HullabalooLane | 1 comments Hi, I'm Catherine- haven't been on GR for a while :) Linda Howard is one of my favourite authors and one that I always re-read- especially when in need of a pick me up. My favourites (can't pick just one) are Mackenzie series, Open Season and both Blair Mallory books.

Fluteak94 Hi! I'm relatively new to the GR community. I've been using the site to check up on all the books that catch my interest

message 419: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments Welcome Fluteak94. You have caught my interest, do you play the flute? Whether you do or don't welcome to our group. I hope you enjoy this group. I know I love it! If there is anything you want or need let me know. I am one of the moderators. So nice getting to know you.

message 420: by Fluteak94 (new)

Fluteak94 I do play the flute! I'm from India so I play the wooden flute

message 421: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments How cool? It amazes me that several of my friends are from India. I know it is the second largest country, but a few years ago getting to know people half way around the world was unheard of.

message 422: by Harika (new)

Harika (harykals) | 1 comments I have got hooked onto her writing from when I read After the Night. That book I read about a million times, I just love it, the protagonists and their characterization. It wasn't much of a suspense really but the relation between the two of them just made me turn pages. And then I moved on to Mr. Perfect and that did it for me, I just couldn't expect something like the profound piffle that has been spouted in this book from the same author that gave me a sweet book like After the Night. Anyway, I would still like to give her a benefit of doubt and try on one more... any suggestions?

❤️ Dorsey aka Wrath Lover Reviews ❤️ Harika wrote: "I have got hooked onto her writing from when I read After the Night. That book I read about a million times, I just love it, the protagonists and their characterization. It wasn't much of a suspens..."

Not sure those are two of her best! You can try:
Death Angel by Linda Howard
Cry No More by Linda Howard
Open Season by Linda Howard
Now You See Her by Linda Howard
Kill and Tell (CIA Spies, #1) by Linda Howard

message 424: by Eve (last edited Jan 29, 2016 12:03AM) (new)

Eve (everf) | 815 comments Harika, if you liked/enjoyed reading After The Night, then you should check out these books:

Shades of Twilight by Linda Howard
Heartbreaker (Kell Sabin, #3) by Linda Howard
Duncan's Bride (Patterson/Cannon Family, #1) by Linda Howard
Mackenzie's Mountain (Mackenzie Family, #1) by Linda Howard
Against the Rules by Linda Howard (shorter "oldie")

I think above books were with the most similar plot style to After The Night.

First off I want to welcome you to our group. I think it is pretty special. As far as books that are really good IMO it would be easier to say which books are not that great, but then again their will be as many different opinions as their are people in this group. I think the real adventure will be to read them. This month I will be reading Midnight Rainbow. Come with us and enjoy the read.

message 426: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Hesler Hello my name is Tammy. I am also a big Linda Howard fan and have been every since I read the book After the Night I was hooked!

message 427: by Marika (new)

Marika | 78 comments Thank you so much for your nice welcome Dee.
I was guided to Goodreads and LHBJ group by my friend Eve and I enjoy this group very much. Its so much more fun to read books and discuss them with other members :-)

I really enjoy reading romance, romantic suspense, mysteries. Not very fond of historicals. My favorite auhtors are: Linda Howard, Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Kay Hooper, Christina Dodd, Agatha Christie, Jane Austen, if to name only some authors. But I have very special fondness for Linda Howard's books - her books always manage to hook me from the beginning and won't let me go till I have finished. I wonder what her secret is?

Maira (mairaz) I cannot contain my excitement, I got on GR a few years back but didn't utilized the site. I basically started fresh now and am discovering 'groups'. Linda Howard group is just too much of a sensory overload. I know everyone claims to be her biggest fan, I am an honest one. There are novels by Linda that I cry because of the joy they bring me and there are those that I feel weren't enough to put her signature on. But the respect I have for her writing and imagination, the way her stories envelope me (I would buy anything by LH) .... enough said. Great to be part of this group.

So happy to have new members in our small but cozy group.

Every month we read one book by Linda Howard as Book Of Month and discuss it here. We also read one Non-Linda Howard book each month. All books are nominated by the members, so please suggest and discuss books here.

I felt the same way when I discovered Linda Howard's books. She's one of the authors I love to reread and this place is right place to discuss her books with another Junkies.
Sofs, have you read White Lies?
White Lies is the Book of The Month under discussion, please drop by and leave your comment :)

Not yet! I'm currently reading Mr. Perfect, I'm only a few pages in and I've already laughed so much. I'll read White Lies afterward though!

Oh, Mr. Perfect is one of my favorites. it wonderful book to reread when you want some good laugh. As its romantic suspense, then some really bad things will start to happen soon...so you want to cry together with the heroine.
But this book has some of the best bantering between the h/H I've ever read. Enjoy, Sofs!
I think you will like White Lies too. Its part of the Rescue series but its totally standalone book, so you can easily start with book #4 and you haven't missed anything.

❤️ Dorsey aka Wrath Lover Reviews ❤️ Welcome Sofs!! Mr. Perfect is one of favorites, enjoy!!!

I loved it so much! Do you guys have any suggestions about what I should read next?

message 443: by Eve (last edited May 18, 2016 02:31AM) (new)

Eve (everf) | 815 comments I would suggest White Lies. We discuss this book in here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Another must-read book by Linda Howard: Open Season
I think that everyone who love Mr Perfect will love this one also. Hint: Lots of funny bantering between the h/H but also suspense and dangerous situations.

Generally I've liked most of Linda Howard work. So just go through her booklist, discover and enjoy :)
