Allison In order that you should read :) (that were on your list)
1. Hush Hush
2. Rangers Apprentice
3. Percy Jackson
4. Stormbreaker (Alex Rider)

But! I just have to recommend this to everyone, it's not very well known but it's amazing :)
The Demon King this whole series is soooooooooooo good!!! :)

message 3: by Hannah (new)

Hannah Recommended:
Percy Jackson Series - Read this soon! Its a great series, but be warned. If you've already seen the movie, its vastly different from the movie.

I Am Number Four - A bit slow at first, but a great book nontheless.

NOT Recommended:
House of Night Series - I found this to be one of the worst series I've ever read. The characters are one dimensional and theres no real plot. It was just bad all around.

P.S. The Gone Series by Michael Grant, The Shades of London series by Maureen Johnson, and any book by John Green is great.

Yeah, Just finished the host, and that needed a lot of patience :) I'll keep the Eragon series 'till the end.
I've never seen the Lord of the rings movies, (Bought them coz they were, like, $1 each or something....) Will I still like them?
and i have read the shiver series, and only started liking them once I'd finished the whole series....
What is The Scorpio races about? Is it Dystopian?
By the way, Maggie Steifvater has a new series coming out. The Raven Boys. Just thought you'd like to know.
and I don't really like Dystopian novels...Will this change my mind? What is it about? (The blurb didn't really make sense to me........)

Cool, thanks. I only got the 'Stormbreaker' book because i was upset that Alex Pettyfer didn't take the role of Jace from the mortal instruments. Good to know it has a good story, as well as the cover :)
Is the ranger's apprentice series really better than Percy Jackson? Cool.

Yeah, I read the Blurb to the Percy Jackson series and it was totally different. I flicked through the graphic novel, (Which i now own) and it looks real different, too.
Okay, I watched the movie and hated greatly disliked it. Will i like the book better? The power of six. Is that the next book in the series? is there any other books?

and I'm planning to buy the Gone series. Can you tell me a bit about it, without giving anything away? seems like a really interesting series. Is his book Bzerk, a part of the series? If not, is it worth reading, too?

message 7: by Hannah (new)

Hannah I've never seen the movie, but everyone I know who has read the book and seen the movie, say the book is WAY better. Yes, The Power of Six is the next in the series. I think there's going to be one more book after that.

Basically the Gone series is about one small town where everyone 15 and over disappears at the same time. There's also something keeping all the kids in the town. Also, people are getting powers. Its about how they learn to survive and trying to figure out why all of this is happening. Its a great series. Everyone I know who has read it, has become obsessed with it.

No, its not. I've never read Bzerk.

Folami Morris You have some good choices. I don't think anything on your list is better than demons at deadnight, though. Hush hush was okay percy jackson is middle grade. I hated Fallen. Boyfriend from hell was good as was hex hall.

Andrea Cefalo I really enjoyed The Graveyard Book.

Okay. Thank You. That answers a lot of my questions.
I thought Bzerk was in the series, because the cover looks, like, exactly the same and it's by the same author.
And What is the Last book in the Gone series? and how many books are in it? and Spin-off books?
And I'll read the 'I am number Four' series soon. Thanks.

-Yeah, I have a lot of questions. Sorry about that.

Are all of those YA books? If not, can you tell me which ones are? I only read YA, sorry.

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ Andrea wrote: "I really enjoyed The Graveyard Book."

What's that about? Is it YA?

-Sorry everyone for all the questions. I am a curious girl :)

Nooooooooooooooooooooo, the Eragon series is freaking amazing. I started reading it when I was ten. Don't save it until the end!

The series is going to have six books in all and five are currectly out: (in order) Gone, Hunger, Lies, Plague, Fear, and Light. So far, there are no spinoff books.

I hope this helps!

I would, but I'm attempting to read 75 books this year, and i don't want 4 books to put me behind.....
Also consider the fact that i am missing the last book and had trouble reading a 613 page book: The Host. I don't think i could last 900 pages.....

message 17: by Ree (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ree definitely Lord of the Rings! I'm on it right now and I love every page. It's just so easy to get sucked up in the world of Middle-earth. but well, yes, it is a very long book, but I think worth your time :)

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ Cool. I'll read it soon, hopefully. that's if i can find book 1 for it.
Is there only the three books? if so, than i am only missing one, the first one. darn it!

Anyway..

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ I have Finished 'Torn' and thought it was. THE. BEST. BOOK. EVER!!!!
Better than the first one, in my opinion! hooked from the very first page!
I'm so glad that she is publishing-yet another series. her new one is called:
Wake
and... Lullaby
and...Tidal
and...Elegy
and... I think that's it! (I'm not sure which is the first one, Wake or Tidal...) anyway...

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ Well, just finished a bunch of Manga that i borrowed from a library (Fruit's basket #1 and Vampire Kisses: Blood Relatives.) and Just want to say that they are amazing and totally worth the read!
-Also half-way (61%) through, Ascend and will be finishing it, soon :)

Oh, Well.

*I have been updating my reading progress on the first page, so you know what i have left to read.*

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ Okay, Just finished the Fruits basket manga, Vol. 2.
Should i finish the next volume or start a new series and then read it?

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ Okay, so i have just finished all the books that i borrowed from my library, and i am now taking suggestions again. I'm currently reading the Percy Jackson series and am on book one. Keep the suggestions going (You can post your own 'What to read next' on this discussion if you want!)

I also have another question to ask...Well i'm having trouble finding these books in Australia, and i just wanted to know if you knew whether i can by them in this country. Thanks (List is below)
-Soulbound, Heather Brewer (New Release)
-Such a Rush, Jennifer Echols (New release)

I might not be able to find them because of the fact that the are new release, but, any information will be helpful. Thank you!

Which one?

I'm going to finish the Percy Jackson series first, because my order for 'Sweet Evil, By Wendy Higgins' decided that it wanted to take another three weeks to arrive :(

message 32: by Jalyn (last edited Jul 19, 2012 09:47AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jalyn Out of the books you already have, this is what I would read first:
1. the Fallen series by Lauren Kate. This series is really good. They all sit on my favorites shelf :)
2. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. So good!!
3. House of Night by P.C. and Kristin Cast. This series can get a little repetitive (there are reminders of what happened in the last book at the beginning of each new book and the books aren't long so it gets a little annoying if you're a fast reader), but it's also good. Zoey makes a lot of stupid mistakes, but that's what makes her seem real.
4. Revenants by Amy Plum. This one is different than your typical vampire/witch/werewolf YA, so I found that refreshing.

You should also check out:
1. Divergent (book 1) and Insurgent (book 2) by Veronica Roth. I also set myself a goal to read a large number of books this year and of the 53 that I have read, these two are my favorites!!
2. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. Another book that isn't your typical vamp/witch/were.
3. Blood Like Poison series by M. Leighton. I bought this series on amazon for my kindle for really cheap and they are actually pretty good :)
4. the Shadow Falls series by C. C. Hunter. Camp for Vampires, Witches, Fae, Werewolves, the works. I love all of the characters in this one. They're easy to connect to.
5. Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side and Jessica Rules the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey. Aahh so good!! Love!!
6. A Great and Terrible Beauty series by Libba Bray. Also on my favorites shelf!!

Hope this helps!! :)
