message 1103: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Far away vacation, preferably someplace requiring a plane ride. If I stay home I still have to do dishes and walk the dog.

message 1107: by Kathy Anne (last edited Jul 19, 2010 11:59PM) (new)

waiting on the beach for sunset with Champagne or
picnic in the woods on a grassy hill with a view and the Champagne

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments The beach scenario definitely. That way when teh sun goes down, you are alone together on the beach, in the dark. *wiggles eyebrows suggestively*

message 1109: by Purple (new)

Purple (purpletan) | 1221 comments Too little. It means I could read more.

Indie movies or regular films?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Usually indie films. Hollywood movies are usually a little over the top with more predictable plots.

70's high school shows: Welcome Back Kotter or The White Shadow?

message 1111: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Hey, not fair, that's a drama vs. a comedy... Hard to choose but I'll go with Welcome Back Kotter since I've felt the need to quote in these threads. (but haven't)

Sticking with the theme: Chico & the Man or Sanford & Son?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Sanford & Son all the way. Redd Foxx shouting out "Elizabeth, I'm coming to join ya'! It's the big one!" was a part of conversation in our house.

Barney Miller or Cagney & Lacey?

message 1113: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Barney Miller for sure. Just one word explains it all...Fish!

Battlestar Galactica or Buck Rogers?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Tough call. Buck Rogers had Twiki and Dr. Theopolis while Battlestar Galactica had Starbuck swearing with "Frak!" but since I was 12 when Buck Rogers finally went off the air, I grew an appreciation for the tight white body suits. I'll say Buck Rogers wins this round.

message 1115: by ♥Lisa♥ (new)

♥Lisa♥ | 1034 comments Attack of the Killer Tomatoes since I never saw blue velvet

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments I have to be in the mood for a drama but I can always do a comedy.

American Idol or Dancing with the Stars?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments American Idol. I prefer to listen to music than watch a professional dancer try to carry an amateur.

Since our ask an author did not show this week, I'll post one of my questions here.
If you had to give up one which would it be:
A: You can never have chocolate again. No chocolate cake, no chocolate milk, no hot chocolate, no cocoa roasted almonds, NO CHOCOLATE ANYTHING.
B: You can never drive again. A driver will come and take you where you want to go at no cost to you. There would be little inconvenience and you would no longer have to concern yourself with vehicle maintenance but you would know that you were eternally dependent on someone else to go anywhere.

message 1122: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I would choose B- never drive again! As a mom of 3 who chauffers them everywhere, all the time, I would like to be chauffered for a change- free will be damned! Plus I would NEVER give up chocolate!!

Milk Chocolate or Dark Chocolate?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Dark all the way. You know what they say? The darker the berry the sweeter the juice. (except there really isn't a chocolate berry and dark chocolate is not sweeter. Otherwise the phrase fits perfectly.)

blueberries or strawberries?

message 1124: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Photojim wrote: "Dark all the way. You know what they say? The darker the berry the sweeter the juice. (except there really isn't a chocolate berry and dark chocolate is not sweeter. Otherwise the phrase fits pe..."

cool whip or reddi whip?

message 1125: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Cool whip. I think Reddi whip leaves a funny aftertaste sometimes, or maybe I'm just putting it on the wrong thing. Did I just say that?

Umbrella or Rain Coat?

message 1126: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Rain Coat (is that another sexual reference?)

mustard or ketchup?

message 1127: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Umbrella, it's so much easier. A rain coat is just stiff and wet. Did I just say that?

Jim-you're right on the money with the darker berry quote ;-)

Camping: tent or camper? (I don't even camp I just couldn't think of anything else)

message 1128: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Ponytails

And camper- I don't camp but a camper seems much more civilized and comfortable than a tent!

Online ordering or shop in store?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments for clothes must be shop in stores. It's all about how it fits. Otherwise it's a toss up.

swimming in a lake or pool?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments No Fran, you have to pick one. That is the name of the game.

I prefer swimming in a pool if I'm hanging out with the kids but love swimming in a lake if hanging out with friends on a boat.

wearing white socks with sandals or two different plaid patters.

message 1134: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments OK, OK- living next door to the convicted murderer. I have 3 kids, I can't choose the sex offender!

What is a plaid patter?

message 1135: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments You suck! I'll take the mismatched plaid and I'll wear it when I invite my murdering bastard of neighbor over to swim in the pool. At least he'll have a better chance of controlling himself. (as opposed to the sex offender, not you)

Aging parents or aging in laws?

message 1136: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments I'm sorry I meant Jim sucks... I was late :)

Dress or Jeans?

message 1143: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Hmmm, dress. I wear one everyday to work so I'm more comfortable really. I don't like my jeans anyhow, or rather, don't like how I look in them. Sigh!

Male or female news anchors?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments I prefer to look at a female news anchor but listen to the deep resonant voice of some men. However, since I only have to choose one, I'll go with female news anchor.

*Note as to the sex offender/murderer question. It really depends on the circumstances of each. I know someone I went to high school with who is a registered sex offender. When he was 22, he and his wife were arrested for having sex on the golf course at the country club at a wedding reception. Probably wouldn't have even been charged but Susie was D&D and punched the cop. Public Indecency puts you on the list for life in PA.

People who see the world in B&W or people who believe everything is a shade of grey?

message 1145: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Shades of grey. You just have to have an open mind.

Coworkers who don't bother to say good morning or ones who gossip your ear off?

message 1146: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments I am a shades of grey person for sure. That's what makes some of these choices so difficult, there are always circumstances to consider. Thats a pretty harsh story, I should probably check public indecency laws here is NJ. Not that I plan on tip-toeing through the tulips in the buff, but one never knows...

Being caught in an extremely compromising, maybe even unnatural position with your significant other by your grandparents or Catching them in the same position.

Fran | 12278 comments Photojim wrote: "I prefer to look at a female news anchor but listen to the deep resonant voice of some men. However, since I only have to choose one, I'll go with female news anchor.

* Jim- when I answered the question, in my mind the murderer was a woman who killed her husband in self-defense after a long battle with his monsterous behavior and felt she had no other choice- kill or be killed. Sounded much better to me to live next to her that a registered sex offender.

Rather lke people who see the world in shades of grey. I am always trying to figure a way to fit a situation to meet my needs. Can't stand when someone says it has to be a certain way and that's that.
