Disambiguation on authors with one name?

The artist should only have one entry - this one. http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
I've edited all the single name Michelangelos off of his books, so Michelangelo (single name) is now only the musician. I'm not seeing any other Michelangelos (single name).
Thanks for that. I also fixed the one work where he was listed as Buonarroti Michelangelo. Guess that the single name disambiguation question can now wait. (until Prince (or the artist formerly known as... )) starts publishing his poetry
I had an issue with a Goodreads Librarian removing an author from a book (Angie Fox, co-author with me and four others on World of Viruses from University of Nebraska Press). Because "my" Angie Fox was not "her" Angie Fox (author of paranormal scifi), this librarian summarily removed the name of Angie Fox from the book's record and messaged everyone who had marked the book to read saying "This is not Angie Fox's book!" Seriously, Goodreads?! You need a MUCH better screening process for your librarians. She hasn't restored the author to the listing or replied to my message. Apparently she didn't even Google the book's title to check out the metadata before deleting Fox's name.
You should definitely send this information to the GR staff via the 'contact us' link. That kind of abuse of librarian privileges should get them revoked!ETA: I would recommend starting a new thread to ask for the book to be fixed (please give a link to the correct book.)

I just stumbled upon this issue:There is a german authors duo who call themselves "Auerbach & Keller", with the ampersand and no first names. There is not much information about them, it is not even proven that they really are two authors. Some of their books were listed under that name, but now somebody has separated them to two separate author profiles. The one for "Auerbach" has their 3 books listed and only one by another "Auerbach", but the profile for "Keller" has 48 works listed, when there only should be 3.
Should they have been separated after all? And if so, how to differentiate between one "Keller" and others, if there is only one name? Any help would be appreciated.
I was wondering about message 5 and librarian messaging "everyone" shelving in case was a bug in the message feature (supposed to limit how many pm's you can send at a time so sounded like a lot of work). Currently book does show only 1 shelving; but, no clue if that's because message from librarian had members unshelving. Odd that lthe book authors haven't added to their own shelves.
Could it be that "Blood sugar" and "Blood Sugar: The Family" were written by a different Michael Moore? As per google search it seems to me, that this is not the author of "Stupid White Men". I guess we should remove the works and put them to the correct other Michael Moore.Do you agree?

The SF one is now Michael^^Spence where ^ is a space, Michael 2 space Spence.I made and am moving all the Sword and Sorcery books over to the new profile; have a few more Librarian notes to make explaining the two profiles.
Post any time any books I miss stating that they need to be credited to "Michael two space Spence"

Any suggestions on the issue I mentioned in message 9?
I'd like to clean up the various books listed under author Peter DeVries/Peter De Vries. "De Vries" with a space is how he actually spelled his name, but his titles show up under both version. The additional wrinkle seems to be that if you put a space in his last name, then when it's alphabetized in lists it is listed under V (Vries, Peter De). Is there a way to add the correct space without it alphabetizing under V instead of D?

Unfortunately, no. I merged the two versions into the correct spelling.

Hello,I recently noticed that my novel, Neverlove, is being linked to a different Angela Brown:
Neverlove - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...
Incorrect Angela Brown - http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
It should be linked to me, the correct Angela Brown - http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
Once corrected, that should show two distinct works under my author page.
What would be needed to get this corrected please?
I've fixed it Angela.FYI you are Angela^^^^^Brown, ^ = one space, so you are Angela 5 space Brown.
You'll need to know this if you add/edit your own books, so they'll show up on your profile ;)
Or just ask here :)
Thanks so much. Guess there are a number of Angela Brown names to work with.I really appreciate the uber-fast response as well :-)
This thread seems to have become the all-disambiguation-requests thread, which is potentially quite confusing.

While I've got no real problem with his having two entries (since most people know him simply by the one name) There is also a musician known simply as Michelangelo and his work is comingled when one pulls up all the works under Michelangelo.

Is there an approved method of disambiguating an author with only a single name?
