For my review of Gift from the Sea I wanted to use several pics; while they vary in width, they are all the say height (80) and look like this:
To paste in a picture from photobucket.com you would normally use the html code, but when adjusting the size, you need to use the Direct link as pointed to with the red arrow in Screen 1 and close-up in Screen 2 and paste between the first set of quotation marks " ":

Question --- what if you buy an image and have downloaded it to your PC? I can't seem to get it to show up by just placing the location where the URL is?

JoLene, I would post it on your profile photos and then copy the URL from there. Or in your private group, if you have one.

Thats awesome. I loved looking at all those libraries. I told my husband that I was going to go on a trip to find my favorite library and he just started laugh along with my kids. My daughter said that's going to be my home one day. Lol
LMBO! Yes, love libraries. Now that brick & mortar bookstores are so few and far between, they are all the more precious.
So true. My husband and I use to love going to Bordes bookstore because it was closer than B&N until they closed but it never stopped me from going to the library but it was just nice to be able to sit and have a cup of coffee or tea while I read the book covers to see which one was interesting enough to buy or even to see which bargains there were. Ah such nice memories. I hate that it closed because B&N is such a long drive and I hate the traffic to get there too.
Yes, you know it is bad when you have friends that aren't obsessive readers say, "Geeze. I really miss bookstores being around."

That one looks like the standard width 40 height 100 as copied from the "some html is ok". Try changing the width to 100 and height to 150 and see how that looks?

Help! So I can't upload from My Pictures on my pc, right?When I go to Google Images and click on the pic I want, the link has 20 or so lines.
The first pic I'm trying to find is Ambon Scorpionfish. TIA!

Sometimes in google images you need to click on the "show image" first to get a page with just the image, and then use that link

If you're working on tablet (as I do) and have problems with "some HTML is ok", you can upload picture to site like http://tinypic.com/and then copy/paste the 1st row of uploaded picture, you can, also, fit the width you want. or you can literally just copy the description posted in "some html is ok", then upload the picture on tinypic and copy/paste last link of uploaded picture into the <> - >
its a simple cheat for tablets

POSTING A PIC
As an example, we are going to post this picture:

The internet location of this picture, or URL, is here. Just right mouse click to copy it. It should read:That is what you are going to replace/post between the first two "quotation marks"
TO POST A PICTURE:
◈ Click on (some html is ok) in the right-hand corner above a comment box.
◈ Copy what it says (by the bulleted word image and replace what is between the quotation marks, which I put in bold below.
◈ That is where the picture’s URL is inserted. Cut or delete that and insert the new URL. It should look like this:
◈ Next, change the width and height measurements. You can get out you ruler and calculate aspect ratio, or just wing-it with a guess. I've discovered that most pictures nowadays only need one (width or height) and the other adjusts automatically. I put the numbers in bold that you will change.
◈ You may have to fiddle with these numbers to get the desired size. For the smaller picture, I used width="200" height="150". For the larger picture, I used width="400" height="300".
◈ Use the preview before you post to check the size. The description section is the text that is displayed if the image can't be displayed.
