Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Cremated after enjoying my T-bone. A T-bone after all has a chunk of filet with it whereas the filet by itself doesn't have any strip with it.

Tennis or bowling?

message 1352: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Nissie-There isn't a sarcasm font but we really need one. Most of the time it's just implied, especially in Jim's case. Of course, I would never...

Ok, since, by that time, I'll be basking in the glory of the Promised Land (I hope), I really don't care. But If forced to choose I'll go with cremated. I'll take up less space.

Pancakes or french toast?

message 1353: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments I knew you would mention the filet on the T-bone. I personally just like gnawing on the bone ;)

Bowling since it's accompanied with drinking.

Skiing or ice skating?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Maybe if get enough signatures together with the people's petition, the rulers of the virtual world will install a sarcasm font. Of course I'm not sure that it's needed. It's easy to tell if I'm being serious or not. If I'm typing or talking, I'm probably not being serious and you can take whatever I said as a joke. If I start insulting your mother, I probably mean it. But up to that point take anything I say/write with a grain of salt. (Note: Phrases such as 'Did your mother have any kids that lived?' or 'I guess yo' momma wished there was a lemon law for babies.' are not actually insults to the mother and thus do not count.)

Back to the game...

French toast can be used to melt good cheese with maple ham inside. I'll pick this one.

modern dance or classical ballet?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Penney wrote: "I personally just like gnawing on the bone ;)"

Penney, if you are going to play the straight man, you can't submit your own punchline.

Skiing. I can't ice skate. (Don't tell anyone)

Being the funny man or the straight man?

message 1356: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Y'all are killing me! And Jim,I really don't like a lot of seriousness anyway,so joke away!! More people should be like that. I'm usually the funny one in my family. I'm not entirely sure it's intentional though
Penney you're so baaad!! lol

Tragedy or comedy?

message 1357: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) definitly comedy

Who was most humerous-Mom or Dad ?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Humerous as in making jokes? Mom. Who was genuinely funnier? Dad. It's all in the timing.

If you could choose your birth order would you want to be the eldest or the youngest?

message 1359: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Well, I am the oldest. I loved it growing up but now I'm at the age I wish I was the youngest. So I'll go with that.

message 1363: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert 2 hour stroll definitely!

workout on stairclimber or take a hike?

message 1364: by Purple (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments Take a hike of course, It wouldn't seem so tedious because of the scenery.

hiring a tutor to help kids study or do it yourself?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments hire a tutor. They are more constant.

A co-worker tells you something about one of your friends that you find very disturbing. Do you ignore it and hope the gossip isn't true or do you confront your friend and possibly end the friendship?

message 1366: by Purple (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments I'll ignore it. I will always be a friend to them no matter who they are.

your nanny forgot to tell/call you that your son fell off the stairs while playing because she fears you. You found out only when you drop by at home 4 hours later when the cut near the eye is unmistakable and bleeding. You fire her or retain her after a giving a stern, angry lecture?

message 1367: by KimKirt (last edited Aug 09, 2010 04:47AM) (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments If she fears me, it means she probably won't call if something like that happened again, so I'd have to let her go for the safety of the kid.

Your son is leaving college without finishing to be either a circus performer or to stand on a street corner in Nashville playing his guitar hoping to be 'discovered'. Which would you choose for him?

message 1368: by Purple (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments Wow, that's a tough one. I admire how you guys think.

A circus performer. When he learns the tricks of the trade, he can be a professional con artist. :)

Pooped by a lizard or by a cat?

message 1369: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert LOL! I'd have to say lizard!

Dressed to the nines or jeans and t-shirt?

message 1370: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Wearing Jeans and t-shirt. Love working where I can wear whatever I want. Within reason of course.

A neighbor who's an ex-con or a politician?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments the only difference is the ex-con was already caught. I'd probably go with the con. They are less likely to ask you for help in running for office or putting a sign in your yard.

salmon or tuna?

message 1372: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments That's a hard one - salmon cooked, tuna raw.

McDonalds or Burger King?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments BK all the way. Flame broiled is the way to go.

Panera or Cracker Barrel?

message 1374: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Ooh a tough one! And they are totally different, but I only go to CB for breakfast foods, so comparison wise I would choose CB b/c of more choices for less.

Potbelly or Cosi?

message 1375: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert pencil skirts

Pay more for convenience or fight he crowds and save money?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Go ahead and call me sexist, but I generally prefer to look at a woman in a pencil skirt. Of course most women who wear pencil skirts on a regular basis have a form that begs to be looked at.

People who go ahead and make a sexist comment even though they fully expect to be pilloried for it or people who don't ever make the comment but think it anyway (there really are only two types of people on something like this).

message 1377: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments @Nissie - depends on my mood, but I'd go fight the crowds and save money IF I can't find it cheaper online.

@Jim - 2 types - men and stupid men.
I say men who make the sexist comment so I can pillory him for it. Where the hell do you come up with these words? Pilloried? Seriously.

Talking to someone who takes things too seriously or talking to someone who can make jokes our of them?

message 1378: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Someone who can make jokes. Too much seriousness makes me want to cry!

Long summer days so you can do more outside or short winter days so you can just snuggle up inside?

message 1379: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Long summer days. In winter it feels like the day is over!

Both.

Laurie (brrrmn) Purple wrote: "Fast and Furious, like the bodies, the cars and the music.

Suzanne Elizabeth Phillips or Rachel Gibson?"

That's a tough one. I love both authors and they both always make me laugh!
I guess I'd pick Rachel Gibson if I had to-- she's made me laugh so hard reading her bks that I was crying! Awesome!

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments @Sej - Pillory (vt) expose to ridicule or public scorn. Where do I get these words? I read a lot. I hear it helps to build vocabulary.

@Laurie - When you make the choice for the last selection, you post your choices for the next person to pick. Happy to have you join us.

e-reader or a real book?

I'll go with real book. I like the paper feel.

Coffee with cocoa sometimes or always plain?"

Rarely coffee for me. Only when it is 20 below outside in the cold cold winter (remember I live in Fargo, ND). When I have it it is flavored coffee to start with and tons of skim milk and Splenda in it! Yummmm..

message 1386: by Sej (last edited Aug 09, 2010 08:53PM) (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Science Fiction! Put that in romance world and I'm in. But Western is awesome too, especially historical western romance books. Of course movie wise I'd pick SciFi.

By the way, I've seen pillory before but in historical romance novels. Are you a closet HR fan? Admit it.

Both! don't make me choose!
Oh-did you mean bks or movies, Nissie?

Nissie Lambert Laurie wrote: "Nissie wrote: "lol! I love them both, too! But since I watch a lot of the "beat 'em all to hell"s with my 2 sons, I'm gonna go with the "need a doctorate" if I'm watching alone.

I meant movies, but either way is fine. LOTR wins them both!

message 1394: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments I'm not sure Laurie is reading the latest posts. We may see like 100 posts before she realizes that's not the game.

@NIssie - ooh touphie. I like the mall but I also love going online to get good prices. But I mostly shop for convenience so I go for the mall.

Shakira or Rihanna?

message 1395: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Shakira. She's little like me lol!

Bluegrass or heavy metal?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Tough call. Bluegrass brings forth memories of sitting around a bonfire with a bunch of people playing music when the unlabeled bottles of hooch gettin' passed around. Really good times.

Heavy metal makes me think of black leather and getting baked outside of a White Snake concert.

Round goes to Bluegrass.

New Wave or Punk?

message 1397: by Penney (last edited Aug 10, 2010 06:42AM) (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Is there a difference? This is an honest question, I don't understand the difference. Old school bands - Adam and the Ants, the Clash, Billy Idol, The Cure - in what category would you put them? And newer bands - Blink 182, Geenday - are they just lumped into Alternative Rock?

I'm so confused but I'll pick New Wave. I don't think it's as intense...I think.

Music from the '70's or '80's?

message 1398: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments 80's! But I don't know what year Let the Music Play came out, but I freaking love that song! I just heard it this morning on the radio. But come on "I'm a material girl..."

Boy bands or girl bands (bands is used loosely, they are in no way remotely a traditional "band" and I consider it silly to call em as such. So let's just say boy group or girl group? Again that's silly cause none of them are remotely boys or girls, at least none except Jonas Bros. So let's go with Man Group or Woman Group?)

message 1399: by Eleanor (new)

Eleanor | 20 comments Definitely '70s! Gorgeous rock and folk came out of that decade.

Joan Baez or Joni Mitchell?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments @Penney - New Wave was more about experimentation and was mainstream. The amount of electronic synth sounds was also a big giveaway. Flock of Seagulls, The Vapors, Talking Heads = New Wave. The Sex Pistols, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys = Punk.

I'll generally take male vocalists over female vocalists. However that is far from a hard and fast rule.

I'll go with Joni Mitchell. I bought her Court and Spark album on vinyl back in the day.

8-track or cassette?
