I got into writing because I felt gay men needed to see, by example, that we can be romantic loving devoted partners regardless of our background. My life passion was hearing love stories from different cultures from around the world.
So, I wrote "The Gay Icon Classics Of the World" and "The Gay Icon Classics of the World II".
These are fiction love stories created in part from either history or stories passed to me. There are about 18 stories in total from around the world. I can tell you first hand that writing can make a difference in the world. When I got a call from my friend in Russia for permission to use my story "The Blue Door" as a protest against the "anti-gay propaganda" laws being past in certain parts of Russia. I said "do it!".
My story was read and the reader was arrested and fined 2000 rubles ($75) for reading a harmless children's story.
I have committed to help start reading groups and donating copies to gay organizations in North America.
For Canada, I was asked to provide a French translation which has proven costly. So, I am asking you to help get the word out:
All I ask is that you watch my video and share it on your Facebook wall. We are trying to raise funds towards the costs of setting up Gay French reading groups in Canada. I know money is tight for young adults but you can help in other ways by "spreading the word" or being part of the indiegogo fundraising team - I sincerely THANK YOU!
