message 1152: by Penney (last edited Jul 21, 2010 05:28AM) (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments No comment.. Now pick a question and answer it ;)

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments I'll give it a go, I'd rather be caught by my grandparents so that the gossip can talk about it half the morning while eating tootsie pops.

people who reinforce the stereotype or people who are complete opposites of the stereotype?

message 1154: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) Males

Working with the public or working with inanimate objects

message 1155: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Males? I'm confused. LOL!

Give me inanimate objects any day. They aren't rude to you, don't cuss you out, get vicious, short tempered or ruin your perfectly good day.

Learning something bad about a good friend or never finding out about it.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments I'd rather learn something bad. If they are a good friend, we'll get past whatever it is.

Guy friends or girl friends?

message 1157: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) Kim,
I thought the question was male or female anchors, who knows where my brain is this AM

message 1158: by KimKirt (last edited Jul 21, 2010 08:43AM) (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments LOL! That's okay, I had to drink several cups of coffee and still couldn't catch on this morning!

I like girl friends. Because they aren't always trying to FIX it when I vent to them, they just let me vent and commiserate. Plus we can go to public restrooms together and vent even more (usually about guys).

Getting punished by mom or getting punished by dad?

message 1159: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) Dad,that meant a good talking to,good because he soon verred off onto something that interested us both,Mom`s have memorys like steel traps!

Green tea or black tea

message 1160: by Sej (new)

Sej (sejrose) | 1647 comments Can I choose both?? Green tea by itself but black tea more with milk and indian spices.

Diet Dr Pepper or Diet Cherry Coke

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Both are good, but Diet Dr. Pepper really does taste more like regular Dr.Pepper.

Children who get good grades, never complain, but don't respect your authority or children who do everything you say, are super polite and nice to others, but carry a C average.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Can't moon and still operate a watercraft safely. I'm going to have to go with jet ski au natural.

Your sister and her husband are visiting you and staying in your guest room. The first night they are really loud if you know what I mean. Do you say something to them or do you figure they are only there for three more days and you can wear ear-plugs?

message 1163: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments I'd wear ear plugs, then burn the mattress. LOL! But then I'd sure as heck tease my sister about it later (except I don't have a sister).

You're out at a restaurant, which would you rather get: A coffee cup that has lipstick ring on it (not yours) or a fork with a piece of dried on food.

message 1164: by Purple (last edited Jul 22, 2010 04:39AM) (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments A fork is easily replaceable than a cup with coffee already in it. So I pick the fork with something something.

In a severe car accident, would you rather lose both your legs or your arms?

message 1165: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Legs. I'd still be able to sit at the computer and type then.

Migraine or toothache?

message 1166: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments I'm lucky that our primary care Dr is maybe 5 min from my house but my Obgyn is about 30-40 mins away depending on traffic. Since I'd gladly take a flight, if necessary just to see her, I'll go with traveling to a doctor I like.

Male or Female Obgyn

message 1167: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Well, mine is a male. I'm not sure I've ever had a female OB, but I would think a female OB would be more sympathetic to stuff maybe. I dunno. I'm on the fence. Oh wait, Jim won't let us do that. Okay, fe-maybe-male.

Funny cards that make you laugh out loud or sentimental ones that bring a tear to your eye.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Card from the significant other. Absolutely.

I don't send funny cards to people. That is just not my style. I send cards that are heartfelt and sincere. Depending on whom I am sending them to, they may even be applicable. For instance, I give my mother in law a card on mother's day, birthday, and Christmas every year. 'Congratulations, It's a Girl' is a good card for Christmas. 'So sorry for your loss' might go for Mother's Day. and so on and so forth. For the first year she had no idea what to make of it and I never saw any of the cards I sent displayed. She never mentioned it either. Now after 20 years she puts whatever card I give right up with the others. She laughs and thanks me for each Valentines Day card she gets on her birthday (November), St Patrick's Day card at Christmas, or For your first birthday card at Mother's Day. (*yes, I actually write a nice note inside)

Neighbors whose grass is always too high and things are out in the yard but are super friendly and willing to help you with anything or who keep a beautiful yard/garden with all maintenance done but don't say two words to you if you pass on the street.

message 1169: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments First, neighbors whose grass is high and are super nice. I lived in an association run condo in FL where you couldn't BREATHE and the people were snots. Moved here, and yeah the guy up the road has a couch with duct tape on his porch, but he waves to me every time I pass.

You are super super dog tired, bone weary, falling asleep, nothing in the world sounds better then the comfort of your own bed at that very moment PLUS you are starving so much so that your backbone is gnawing at your belly button. Which would you pick to do, sleep or eat?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments There'll be time to sleep when I'm dead. Gotta' feed the hunger.

Make a dangerous left into traffic and get there faster or go the other way, make a right at the light, be safe, and get there 10 minutes later?

message 1171: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Make the right. I have done that many times here, we have a main thoroughfare through here, and when all the leaflookers start coming through in the fall it's horrible to try to turn left, so if the coast isn't clear I'll do the right turn thing, after all, I usually have my most precious commodity in the back seat.

Wearing a wrist watch or using your cell phone when you need to know the time?

message 1172: by Penney (last edited Jul 23, 2010 05:44AM) (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments I still wear a watch out of habit and the need to "accessorize", but it's now more instinctual to look at my phone for the time (and the date too for that matter).

Finishing a book you hate or tossing it aside and saying screw it?
(I feel like this might have already been asked)

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Penney, the same question can be asked many times as it is a new person answering almost every time.

I finish a book. Otherwise I get a funny feeling and the bad people come for me. I might toss it after I'm done, but I'll finish just about everything.

Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen?

message 1174: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments I'm actually more of an Aleve girl (cuz I like to rot my liver), but I'll go with Ibuprofen.

Winter or Summer?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments My two least favorite seasons. Let's see, Winter is more comfortable sleeping weather, better outdoor activity weather, no grass mowing, no kids during the day when I'm off, better money from work, no allergies, and a million other benefits. Summer has women in light sundresses and bikinis. I'm going to have to go with summer on this one.

a dog that sleeps all the time or one that always wants to play?

message 1176: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments I'll take the big dog bark. I have an extreme dislike for the yappy little things, though y'know, they are more likely to take a chunk out of you. Our 3 dogs have deep, big barks. Lab mix, border collie mix and basset hound . . . yeah, we have quite the mixture huh? Just rescued the basset and she is the sweetest most adorable dog ever, how anyone could not love her is beyond me. The border collie, now he is a BRAT and a ball of energy, thank goodness the new basset counteracts him. The lab mix (with shepherd) is a sweetheart and our oldie of the group, 10 years now. Best dog ever.

I love my critters, can you tell?

Convertible or Sun Roof?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Convertible. Drive in the sun.

Job hunting or dating?

message 1178: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Dating, at least I get a free meal out of it and I always met in public places. Well, except that one time when I had the guy come to my apt. and he brought the whole first year of Simpsons episodes on video tapes for us to watch. I kid you not! Yeah, he didn't get a second date.

Working with a male chauvinist pig who demoralizes women or working with a woman who is brainless and uses her sex appeal to get what she wants.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Wait. YOU get a free meal? And everybody knows Simpson's marathon is reserved for an excuse when you want to spend long periods of time alone on a couch and you know that you won't actually be watching Simpson's all that time.

I'd say I'd go working with a brainless woman who uses her sex appeal as I am immune to her charms. (*Holy crap did you see the skirt Penney is wearing today? Quick drop something else so she'll bend over and pick it up!*) On second thought, I'd better go with the sexist pig. I might even pick up some new jokes.

Kids who eat all your leftovers and everything else in your fridge or kids who you have to make something for them but you have food when you want it.

message 1180: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments LOL @ Jim! You mean I wasn't actually supposed to WATCH the Simpson's episodes? Gee, now you tell me. Oh well, live and learn.

Re: Sexist Pig - I worked for a guy when he hired me he blatantly said "I'm going to hire for brains this time and not looks!" Uh, gee thanks I think? Then he put me in charge of hiring the receptionist and he said "I don't care if she can type or not, as long as she looks good, and if you think they're good looking enough when they come in, parade them by my desk so I can have a look." So I did. So the LAST girl that comes in, I kid you not, drop dead blonde bombshell, and she wasn't even back out the door and he's yelling at me to call her and hire her. I wanted to say "Down boy!" so I hire her and she's nice and sweet and has a brain and he was all over her to go out with him all the time (yeah, he was married too, did I mention that?). So one night the owners of the company were in town and he wanted to take them out to an upscale bar on the beach and he asked "N" (I won't use her real name) to go and she says "I'm not going unless Kim goes." Great, so we both go and my boss got DRUNK and he went out in the parking lot and N and I left about 10 minutes later and the cops are out there and they say to us "Do you know this guy? Because we're about to arrest him if you don't get him out of here because he's peeing in the parking lot." So we grab our boss and usher him to his car but of course he can't drive so I drive his Jaguar and N is in the front seat next to me and he's in the back slurring and going "I bet you never drove a car like this before." N and I are just rolling our eyes. I swear, you can't even make this stuff up. So we drive him back to the office and dump him there and we get our cars and leave. Well, he calls me at home the next day (Sunday) and he says "Um, are you still working for me? Because I can't remember what the hell happened last night." He made me call N and ask her if she was still working and she told me I should call him back and say "Hell yeah, after the big raises you gave us last night, why not?" LOL. So she quit about a month after that, then I quit about a month after her.

So there, a piece of my life's history. He was SUCH a sexist pig. It made for some funny stories though!

Okay, I'll take the kids who eat you out of house and home because if I'm in the middle of a good book at night that last thing I want to do is get up and make a snack for my son.

People who write two page answers to your question or people who answer in one sentence.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments A little reading never scared me. Bring on the two pagers! Heck, make 'em four!

parents who drop by without notice or who don't visit?

message 1182: by Penney (last edited Jul 23, 2010 05:18PM) (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments I love my Dad he's awesome! He's becoming a dirty old man, but I still love him. I'd have no problem if stopped in whenever he wanted cuz he makes me laugh. Of course, that's easy for me to say cuz he lives in Baton Rouge now and I only see him a few times a year. My Mom used to stop by all the time and I loved it! She was my constant source of information and advice; really, really good advice. So, yeah, I'll go with the first.

Kim- You really shouldn't be looking for work at places like the Bunny Ranch. It obviously doesn't suit you... ;-)

Being forced to go out for drinks with people you really don't like or being bored at home?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Out for drinks. There I have a chance of running into some people I do like or meeting new ones.

flip flops or open toed sandals with a heel strap and 2" heel.

message 1184: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments I'll take the open toe sandal, only because I don't really care for flip flops unless I'm walking the dog and just need something quick to slip on.

LOL @ Penney. Yeah, maybe that's why I moved out of Florida ten years ago, needed that career change.

Matching cute silky pajama tops and bottoms or totally comfy big cotton t-shirt and sweats.

message 1185: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments I am a total PJ freak! I own just about a trillion pairs; some sexy, some comfy, but all matching. The strange thing is that I don't actually sleep in them because I find anything on my body during sleep is just too constricting. Even in the dead of winter. I call them my "Lounge Wear" because thats what they're for, lounging. To me the absolute ultimate indulgence would be Cashmere Lounge Wear. Unfortunately I haven't found a justifiable reason to spend that kind of moola on PJs. One day it will be all about me :)

Dream Vacation: Castle in the Scottish Highlands or Overwater hut on a South Pacific Island?

message 1186: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Give me the castle in the Scottish Highlands. Then I can truly find out for sure if the men go commando under their kilts.

Waking up early on your day off to get things done or sleeping in and enjoying a leisurely morning.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Penney wrote: "...I find anything on my body during sleep is just too constricting..."

I couldn't agree more.

KimK, I choose waking up early and enjoying a leisurely morning. What do you mean that's not a choice? Well it should be. In that case I'll sleep in and have a lazy morning.

Watching a baseball game on TV or in the stands?

message 1188: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Oh, without a doubt, in the stands! My husband took me to my first game (Yankees) and there's nothing like that first time you walk through the dark tunnel into the light and see the field. The bright green of the grass, the sounds of the vendors and the announcer, the yummy smell that can only be described as "Ballpark"...its like an orgy for your senses. And that's before you sit and indulge in a Dog and a Brew, mmmmmm! To top it all off, you whip out the binoculars so you can ogle all the scrumptious buns (and I'm not referring to food!). We try to go at least once every season.

Kids that are self-sufficient and like to be left alone or kids that need mommy and/or daddy for every decision and activity?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Self sufficient all the way!

Ellen Page or Kristen Stewart

message 1190: by Purple (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments Ellen Page. She's good. I like the way Kristen Stewart dresses though.

message 1191: by Purple (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments Watch new movie or read new book.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Depends on my mood. Right now I'll go with watch new movie. That way if it is super boring I'll read my book while the movie is playing.

Eggs - scrambled or over easy?

message 1193: by Purple (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments Scrambled! My brother makes a mean one. :)

Oatmeals - flavored or not?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Flavored all the way. Maple and brown sugar Or apple and cinnamon.

Iced tea - sweetened or not

message 1195: by Purple (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments Sweetened. Unsweetened if they're hot.

in feeding babies
breastmilk or formula milk?

message 1196: by KimKirt (last edited Jul 25, 2010 04:20AM) (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Breast milk if you can. But hey, whatever works I say as long as the little tyke is much loved.

Getting up and showering right away even though you don't have anyplace to go or taking your time and spending half the day in your pajamas.

message 1197: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Usually the latter, but wishes to have more discipline in starting a day right.

Netflix or Redbox?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Netflix. I love the auto-mail feature and the instant watch ability. Of course I don't have it currently, but it is my preference.

Collection of short stories: same author or different authors?

message 1199: by Purple (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments Different authors. Good to have lots of choices for your next read.

Travel: by plane or by ship/boat?

message 1200: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Boat, I hate flying and if I'm on a boat it means I'm going someplace tropical (hopefully).
