Jim: I was an anti-small-dogger - until portability became a factor. Now I'm a convert. ...But my husband still won't walk him (the dog) in public - too small, white and hairy :)

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Jane, I'm 6' 235 with a nice big tattoo. I feel wrong walking my little Bichon.

Since I've done backpacking trips of more than two months at a time, I'll go with that choice.

Movies based on books (the common form) ?

message 3762: by Edward (new)

Edward Creter (httpwwwedcoolcom) | 277 comments Movies based on books 'cos movies often bring the books to life, even if movies are 2-2 1/2 hours long and reading takes days.
PS: Pirates of the Carribean doesn't even deserve a movie tie-in, much less a bunch of stupid. That's my story, I'm stickin' to it!

Watching a foreign film at home: Subtitles or dubbed?

message 3777: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Hmmmm - I haven't watched a foreign film at home. My initial reaction was subtitles, but on second thoughts, I'll go dubbed. I know the lack of synchronisation of lips and sound will annoy me, but having to read the screen for 2 hours would annoy me more :)
