Tangled Speculation (TangledSpec) | 11 comments Maybe you need to find the little "next' link at the bottom to see all your shelves?

FWIW, I don't think adding shelves helps since the recommendations seem to be based on how Goodreads or the publisher tagged the books and not why a reader puts them on a given shelf. For example, I have shelves called "anvilisous" and "2dumb2live". The first has books that I read that have obvious strong moral messages that smack you in the face. The later shelf has characters that fall into "horror movie stupid" traps and much of the time don't seem to have the sense of a chicken with heat stroke. I like many of the books on both of those shelves (a good story may overshadow what I think of as flaws). The point is, they don't match standard tags. The suggestions are based on the broad category most of the books might belong to, and not the reason for or name of the shelf. I can't even get PR suggestion on the PR shelf and UF without PR on the UF shelf, and I would think the publishers could tag that much (maybe not).

Anyway, what kind of books do you like? Maybe we can help.

Tala (tala2) Recommendations haven't been updating good for months now. There's a thread you can go to request a re-set
http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/6...
I'm going to have to request one, mine haven't updated since May 18.

Estelle (E) (vivelafantasy) My TBR list is longer than the list of books I read. I add some everyday!
I joined 4 groups and read discussions' threads about what people are currently reading. You can then read the reviews and add them to yoru to-read.
You can also go onto general discussions that are about books you read, people do compare books a lot.

The Fever series are my favorites: I'd recommend The Night Huntress or Mercy Thompson..
Hope that helps

Tangled Speculation (TangledSpec) | 11 comments For paranormal romance with a plot, I like the ones Estelle suggested (Kat and Bones from Jeanine Frosts' Night Huntress are a fun couple). I also like Ilonia Andrews and Kim Harrison for relationships the build slowly and don't overshadow the plot (though both have a lot of parnormal action). Sookie Stackhouse of the SVM series is fairly normal for a telepathic human (at lest for the first few books). Am I on the right track or have guessed wrong? What is it you like most about your favorite books?
