Faithful Shadow by Kevin J. Howard

A free ebook (Kindle or Nook) awaits the first 10 to e-mail me requesting a copy to read and review. Voted the Scariest Author of 2012 by Outskirts Press for Faithful Shadow.

Genre: Horror

Contact: Drop me an e-mail at authorkevinjhoward@hotmail.com

Book Description: Yellowstone is suffering from the largest forest fire in the park’s history. Ranger JOE RAND, once passionate about nature and now drowning in alcohol after the recent death of his son, notices something is very wrong after a string of disappearances. When a fireman is found dead in the Old Faithful Inn after falling into a hole earlier that day, his body mauled and deprived of all its fluids, Joe knows he has no choice but to set down his flask and investigate. Joe and Lieutenant DALE CAFFEY of the Billings Fire Department go into the woods to search the hole the fireman had fallen into. They discover a series of tunnels lined with bones, the air thick with smoke. Joe and Dale conclude that the creature that had killed the fireman had left its subterranean dwelling to flee the overwhelming smoke from the fire above. The creature takes shelter inside the Inn, concealing itself within the darkened crevices, emerging only to feast on passersby. After staging an evacuation of the park, they lock themselves inside the Inn to hunt the creature. After just a short while it becomes frighteningly clear that, in fact, the creature is hunting them.

Gary Markwick (garymarkwick) | 6 comments Hi everyone, I would love to get my self help book called "Now It Begins" reviewed, especially on Amazon and Goodreads, as this really helps me, being a new Author.
My book is practical and spiritual with ancient learning and short stories, the book is split into 10 distinct phases, which tackles some of life's biggest and most personal questions about identity and interconnectivity, love and fear, choice and destiny.
As the world is changing fast, a great shift of universal energy is taking place. Some of us are aware of this and are ready to move forward and leave behind an old world that has suffered from greed, selfishness, anger, blame and hatred. This means, raising our vibration of energy from within and connecting with one another on a higher and faster frequency that is happening now on this planet. For some this is inconceivable and for others, the transformation has already begun.
My website for my book is http://www.garymarkwick.com
My Goodreads link to read reviews etc is http://Goodreads.com/garymarkwick
Looking forward to hearing from you
Love and light

Mike (tymerum) | 7 comments If there's something I've learned since publishing my book four months ago, it's that you can never rely on most of your friends to be there for you. When I published my book, fifty-five people requested a copy. Since then, I've had two sales and one review. Not a single other person has said a word.

The book is "Jon Norsander" and it's found on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008GHW32M

It's a historic fantasy book, set in a world technologically-similar to Earth in the late 15th century, just as guns were beginning to be more widely used. I had particular fun with this book because I identify strongly with the character, and I'm happy to have this as the first published book from "The World of Terra" series.

I appreciate any reviews I can get, as long as they're honest, and I'm totally willing to send a copy through e-mail if you'd rather not purchase the e-book.

Hope to hear back from you guys soon. Thanks!

Harold Titus (haroldtitus) | 33 comments Anyone out there with a strong interest in American history that would be interested in reading and reviewing my novel "Crossing the River," about the Battles of Lexington and Concord? I'd be happy to provide an ebook version (PDF, ePub, or Kindle). Contact me at jahatitus@oregonfast.net

Book jacket description:

Standing on Lexington’s town common, humbled by the veneration of hundreds of militiamen, conceding that he had instructed them, encouraged them, in the end incited them, acknowledging that he, with others, had brought them to the river that could now be called revolution, Doctor Joseph Warren gives full credit to whom it is due. They, not he, knowing fully well the danger, had attacked the master. Standing at the river’s edge, they, of their own volition, had crossed over.

Joseph Warren is but one of Crossing the River’s many historical figures that bring to life General Thomas Gage’s failed attempt April 19, 1775, to seize and destroy military stores stockpiled at Concord by Massachusetts’s Provincial Congress. Characters of high and ordinary station, choosing to or forced to participate, must confront their worst fears. Revealing the internal conflicts, hubris, stupidity, viciousness, valor, resiliency, and empathy of many of the day’s participants, Crossing the River is both a study of man experiencing intense conflict and the varied outcomes of high-risk decision-taking.

The novel’s title is a metaphor for such decision-taking, be it Massachusetts militiamen seeking greater independence from Great Britain, General Gage’s attempted seizure of the provincial arsenal, two junior British officers’ risk-taking to earn quick promotion, an Acton schoolmaster’s compulsion to avenge the death of his dear friend and neighbor, a Lincoln youth’s attempted atonement for cowardice, a Lexington resident’s impulse to assist a redcoat deserter while he tries to resolve his neighbors’ and family’s low regard of him, or a British soldier/spy’s desire to rise above his station.

Glen Aaron (glenaaron) | 4 comments Hi, all, I'd love reviews for the first two books in The Prison Trilogy (nonfiction). As both a trial lawyer and a secret international business and banking consultant for many years, I learned a lot in representing clients, from the very wealthy to the very poor, financially poor but rich in spirit. I learned the nature of people through personal observation and had a rich pool to draw from: personalities who morphed into extreme psychological and sociological effect.

Through most of my career, I did not become personally involved with my clients. I did, however, observe their demeanor, good and bad, and their character defects as well as their social dysfunction. I kept it all to myself. After all, my charge was to represent, not judge. In the twilight of that career, however, I came to know a Wall Street Journal heiress, both personally and professionally, and represented her in marrying a younger gay man and in transferring huge
amounts of money and property for his benefit. My ten-year relationship with both the heiress and her new husband ended with brutal litigation from her children, also Wall Street Journal heirs, upon her death.

When it was all over, I reflected on the path that relationship had taken me and wrote The Prison
Trilogy. These three books tell of my observations and the stories arising out of the individual
segments on that path and the people they involved.

I can provide a coupon code for a free ebook in most formats to anyone interested in reviewing the book(s) on Amazon, Smashwords, and/or Goodreads. Thank you!

Hi, I'd love a review or two for my epic fantasy novel, Quest... I can provide PDF or epub format.

Synopsis:

Two powers, two quests, two fates...two mortals struggling against the very forces with which they might have aligned themselves, had they been given the opportunity to choose. Two mortals, light and dark, locked into one intense battle. A battle of which the end has already been written in blood. A blood not their own, just as the battle is not their own. And yet, they must fight.

The year is 2E739, the second millennium since Euroclydonus, the last epic battle to shake Wundyrr's foundations. Two thousand years of peace--at least between mortal and spiritual elements--and now, the hidden script of a writing called simply "the prophecy" threatens to immerse the world of Wundyrr once more in a hideous battle, the likes of which could very well rival the infamous Euroclydonus.

Tiernan Lebonn is the single last link between Wundyrr and vitality. Should he fail in his impossible quest to seal evil once more within its fiery prison, the shadow will rise up to devour not only him, but also the world he calls home.

His counterpart, Shiloh of Cheokk, has been steeped in darkness since the day she was born and is bent on winning her own glory through the very disaster Tiernan is trying to prevent.

For either one to claim victory, they must completely lose themselves within the essence of their quests and trust that the powers to which they have surrendered will bear them up in triumph.

But as with any battle, only one can claim the victory. Or perhaps neither can.

The Baker's Man by Jennifer Moorman
Book Blurb:
The Baker's Man invites you to a whimsical little Southern town where magic floats on every breeze and is baked into every cake. This novel weaves the tale of a young woman whose grandmother’s secret—and the ancestry of her grandfather—are about to change her life forever.

Anna O’Brien is sure of three things: there’s nothing she can’t bake, life is sweeter with chocolate, and her dreams are better left unspoken—especially to her mother. For a while, Anna has been living her life according to the expectations of others, never stepping out of line, never following her heart. Her one consolation is continuing her grandmother’s legacy by running Bea’s Bakery.

When Anna’s long-term boyfriend decides to move across the country without her, she is forced to face an uncertain future. After a long night in the bakery with her best friend, Lily, Anna’s humdrum existence rockets out of control when she follows a mysterious recipe left behind by her grandmother and finds Elijah—a handsome stranger—baking donuts in her kitchen the next morning.

Soon Anna is living in a world where she must deal with the repercussions of Elijah’s unexpected existence, while trying not to fall in love with “the dough boy.” Brimming with humor, love, and a sprinkling of magic, The Baker’s Man is an irresistible tale of friendship, forgiveness, and the enchanting possibilities of following one’s heart.

Ty Patterson | 8 comments Hi,

i wrote the best possible thriller book i could, The Warrior, details below, and am now looking for it to be reviewed.

does a tree fall if you haven't heard it fall, seen it fall? that's where i am. my ebook exists, it now needs promotion, word of mouth and reviewers..

the blurb goes like this:

"Zeb Carter is almost your average Private Military Contractor. Almost.

When working for a WDE (We Don't Exist) Agency, Zeb witnesses a gruesome crime in the Congo and tracks the perpetrators down to New York. Only to discover that not only are they protected by the FBI, but also are closely connected to a very high profile politician.

Ordered to stand down by the FBI, Zeb finds that his hunt brings those close to him in the sights of the killers.

A thriller that spans Congo and New York, The Warrior is dotted with gritty action, a central character that fuels imagination, and a supporting cast of great colorful characters.

The Warrior is about relentless determination and a burning need to avenge and to deliver retribution against all odds.

The Warrior is not just about action but also about character build up and the clash of differing values and how those clashes affect outcomes. Lastly, The Warrior is about the brotherhood of warriors.

The first in the Zeb Carter and Broker series."

Everett (evpowers) | 2 comments I'm looking for reviews for my newest novel DEATH OF A MATADOR. Here's the blurb:

In the dusty little Central California city of Stevinson, a matador enters a bullfight arena to face twelve hundred pounds of muscle and fury. He engages the bull and leads it through his cape with grace and flair until his legs and arms go numb: he’s been drugged. When his paralyzed arms drop the cape, the bull rams a horn into his liver and that’s it for the matador.

The killer didn’t mean for the man to die, but oh well. He wasn’t about to go to jail for it, though, so he tracks down the guy he paid to give the matador the spiked water, bashes him with a piece of rebar, and dumps him into a ditch. No witness, no jail. Imagine his surprise when his picture shows up in the paper later that week. Now he’s gotta kill someone else.

Instead of attending the bullfight, the mayor of Stevinson, Manny Dutra, is negotiating with pot growers who want to grow their quasi-legal product in his city. He squeezes three hundred grand out of them, a nice “commission,” but he’s gotta get the ultra conservative and religious city council to approve the deal. He’ll get it done because he knows who’s been doing what behind closed doors.

When one of the council figures out what he’s up to, Manny kills her to save the deal. As the week progresses, the cops are all over him and his constituents, hardworking religious Portuguese farmers and dairymen, are on his case because they can’t believe he wants to let someone grow drugs in their town. If he can just hold things together for six days he can collect his graft and split.

Too bad for Manny and the matador’s killer, Detective Grant Starr is asked to assist the Sheriff’s Department solve the murders.

Can Grant, his hot girlfriend and fellow detective Amber Whitehall, friend Detective Ralph Bensen, and Detective John McKay of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department bring the killers to justice?

In his follow-up to the thrilling THE MIGHTY T, Powers takes his readers for a wild ride inside the close-knit Central California Portuguese community, with their religious festivals and bloodless bullfights. A world rich in tradition. DEATH OF A MATADOR.

I can provide the book in .epub or .mobi and will be happy to email it. I can review books as a return favor, but must admit I'm not into things like fantasy or romance. My wife reads romance and likes to read new authors, though. And she buys other books from authors she enjoys reading.

I provide honest reviews and will politely mention what I like and dislike about books. If I think a book deserves a 2-star rating I won't post it. I request the same courtesy in return.

Thanks,

Ev Powers

I just published my debut novel Avenging Amethyst Avenging Amethyst (Immortal Eyes #1) by Kaitlyn Price

It is a YA paranormal fantasy.

"Avery and her mother have always been on the run. After her mother is murdered by something supernatural, she is left to fend for herself, alone and filled with questions. She receives a note by a stranger, giving her the opportunity to get some answers, and Avery warily accepts. She would rather face the truth than continue to be on the run.

What she discovers is nothing like she could’ve imagined. The stranger’s name is Felix, and he’s part of a race of creatures called Lovac. He tells Avery that she is a Lovac, too, and that they’re the distant descendants of the ancient vampire Nosferatu, along with two other races—the Nesmyr and Zhulik.

However, the Lovac are doomed to insanity, and nearly all of them lose their minds in their early twenties. The only way to be saved from the curse is for a Lovac to find their Dimidium, the one creature that can calm the darkness.

Nightmarish visions, kidnappings, and a lifestyle she never knew existed consume Avery’s life as she begins the search for her Dimidium and to get revenge for her mother’s death."

I am looking for people that might be willing to review my new novel, Awakening by J.E. Swift. It is Romantic Sci-Fi. I can e-gift for the kindle or barnes and noble, or I can email you a mobi, epub, or a word doc, whichever works best. Here is the blurb:

When recruiter Garrett Stevens expresses interest in the graduate student, she believes it romantically, since she has no marketable skills that his company could be possibility be interested in.

She is half right.

Caitlyn has something far more important than marketable skills- she has the proper DNA they want and that DNA, which had lain dormant for years, is about to activate.

When it does, the result is beyond what anyone could hope. Caitlyn finds herself being wooed by many in a secret society who would like to use her for their own devices, including Declan McPherson, a prodigy himself who understands exactly what she is going through.

When it becomes clear that not everyone is who they appear to be and those betrayals lead back to a rogue faction, Caitlyn must decide on who she can trust and who she can forgive.

Morgan Nyberg El Dorado Shuffle by Morgan Nyberg Mr. Millennium by Morgan Nyberg
The least reviewed type of book on Amazon is the serious novel. By “serious” I mean that the author is serious in his or her intention to produce original and powerful work (as opposed to simply commercial). The writing itself may be anything but serious in tone. Anyway, I’m sure you get the picture. I have 2 digital novels that are “seriously” in need of reviewers. If you like Pynchon or DeLillo you might enjoy my novels El Dorado Shuffle and Mr. Millennium. At the moment they are only available as Kindle ebooks. After mid-February they will be available in other formats as well. I’d be happy to gift you a Kindle copy of either or both; or I can give you another format in about 3 weeks. Message me.

John Elwood (johnelwood) | 13 comments I would LOVE to give an advance copy Raven, but you're going to punch me. See, I went ahead and got so excited and released the book just as soon as it was final. So it's out already. And it's free. I will go ahead and send you an epub and mobi, however, just as a kind of weak apology ^_^;. Also by way of apology, if you get your review in before the sequel Westwind is published, I'd be happy to send that to you as well. That one won't be free so it'll need a bit more love than The Rail City when it comes.
