Just finished Swallowing Darkness, loved it. Now I'm all caught up on the Merry Gentry series Yippee! Started Slave to Sensation for the Shifter's category of the January PNR challenge. I've only read the first chapter but so far it seems really interesting.
Lori,Let me know what you think of Singh's Psy/Changeling series. I'm on the third book, and I'm loving it. I love her style of writing and her Psy and Changeling world has its own charm.

But I don't know how I will handle not knowing anything for the next 2 books. That could definitely get on my nerves!
That's why I enjoy series books that have characters that are seen again in other books, but each book has a different story. Like Sherrilyn Kenyon books. Each book centers around a different character and their story, but there is still an ovewrapping story throughout the whole series, and you see characters again. I don't know, I don't like books that string you along.
Right now I'm finishing up Too Good To Be True by Kristan Higgins. It's a great book; very funny. I highly recommend it.
Just started Plum Spooky by Evanovich. I've been grinning from ear to ear from the start. :)"If there's one thing I can't stand," Lula said, "it's a showoff monkey."
I always forget just how much I love these books until I've got one in my hands.
I just started The Devil You Know by Jenna Black, the second in her Morgan Kingsley series. So far I really like it, more than a lot of the books I've read recently. The world is really original, but simple. It makes it easy to get caught up in the story, and all the characters are likeable.
I agree Nichole! I love the Morgan Kingsley series. How can you not like a book where Morgan is being seduced by a demon that is possessing her? lol.
Jess wrote: "I agree Nichole! I love the Morgan Kingsley series. How can you not like a book where Morgan is being seduced by a demon that is possessing her? lol."Totally.:)
Of course, all the guys in this series are totally sexy. Would that we all had Morgan's tasty selection...
Just finished Caressed by Ice by Nalini Singh. How can she writes about an icy, emotionally unavailable man and makes him sexy and hot? But somehow she did. My favorite so far in the series. I love Judd and Brenna's story.Going back to Hill's The Love Potion now.
Yz, I'm almost done with Slave to Sensation, book 1 in the Psy- Changelings Series, and am looking forward to the rest of the series. Do characters from previous books make an appearance in each of the books or is there story totally done once the book ends?
I just finished Son of the Morning by Linda Howard. Now I have to look at all the book challenges and pick another.
Oh Nikki- let me know how you liked it, personally I loved it.
Jess wrote: "I agree Nichole! I love the Morgan Kingsley series. How can you not like a book where Morgan is being seduced by a demon that is possessing her? lol."That sounds like an interesting read indeed =P
Last night I read THE DARKEST KISS by Gena Showalter and THE WITCHES OF DIXIE by Laura Stamps.
Yz: So far I am liking them. Lucien is way hot and I like Anya's crush on him. Gena's way of using the demon mythos in her story is neat too =)
How is Gena Showalter, I haven't gotten around to reading her yet.. I just bought the darkest night for my kindle
I like the Darkest Kiss better than Darkest Night, and so far I've only read two books of hers. I would definitely want to read more of her books. yep, lucien is definitely hot, and i like heroines who are willing to go after their guy. so anya is my girl...lol..
Just finished No Rest For The Wicked, the second full length in Kresley Cole's series. Really, really good. So much better than the first one.I stumbled across Heart of the Dragon at Target the other night, and decided to grab it since it was only $5, and it's so rare to come across a first-book-in-a-series. Must be a re-release.
I've been planning on reading Showalter's series about demons, but didn't know much about this series. Any opinions?
(Just checked - it is a re-release, and the cover art is waaay better.)
I read Gena Showalter's Alien Huntress series first (well just Bk 1 so far) then Heart of the Dragon. Now I have started the LOTU series. I like The Alien Huntress the most and eagerly await getting my hands on Bk 2. The world/characters and plot was better suited for my "first time reading" this author, taste. Nichole: In reply to your question HOTD was just OK for me. The characters and world Gena creates was entertaining but didn't make me eager to want to finish the series. Seemed like a drawn out novella. She is def. a great author though and I wouldn't discourage you from starting Heart of the Dragon soon.
I like Sarah McCarty when I skim, LOL. There's a lot of dialogue in her books. Now reading Heir to Sevenwaters. Been waiting forever for it.
I love Kresley Cole's series, her new one is coming out tomorrow! woo hoo.I just got Gena Showalter's Darkest night on my kindle and I read it already. I really enjoyed the story and thought it was very unique from all the other types of pnr and uf out there.
yz - If the next book is better then I'm even more excited to continue the series. :)
Just finished Mona Lisa Awakening. Here's my review:I would have given this book 3.5 starts if that were an option because while I enjoyed the book, there were a few things that bothered me about it. It was an engaging and engrossing story, I have to admit. Enough so that I read it in one night. It's obvious the author is a fan of LKH, who is one of my favorite authors so I didn't really mind the similarities. It's obvious the author is a fan of LKH, who is one of my favorite authors so I didn't really mind the similarities. What bothered me was that right from the beginning, Lisa doesn't seem at all surprised to learn that she belongs to a race of beings who used to inhabit the moon. She meets Gryphon and immediately is so drawn to him that she doesn't really question anything. Her relationships with her men develop so quickly that there isn't a lot of depth to them. I hope in the subsequent books we'll see more character development and the relationships won't be so rushed. I will definitely read the other books and I'm looking forward to seeing if like Anita and Merry, Lisa takes more of her guard to bed.
Now I'm starting Wolf Tales. Really looking forward to this series.
Jess, I like Maddox and Ashlyn story, but Lucien and Anya's story is just fun. You met them both in the first book, so you know who they are...
I just need to get my hands on Reyes' book now..
I'm going to start on that book soon, but I just got Kiss of a Demon King so I have to read that one first.

Darkest Pleasure is the best IMO and that's saying something since I really wasn't interested in Reyes story.
I am reading "To Tame a Highland Warrior" by Karen Marie Moning. This is the first book I have read from this author. I heard of her here on goodreads.I am REALLY enjoying it!!
Cheryl: I just read a highlander themed book so I a waiting a few books in between. But I was also waiting from the first in series to the Highlander book from KMM. Now that I have it I can't wait to finish what I am reading to get to it.
Have just finished reading Elizabeth Aston's 'The Darcy Connection' which I've now discovered is book 5 in the Darcy series - a continuation of Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Definitely enjoyed it although it's a tad bit (a lot) tamer than what I usually read. Am finding I'm beginning to enjoy historical romance, too. Have requested the previous titles.
Have just also read The Prince's Waitress Wife (a Mills and Boon novel) by Sarah Morgan for 2 reasons: it's a romance AND it features rugby. I'm an NZ lass raised on rugby and was curious to read that Mills and Boon and the Rugby Football Union signed a contract for an 8 novel series featuring rugby players for heroes.

Is that the third book in the series? or the second
Here's the order for the Gena Showalter series:1. The Darkest Night
2. The Darkest Kiss
3. The Darkest Pleasure
Tosca, I love Austen's Pride and Prejudice. That series you are reading sounds interesting.
I grew up reading Mills & Boon, although I haven't read any since then.
Finished Sandra Hill's The Love Potion last night. I enjoyed it quite immensely. I will be definitely continuing with her Cajun series.Started Hotter than Hell by Jackie Kessler, her third and final book in her Hell on Earth series.
Have just finished the novel Magical Christmas Cat with stories by Nalini Singh (argh! It's a Psy-Changeling shorty and it's fantastic - she's a local here in Auckland and I see her sometimes in the library), Lora Leigh, Erin McCarthy.
I am reading The Darkest Kiss by G. Showalter. It is very engaging and I love how Gena has developed the interaction between Anya and Lucien. The build-up is killer. I like what I am learning about the Lords world too.I want to vow not to buy anymore books until I have read 75000 pages. See my book diet consists of:
5000= 1 new book bought.
I have over bought last year by 15 books. So I always "shop" but by the end I put back my books and say "I have to read down my pages first."
Reading multiple books helps, and being able to read quickly helps to speed through lots of books. And I enjoy them! These challenges help out tremendously.
Forgot to also put that a couple of weeks ago I finished my ebook copy of Talk Me Down by Victoria Dahl. Read a lot of write-up about how romance critics are saying the character is too assertive and talks dirty etc...which of course made me want to read it. D'OH. Followed the discussion for the book on Smart Bitches Trashy Books (those ladies make me laugh myself stupid). I enjoyed the snappy dialogue and the characters and I would definitely read more of her writing.
Kenjii,I love Lucien and Anya's relationship. I got the Darkest Pleasure from the library last night, but it has to wait for February.
I know what you mean about stacking too many books. LOL...isn't it crazy how we just can't get enough books.
Tosca,
Sounds an interesting book. I will check it out.
Kenjii/Yz...I have all three Showalter books on my shelf but have not read them yet. Soon...I will get to them soon.Just finished Wolf Tales, I'll write my review later today, it was okay. I have the whole series AND all of the Sexy Beast books because I had really high hopes for the series. I hope the it gets better.
I had planned on starting Outlander last night but at chorus rehearsal my friend gave me Midnight Thirsts Erotic Tales of the Vampire and said it was so hot, I'd be calling him at 2:00 in the morning to talk about it. He's gay and knows how much I'm into M/M erotica now. So, of course I had to read the first story (it's 4 separate stories). It was pretty good. I love vampire books but I also like a little romance with my porn LOL. Jet Mykle's Heaven Sent series has really spoiled me when it comes to gay romance.
I'm reading Undercover by Lauren Dane and Your Mouth Drives me Crazy by HelenKay Dimon. Also finishing up Impulse by JoAnn Ross on my ipod.
Yz: Some things I can set my mind to and it really does work. I DO want more books. I LOVE buying the newest books I can think of off my TBR pile. I don't want to wait (what looks like a year!!! Noooooo!!! LOL).Lori: I read the first 2 books from The Heaven Sent series and I think that was the first book(s) I read of the m/m romance and totally fell for Johnnie and the genre. Jet Mykles writes in a style I can enjoy plus her guys are totally hot =P.
I read The Hunted by LA BANKS and once I start reading I get so drawn into her world. I really want to finish the book to get to the next one. But it's hard to rush her =)
Agreed Kenjii! I read Jet Mykles Heaven Sent series and wow - it was fantastic. Just read the Christmas one last month. Have stopped in today at another branch and have seen a slew of books I must get - not enough time eek.
