Did the author explain why Gideon has those sexual problems while sleeping? Why he was about to rape Eva in his sleep. I'm not sure if the author explained this in the book. I was waiting to find out, but then the book ended and I never find out. Can someone explain what happened?

Harman, Sylvia, author, didn't explain but eludes that its part of his past and his "issues" which will be further discussed in the next book that comes out in Oct. titled "REFLECTED IN YOU". This will be a 3 book series. We should get to know Gideon better in this upcoming installment!
Hope that answers your question/inquiry! :)
The book alludes to rape. He is not into 'anal play' when Eva suggests it and in his sleep he wants to give it back to the perp in a violent manner.
I am hoping that book 2 will go into his issues and then we can fix them both is book 3. It is driving me crazy to understand what happened to him. Also what happened in his house that makes him hate it there. As he tells Eva that his childhood home is the place of his nightmares. Did his step father do something or his mother???? As I said it is driving me crazy. Hurry up October.
From my understanding and interpretation of the book (Bared to you), it has to do with him being abused (most likely sexually) when he was younger. I am assuming it has something to do with his childhood home and the reason why he hates the house so much/as well as his mistrust of his brother, perhaps a friend of his brother, a tutor?...

I just hope we get a better view of his issue in book 2 and don't have to wait until book 3 for everything to come out. I'm guessing it has to do after his mother remarried...
I agree with the comment about him being sexually abused most likely in his childhood home. I also believe that it has a connection to his brother as well.
This was my "coming off FSoG book" and I am dying for the second installment. I should have waited for the entire series. Guess I need to learn patience-definitely not my better virtue!! With all this being said, I really, really liked the story!
I think he experienced some type of sexual abuse and his brother was involved in some way. I don't think his brother abused him per se because he was much younger than Gideon but I think he is involved somehow.

Just saying in another posted might been his mom who abuse but what if it was his father and his dad couldn't take what he did too his son that why he killed himself. They said it was something else he didthat why did himself in. But I am wondering now.
The shrink that did him during his 'traumatic' years taught him to vent his anger via torrid "jack off" --- and its one reason why he had those horrid nightmares. Also, her mother knew but never helped her son -- reason why he had the feeling that his Mom doesn't loved him enough!
