Jamie This book didn't appeal to me. It got good reviews and I was so excited to read it but in reality it was hard for me to get through. Was I the only one?

Amanda No, you're not the only one. I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as I expected to based on reviews. i can't quite put my finger on what it was that fell short for me, but I was seriously disappointed.

Jamie This is why I don't like going off of reviews. Cause I'm just disappointed with the critic. I mean the summary made is seem interesting but for some reason I couldn't stick to it. It's like Mockingjay.

Cristah Cochran I think it was a good idea. The concept was something I was very interested in. But then the writing and the characters and the story itself were just lame.

Najla Madwar I was very excited too when I first read the reviews, but I wasn't disappointed that much. I got bored in the beginning but things got better after the first half. It's a very 'calm' story based on rational thinking and reasoning with one's right to choose and decide.

No much action or exciting adventures. Too much details and describing.

But it was good.

Nakia Graham It took me almost an entire year to force myself to finish this book. I really didn't like it at all. It was one of the worst teen books i've read, but I guess I shouldn't have had high expectations when I started it...

Danielle it's not just you..i was bored and there was no action...i felt like the author had a good idea she just didn't deliver it

I hated it. I just read it hoping it would get better, and in the end, I ended up just reading it for my Book Club.

Atlantic Gem No, you're not the only one. I read it a second time and liked it though.

message 10: by Erin (new) - rated it 2 stars

Erin the only exiting part of this book was the first chapter or two. the rest was boring and tiresome. most of the characters annoyed me, and most of the time all people did was run up and down hills. a very disappointing read.

Jenna no, you were not the only one who disliked it. I was super excited to read it but I lost interest after the first three chapters or so.

Carolyn it was a decent love triangle but a pretty cliche dystopian plot in general

Colleen It really was just another Hunger Games rip-off. There was nothing new or creative. The characters were flat and everything felt so contrived. It might suit younger readers who want to read Hunger Games, but the violence may be too much for them. But for older readers, there are so many better choices.

Tania Naa its just u : that book was amaizingly awesome i love it frm start to finnish

Gabrielle One of my BFs told me Matched was amazingly good. I guess we have different opinions, because I really disliked this book. It was a waste of time! So no, you are not the only one.

Nicole Camp I liked the beginning, made it through the middle, but towards the end of the book I'd had enough. The idea was fantastic - I gave that 4 stars, but it lost me somewhere.

Tihitina I don't really like it. I mean it was okay and all but I don't think I like the idea of the Hunger Games influencing all the dystopian novels that are coming out now. I really liked the Hunger Games but all the other books coming out that are based on the books aren't really all that good. Sure some are really interesting but none of them are as good. I found this book kind of disappointing really.

Astoria I didn't like it so you are not.

My expectations for this book were high, lots of great reviews about it here and there and then when I read it was nothing really new. To me it felt a little bit like reading Delirium again. I don't know it just felt the same.

Daria I didn't like it either

Nikki I hated it too dont worry

I liked it, but I pretty soon figured out what made this book less than great. MATCHED was all build up for the 2nd book. It painted the world and introduced characters. I can appreciate what this story tried to accomplish but it has no real meat. Know what I mean?

Shelly I thought the book was boring. Everyone I know who read it has told me that the second book is much better. I am on the fence if I want to read it since I felt the first did too much setting up for the second book. Plus it forgot to have a plot. Which is why I felt it was boring and I didn't really care about the characters. Nothing made me care if she picked one guy over the other. So who knows, I may just read the second book when I have no other books to read, until then I am reading something else.

Maya Cristah wrote: "I think it was a good idea. The concept was something I was very interested in. But then the writing and the characters and the story itself were just lame."

the more i think of this book .. the more idk annoyed i am. i liked the book but i couldnt like it a lot. the second book to me dragged on way too long. i wanted more.. i will read the third book just to see where it will head

Jessica It is not one of my favorite stories, but I still liked it. There are worse books out there. Sure, it didn't have a lot of adventure, but the next books are sure to have it. I think we needed this book to build up the characters, and allow them to build a relationship. And we also get to see Cassia grow and realize that the Society is not all it is cracked up to be. I feel sure that the next book will have a lot more excitement, based on how this one ended.

Zoë I only read it because I liked the cover. I liked the beginning, but then it got really boring. I don't want to read the second. I just barely managed to finish it after trying for a couple months.

Andrea Blanch i thought it was great, but i didn't enjoy it at all. yes i liked the beginning, but it was a struggle finishing the book. but yeah, i still read the second book hoping it would make a difference but still... haha you get my point. :))

Avani I thought it was a little plain for its increasingly detailed and creative genre. It was okay, though.

message 28: by Jodi (new) - rated it 3 stars

Jodi It was kind of boring for me. The beginning was okay, seeing how the world worked and all, when I got near the middle of the book I started to hope I would finish it soon, but I didn't because I thought something exciting was about to happen. Unfortunately for me the "exciting" part didn't happen until the very ending of the book which was kinda..sucky.

But, I did still buy the second book. I'm hoping the series will get better, but too many people are saying the second book is worse than the first so I'll probably end up selling to my local bookstore.

miguel It was just too plain and boring.. they should've changed it to Contemporary Romance and not dystopia even though the world they're in is futuristic.

message 30: by Erin (new) - rated it 1 star

Erin Hunt I quit reading after 75% of the book. I kept waiting for something good to happen, but never got there. It is nice to see I didn't miss anything.

message 31: by Bri (new) - rated it 3 stars

Bri i hated it. it so boring. nothing to it!

message 32: by Lexi (new)

me too

message 36: by Ami (new) - rated it 2 stars

Ami This book was just soooo BORING!! And the main character reminded me of Bella Swan, as in she had no interests or anything interesting about her. Plus Xander was a much better character than Ky. That is until he was OK with Cassia loving some other guy.

The whole idea of the book is such a great idea, but the writing and the officials were just uninteresting.

miguel Bree wrote: "i hated it. it so boring. nothing to it!"

How come you rated it 4 stars (really liked it)?

Feminista No you are not the only one. I didn't enjoy this book much.

miguel you too.. Nabk11... how come rate it 4 stars?

Me too, I found it boring and predictable!

Bianca I didn't either!! Thought it was too lacking in depth, maybe?? It's like we get that Xander is hot and perfect and way too good for you, but we also get that you'll go for sexy Ky because he's amazingly artistic... Whatever. I didnt finish it...

Bianca B wrote: "Ugh! I couldn't Finnish it!"

You know you love the Hunger Games when you read that sentence and get excited because you think you read the word "Finnick" (Although I hated Mockingjay...)

Nicole I didn't love it either. I never finished the book.

Emily It wasn't my fav. I liked the whole romance thing, but otherwise it seemed lame. I like action and it didn't seem to have the amount I wanted.

The second book was a little bit better. It was still boring and didn't appeal to me.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

they were ok, not as good as Delirium or Divergent

message 46: by Dana (new) - rated it 3 stars

Dana It was okay, but with me, most the time i can read a book as fast as finishing it in one day if i like it, but i kept getting bored and distracted so it took me awhile to actually finish it. I dont know if im going to read the next book or not.

Sadie Haddock I hated this book. You haterz aren't the only ones.

message 48: by Emma (last edited Aug 01, 2012 06:02PM) (new) - rated it 2 stars
