Yep, I would have known that too! ;-) But you beat me to it. So few times I actually know any helping answers here!
Thanks Nadine! I know! The one that usually comes up is actually 'The Giver' for me - people post about it, I'm like "OH oh! I know it!" and then a dozen people have already ID'd it in the first ten minutes before me :) But every little bit helps.
Well to be honest I don't mind too much being beaten as it means someone else already helped and I get a nerdy little kick out of knowing someone looking for a book got the right tip. "never let me go" is a great book by the way, didn't like the movie though...
oh I didn't even realize there was a movie. I think so much was internal thoughts that a movie would be hard to do.
Keira Knightley is in it, she plays that friend of the protagonist. (Ruth?)To me the atmosphere of the movie was all wrong, too heavy and designed, they seemed to put all their attention on that but forgetting the story. I enjoyed the light moments in the book but an underlaying threat, danger, or just something seriously wrong but mixed with normal moments and emotions.

SPOILER>>>>>
Turns out she was part of a (continuing) project of cloned people created for "spare parts" and a lot of the school and the art etc was people against using clones trying to show that they actually had souls and could love etc.
