Issues with Angry Robot ebook ISBNs

So I have an ebook of The Hammer and the Blade . The ISBN included in the ebook, both in the book contents as well as the file’s metadata, is 9780857662460. But when I searched for that on Goodreads, a different Angry Robot ebook showed up instead. The ebook edition of The Hammer and the Blade lists 9780857662378 as its ISBN, but that appears to be the ISBN of Obsidian and Blood’s ebook edition.

All of these are Angry Robot books released yesterday, which leads me to suspect their ISBNs were switched at some point since they were first added to whatever database Goodreads imported them from. All three editions exist/have been published, they just have each other’s ISBNs associated with them. (Actually, the Obsidian and Blood ebook doesn’t seem to exist at all in the Goodreads database, probably because the existence of its ISBN has prevented it from being auto-imported.)

I’d like to leave the editions as is and just change all the ISBNs so they are associated with the right books, but I thought I would ask for input before I went and did it.

None of those have Angry Robot listed as publisher. And all appear to have imported from Random House.

Sorry, Angry Robot is an imprint of Osprey Publishing. Not sure why they would be imported from Random House, although according to Wikipedia their titles are distributed in the US by Random House, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Ok, so that answers that.

Are all these books listed on the Angry Robots site, and if so, under which number or numbers? I think data from a publisher site is more likely to be accurate than that imported from a distributor.

Should be fixed now. I'll do some browsing of the Angry Robot site to see if there are any more ISBNs that got incorrectly imported. :)

That looks definitive to me. I'd go ahead and edit the records as you suggested, with links back to this thread in the change comment section.
