wow! thanks Praj for supplying this gorgeous music just at the right moment for me. This is so up to date that I just only now entered into my currently reading list started it yesterday, but I am going to listen to this now while Im reading Cirque Du Soleil's book the Spark.
Reading Bolano I listened to Basque music mostly, and Lhasa

ah one more Lhasa in English that seems so appropriate for the bookhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWpPkQ...
This is not music, but listening to Lhasa De Sela and anticipating TSD reminded me of a politically active Chilean/Australian artist I used to know in the 80's called Juan Davila:

Love it!
Thanks so much, Jim and Ian.Ian, I have thought the same thing of you when I have seen you post music links - there's a lot of overlap in our musical taste. It's great to have a thread like this so we can combine love of books with love of music. Warning - I am as obsessed with music as I am with books, so I could get carried away here!

Ian, that must have been a great show! I haven't seen Dirty Three live (would have loved to), but I did see Cat Power once. It was a good show - she managed her stage fright well.
Ooh yes, love Dream Syndicate and Steve Wynn solo as well. The Complete Live at Raji's is one of my favorite live albums.
Chan did walk off for about 10 minutes. I don't know if it was a problem, the guys just did an instrumental.
I love Live at Rajis too. I've also got a lot of early boots and rarities.

Sadly, I don't have bootlegs, nor do I have many rarities, although I did end up getting deluxe editions of DS studio albums with rarities tagged onto the end bc I am a sucker for those albums for favorite bands. I am a record executive's marketing dream.... :(

Blue Boy is my favorite song by Orange Juice - listening to it always makes me smile.
The instrumentation in Just a Girl is just lovely. It was good to read about Andy Diagram's career. I want to check out The Spaceheads now - I haven't listened to them before.
