Hmm, well, with a million bucks I'd probably do something boring and sensible like put it away for my kids' college tuition and buy a house so we don't have to have a mortgage! LOL Then I'd blow the rest on a huge across-the-globe vacation with lots of pampering and delish foods!! =)

Supernatural is my most recent dirty pleasure. I have been staying up WAY past my bedtime and forgoing reading to watch those Winchester boys! YUM YUM!

LOL, I have Christian Grey on the brain, b/c when I first read "dirty pleasure", reading was NOT tops on my list....

we all love love stories that's why we read(actually we love reading) YA books. But hey even more amazing are real life love stories...so my question to you girls is to tell me your real life love stories.it could be anything(how you met your husband/boyfriend?; some crush you once had or still have?). just remember it has to be real life and not a book boyfriend crush..AWAITING YOUR REPLY

i mean its just like the books...girl goes with her best friend on some errand; meets this cute guy and they hit it off immediately. i mean you just knew what he was looking for without him telling! that's just so awesome.

Oh gosh, I really don't have a good story. Is that sad? I will tell you how I met hubby, tho. When I was in my early 20s, I always had a boyfriend. Finally, at 26, I decided I needed to be single for a while. I dated all kinds of guys for 2 years. Mostly meeting through friends, at parties or in bars. Nothing serious at all. At 28 I decided I was done with dating...it was getting annoying. But I didn't have a steady boyfriend. My friend came to me one day and told me she found a dating site. YOu could sign up for free for a week. So I did. And I met lots of people, so I paid to join for three months. The second week I was a memeber, I found a guy I matched with and started emailing him. We chatted a lot for about two weeks (email, AOL IM). One day he wanted me to call him, so I did. We were on the phone for 4 hours. I don't remember most of what we talked about, but I do remember telling him I needed a fire extinguisher for my kitchen (he was a volunteer fire fighter so that's probably how it came out). Neither of us wanted to hang up. We talked a few times more on the phone and finally set a day for a date. He came to get me and I would not let him upstairs, b/c I didn't know him, so I went down to meet him. There he was, in the doorway, holding up a fire extinguisher! LOL! I was so surprised he remembered! I thought this was very romantic, of course. Things just kind of snow balled from there. I stopped dating anyone else from the site and closed my account. When we were dating for 6 months, he told me he needed to go to the dentist after work so he would be late. I had been house hunting in NJ (I was living in Brooklyn, NY at the time). I was trying hard to figure out how I would afford a place by myself, laying out my budget and all. I waited for him and he brought home fast food for a meal. When we were cleaning up he told me he was thinking at work about how I might be able to afford to buy a house and he came up with a solution. When I asked what, he got down on his knee and proposed to me with a beautiful ring (in a pear shape, my favorite, which I had told him months before in another conversation; gosh this guy had a good memory!). I was shocked. We had never talked about it, ever. I was actualy speechless and just nodded my head and said "uh huh"! LOL! And that's my story!

It was my second day checking into my new duty station, I was in the USMC working as as Airframes mechanic. There was someone new the Airframes desk, his first words to me were "Can I help you?" I was 26 and a single mother. For about a month we would talk a little here and there, he was going through a divorce and had a son my daughters age. We worked well together. About a month later, I asked him to the Marine Corps Ball, since neither of us had a date. I didn't expect him to say yes, but he did. Since we had never been in a social atmosphere together, just work, we decided to hang out one night to break the ice. Well...the ice shattered in a million pieces. From that night on we were almost inseperable, but we didn't want anyone at work to know. Little did either of us know, but one of our coworkers, who was a big goof ball, overheard a phone call between us but kept it secret. 3 weeks later he asked me to marry him, and I said yes. A week later, after saying to keep it all quite, he told EVERYONE. Yes, my husband really stinks at keeping secrets. We were married about a year later and a month after being married I became pregnant with the twins.

I loved reading about all of your stories. This is definitely my favorite group, not only because we share a love of similar books, but also because this group has some of the nicest people. :)

LOL, great question, though my answer doesn't have an amazing whirlwind romance in it! I was a single mom with a 5-year old when I met my hubs, ironically enough it was at one of me and my girlfriend's favorite local dive bars. He was there with some friends of her family, and we kind of just started chatting and hit it off. I was way over the non-committal younger guys that I'd been wasting precious time on, and he was an older, more settled and mature guy that I enjoyed spending time with. One thing led to another, he and my son hit it off, and 10 years later we're four kids (and one stepdaughter for me) into a lifetime together! Not a lot of romance in the story, but that's why I love getting swept away in these books! LOL
