that,it gets better
