Hmm, well, with a million bucks I'd probably do something boring and sensible like put it away for my kids' college tuition and buy a house so we don't have to have a mortgage! LOL Then I'd blow the rest on a huge across-the-globe vacation with lots of pampering and delish foods!! =)

Well Julie my biggest fear is something bad happening to my children but I tend not to think of those things though. And if I had a million bucks I'd pay off my mortgage, get my family out of debt and travel a little maybe. Ooh it would be lovely wouldn't it !!

It used to be watching Desperate Housewives :) Now...I'd say having a glass of wine, a bunch of olives and cheese and either Vampire Diaries or a chick flick on TV or reading one, with nobody else around.

I have a house full of teen girls, I'd be right there with you for a ladies night! :)

A. Scream for help until someone comes.
B. Run over and kick him in his baby-makers.
C. Ask the tall dark and handsome man next to you to intervene until you forget all about the old lady and go for a cocktail
D. Faint
E. Sic you dog on his baby-makers

ok i met my husband through a friend she took me to pick up some speakers cus she was having her birthday party and we went into a garage and there was two guys sleeping and she woke them both up, and i found my husband cute and vise versa LOL then the day we officially got together we went on a group picinic and he smoked at the time and i was watching him looking around for something and i said to him are you looking for your cigarette and he said yes how did you know and i said i just did and its over there cus i just walked past a cigarette on the floor and after that we spent the whole day of the picnic together and we have been together now for 12 years LOL not very romantic but its our story and i love it!!:)

not romantic???...you got to be kidding!
i mean its just like the books...girl goes with her best friend on some errand; meets this cute guy and they hit it off immediately. i mean you just knew what he was looking for without him telling! that's just so awesome.
Hope you guys didn't encounter any problems like our YA hero/heroine do....did you??
Well I met my husband about 8 1/2 years ago. I was on this dating site called Lavalife, just thought I'd scope it out for a while and meet people. Anyways, I was out with my cousin down at Darling Harbour, Sydney, on a Saturday night, and apparently my hubby spotted me there, but never approached me at all. Keep in mind I never saw him or knew he existed. Then a week later, I get an MSN message from him. We started chatting for about a month or so on the net, and then we finally decided to meet. We went on several dates I'm talking months before he ever kissed me, and talk about the tension...I just wanted him to ravish me but he took his time...I totally loved that about him. He later told me that when he spotted me that one night, he wanted to approach me but didn't have the nerve. Then he was up late one night watching tv and saw an add for lava life. He went on and just was browsing through and spotted my photo on there. He instantly recognised me, then hacked into my MSN cause he wasn't a member of lava life and the rest is history. It was FATE! I totally believe that we were meant to meet and he had the opportunity in person, but didn't take it, then FATE intervened and brought us together. It's totally amazing. We've been together ever since and married for 5 years.

Oh my ghosh...that's so freaking awesome!I mean this is totally YA material.you should write about it.God girl...you do realize you have lived a living YA fantasy....you are one lucky girl! This was surely fate.

Oh gosh, I really don't have a good story. Is that sad? I will tell you how I met hubby, tho. When I was in my early 20s, I always had a boyfriend. Finally, at 26, I decided I needed to be single for a while. I dated all kinds of guys for 2 years. Mostly meeting through friends, at parties or in bars. Nothing serious at all. At 28 I decided I was done with dating...it was getting annoying. But I didn't have a steady boyfriend. My friend came to me one day and told me she found a dating site. YOu could sign up for free for a week. So I did. And I met lots of people, so I paid to join for three months. The second week I was a memeber, I found a guy I matched with and started emailing him. We chatted a lot for about two weeks (email, AOL IM). One day he wanted me to call him, so I did. We were on the phone for 4 hours. I don't remember most of what we talked about, but I do remember telling him I needed a fire extinguisher for my kitchen (he was a volunteer fire fighter so that's probably how it came out). Neither of us wanted to hang up. We talked a few times more on the phone and finally set a day for a date. He came to get me and I would not let him upstairs, b/c I didn't know him, so I went down to meet him. There he was, in the doorway, holding up a fire extinguisher! LOL! I was so surprised he remembered! I thought this was very romantic, of course. Things just kind of snow balled from there. I stopped dating anyone else from the site and closed my account. When we were dating for 6 months, he told me he needed to go to the dentist after work so he would be late. I had been house hunting in NJ (I was living in Brooklyn, NY at the time). I was trying hard to figure out how I would afford a place by myself, laying out my budget and all. I waited for him and he brought home fast food for a meal. When we were cleaning up he told me he was thinking at work about how I might be able to afford to buy a house and he came up with a solution. When I asked what, he got down on his knee and proposed to me with a beautiful ring (in a pear shape, my favorite, which I had told him months before in another conversation; gosh this guy had a good memory!). I was shocked. We had never talked about it, ever. I was actualy speechless and just nodded my head and said "uh huh"! LOL! And that's my story!

Wow! Love that you and Beatrice listed your fav classics. These are in my tops, too, but no one mentioned JANE EYRE. (Sad face.) Still, I'm right there with you in your other top classics. :)

Love your pics here, too! Rose Hathaway is my favorite heroine in YA. Of course, there's still a lot MORE for me to read.

Wuthering Heights
Jane Eyre
Pride and Prejudice
Charlottes Web
Anne of Green Gables
Black Beauty
Little Women

That is a cute story, man. The fire extinguisher is awesome. It's the little things like that to look for. I am originally from Brooklyn, too by the way. I live in Staten Island now.
I loved reading about all of your stories. This is definitely my favorite group, not only because we share a love of similar books, but also because this group has some of the nicest people. :)

LOL, great question, though my answer doesn't have an amazing whirlwind romance in it! I was a single mom with a 5-year old when I met my hubs, ironically enough it was at one of me and my girlfriend's favorite local dive bars. He was there with some friends of her family, and we kind of just started chatting and hit it off. I was way over the non-committal younger guys that I'd been wasting precious time on, and he was an older, more settled and mature guy that I enjoyed spending time with. One thing led to another, he and my son hit it off, and 10 years later we're four kids (and one stepdaughter for me) into a lifetime together! Not a lot of romance in the story, but that's why I love getting swept away in these books! LOL
