SOLVED. 3 teenagers survive a brain shortage that turns humans into zombies [s]

Hello! I am looking for the title of a book I read awhile ago. This might contain SPOILERS. If I remember it is about a girl who is in the woods when something happend to the world and somehow it "short circuits" the majority of peoples brains and they become zombies but I dont think they use that term. The girl meets up with an older boy and a young bratty kid and start to find a good place to live. Some people take the brat and the girl and boy get seperated. She ends up in a small town that seems a little off. Another boy falls for her and helps her escape but as she escapes she runs into a group of the "zombies" who have gotten smarter and can now use weapons. Its not a terrible old book only written within the last 5 years or so but I can remember it and my google skills havent returned any luck. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
