message 1701: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Incandescent. I learned in psychology class that flourescent lighting causes aggression.

ATV or mountain bike?

message 1702: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Sneak into another movie and then go back and get your money back. It's a win-win situation

@Jim - I'll take incandescent.

3G or 4G?

message 1703: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments @Jim- we are on some freaky same wave-length b/c we always seem to be answering at the same time! At all different times of the day!

I'm not sure I know the difference btw. 3G and 4G

@Nissie- never rode either but I will say ATV

message 1704: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments 4G is faster and you forgot your pick one in all the overwhelming pick ones.

message 1705: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Ok- then 4G if it's faster.

I like your idea of sneaking in and then getting money back- but all we did was get money back, we tried, but nothing else suitable for her playing.

sending an e-mail to a friend or writing a letter?

message 1706: by Purple (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments sending an email, it's faster.

buying actual books or ebooks?

message 1707: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert I still buy actual books. LOTS of them.

hardback or paperback?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Paperbacks usually. They fit in the pocket of a pair of pants better.

@Fran - Nobody I'd rather share our wavelength with. We always work it out. ;-)

car accident or boating accident?

message 1709: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I am scared to death of drowning so I will say car accident

Blackjack or slots?

message 1710: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Slots, less chance of me losing money. I usually break even. But that's b/c I stop playing once I get all my money back.

Vegas or AC?

message 1711: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Vegas! I've been to AC many more times, but I love Vegas. I usually walk away when I break even too.

scrabble or boggle?

message 1712: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Scrabble I'm the champ at my house!

sitcoms or dramas?

message 1713: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments sitcoms

Top Chef or Next Food Network Star?

message 1714: by Denise (new)

Denise | 318 comments I have no idea, haven't seen either one, is one of them with the Hell's Kitchen guy, Gordon Ramsey? I quit watching Hell's Kitchen because I finally got tired of his tirades. I personally would have told him to F.O.

I'm going to test your age now: Trixie Belden or Nancy Drew?

message 1715: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert I guess Nancy Drew because I watched the tv series growing up. I don't know anything about Trixie Belden.

The Brady Bunch or The Partridge Family?

message 1716: by Denise (new)

Denise | 318 comments regarding Trixie Belden, drop in the cozy mystery group we are having buddy reads for the Trixie Belden series (written in the 1940's and 1950's maybe some later)

I liked both of those shows, I used to watch them with my girls.

35mm or digital camara

message 1717: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Digital is what I have right now. I would like to upgrade to some better equipment someday.

automatic or manual transmission?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments open road? manual transmission all the way. sitting in stop and go traffic for half an hour? Automatic.

@nissie - I can help you find the right camera for you. I'm a Certified Photographic Consultant you know (yes there really is such a designation)

Nine Inch Nails or (*gulp*) Glee cast doing Madonna?

message 1719: by Fran, Moderator (last edited Aug 19, 2010 05:56AM) (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Glee cast doing Madonna! (sorry Jim!) Saw Madonna live in my youth- awesome.

@Nissie- Brady Bunch but also loved Partridge Family
@Denise- Top Chef on Bravo- very good- Next Food Network Star on Food Network and a little cheesy but entertaining- none are the Gordon Ramsey show

John Cougar Mellencamp or John Mellencamp?

message 1720: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Um who? I don't know the cougar, but I have heard of JM, so JM?

@Jim - ya know my car is automatic but I have the option of driving it manually. It has paddles on the wheels to shift drives. I tried it and you're right, it's better off on the open road. Can't wait to try it! Woohoo!

Lady Gaga live or Glee cast doing Lady Gaga live.

message 1721: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments @Sej- John Cougar Mellencamp is the name JM used when he was fist starting out in the biz- he hated it and dropped the Cougar in the late 80's-early 90's. I am showing my age! I have seen him many times in concert over the years- love him.

Lady Gaga live- love her too!

Camp Rock or High School Musical?

message 1722: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments I dunno what Camp Rock is but HSM sucked. So I'll go with CR. HSM was a torture to watch and listen. I only saw the first and I saved my ears.

Apple or LG

message 1723: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments My kids loved HSM - all 3 movies. Camp Rock is also a Disney produced movie- Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato- my daughter loves it.

Apple

lemonade or iced tea?

message 1724: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Usually iced tea. I like both though.

@Jim- I'll take all the help you can give me on that.

which would upset you more- your SO forgetting your birthday or forgetting your anniversary?

message 1725: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Forgetting my birthday. B/c that is my own special day! But anniversary too, just slightly more upset about bday.

Starbucks or Seattle's Best?

message 1726: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Starbucks

Iced caramel latte or mocha frappe?

message 1727: by Sej (last edited Aug 19, 2010 10:53AM) (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Mocha.

By the way what movie did you see that your daughter didn't like?

Hot or cold?

message 1728: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I took her to see Vampires Suck b/c she thought it looked funny and truthfully I really wanted to see it. She is 8- totally inappropriate- gross-out silly violence but she was totally freaked.

Cold

Burger with cheese or without?

message 1729: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Always with cheese!

Go out in the rain because now you want a cheeseburger or stay in and eat what you have at home?

message 1730: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Go out in the rain and get that cheeseburger!

Finish your kid's dessert or restrain yourself?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Leftovers are for quitters. Eat the dessert already!

Your son's friend who looks like Carrot Top says, "Bite me." do you chastise him for his unoriginal and ultimately toothless jibe while offering alternatives or do you play the 'you hurt my feelings' card?

message 1732: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Um you are the only one who's son's friend would say that to. But I'd make a face and chastise him. "Really is that what you can come up with? We need to work on your comebacks."

Get up and get some water or deal with it b/c your too comfy.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Go get your water woman! We don't want you dehydrating. Brain the battery? Run out of gas? Fall over from dehydration? Get the water.

As for the Bite me comment. Well, I gave him three days since he told me he was going to some up with some biting nickname for me. He had nothing for me. I told him that being the master of snappy comebacks as he was, I'd maybe get my calender out to schedule a date when he'd have one for today. That's when he said 'Bite me.' Since we were just working on this, I had several handy for him. He said that he had good comebacks but they were too full of profanity to use with me. I told him that using profanity for shock value could be funny, but that it was the crutch of the weak and the slow. His mouth moved but nothing came out. I looked at Isaac and said, "I thought you said he was good at this."

Is the above too harsh for an 18 YO that supposedly has a quick wit or knowing that he's known for verbally abusing others think that a little verbal spanking was in order?

message 1734: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Ooh verbal spanking! He deserves it! And he's 18, it's time he grows up and learns how it feels like to be on the other end.

And I got my water, but I'm not sure how I brained the battery. That sounds painful. My brain is fine thank you. Although my niece sorely bruised it yesterday. But she's only 18 months so I forgave her.

Target or Walmart?

message 1735: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert @Fran- I did go out in the rain and get the cheeseburger!

@Sej- Target always

Take a nap or read?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Read. There will be plenty of time for sleeping later.

Pina Coladas or getting caught in the rain?

message 1737: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert They're both fun, but I like making love at midnight better.

Old classic cars or new cars?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments New cars. Other than nostalgia, newer is better.

You just found out your child has been experimenting with drugs. Which are you more upset about Adderall an addictive stimulant common with HS and college aged kids for increasing concentration and allowing uninterrupted study sessions or marijuana a non-addictive recreational drug that has the side effects of causing someone to spend 10 years on their parents couch and putting on 10 pounds of fat.

message 1739: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments More upset about A, b/c it's addictive. Wow did that happen to you?

A man tells you to calm down when you're upset: Do you calm down and seethe quietly or go off on him?

message 1740: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert I worked as a Pharm.Asst. for 15 years and I saw every kind of addict there is. Adderall addicts are at least a little productive. My ex was a pothead and he was completely worthless. So I would be more upset at the marijuana I think.

Nutter Butters or Oreos?

message 1741: by Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (last edited Aug 19, 2010 01:46PM) (new)

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments @Sej - no. I'm reasonably sure my boys are drug free. I just like making up scenarios to pick from.

Someone tells me to calm down I first stop and think why I'm upset. If I have cause, I let them have it with both barrels and I can be vicious.

If I have milk, Oreos. otherwise NB's are the bomb!

being mooned by a girl or a guy?

message 1742: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments @Nissie- glad you got the cheeseburger!
@Sej- go off on him

oreos

choc chip cookies or oatmeal cookies?

message 1743: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Oatmeal if they don't have raisins in them. Otherwise chocolate chip.

Raccoons or rabbits?

message 1744: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Um to run over? I guess raccoons, rabbits are just to cute to run over.

NKOTB ft. Lady Gaga & Natasha Bedingfield concert or NKOTB/Backstreet Boys/BoysIIMen concert?

message 1745: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert @Sej-lol I meant as a pet. I've had both. They're lots of fun! As far as the Adderall thing, I saw way more adults addicted to it than I did kids. As sad as it sounds,a lot of parents didn't even give it to their children, they took it themselves. That stuff IS wicked!

Anything without Lady Gaga. She frightens me!

Oz Fest or Lollapalooza?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Lollapalooza too much live heavy metal starts to sound the same after a while.

Neil Diamond or having your eardrums removed.

message 1747: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert LMAO! Not a Neil Diamond fan,Jim? I guess I would have to suffer through it. There are other things I like to hear.

Same question with Pink Floyd

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Blashphemer! I've been to three Floyd shows. I count them among my favorite all time bands. I'd gladly sit through a third, fourth, or hundredth show before doing the double Van Gogh.

Lose the ability to physically feel pain or to feel emotions.

message 1749: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments @Jim- glad to be on our wavelength again together!
mooned by a girl

@Nissie- Pink Floyd

gerbil or hamster? (not to run over!)

message 1750: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments pain- my kids wouldn't recogize me if I wasn't tearing up about something (or yelling at them)

Coincidence or Destiny?
