2. What surprised you the most about milk (Day 6)?

February (thefebruary) The comment about the skim milk threw me for a loop! To think that'd been my milk of choice prior to going to a plant based diet! Some of these things I wish I knew years ago.

Roxanne V (RoxanneV) | 15 comments I am going to have to try to share this with my mother. She thinks skim milk is the best source for calcium and "skim" because of its low fat content.

Donna (donna_de) I like her suggestions for seeking out milk alternatives. I have recently been making smoothies with macadamia nuts, as the macadamia nuts and water when broken down create a "milk" taste. This also fits into her chapter on going nuts, where nuts satiate and don't lead to added weight gain. I have not given up milk or dairy but it is nice to be prodded to try different healthy alternatives.
