Rachael I love this book but I was so shocked. I can't wait to read the second one I'm just secretly hoping it all turns out to be wrong... Without giving anything away, can anyone tell me if it does turn out to be a big mistake or if its true??? I'm sure you, who have read this will know what I am talking about with out spelling it out, as I don't want to spoil it for those who have not read it yet.. =)

Claudia I'm going to read the second one also...This book still is sticking with me and I read this one last year. So you know a book has be that good for me to be.

Rachael I'm excited to read the next one to but 'Rapture' is being released tomorrow and I've been waiting for that since last year so I have to read that one first. As soon as I am finished I will be buying the 'City of Ashes!'

Emily If your talking about what I think you are then yes, it isn't a mistake, but really complicates everything. I think you should read it because it is sort of hard to explain without spoilers.

Rachael I can imagine. Tbh I don't think I have a choice, I HAVE to read on! I just couldn't stop thinking about the end! Made me so sad lol

Makenna This book is so intriguing, romantic and amazing. This twist really makes the book, keep reading. Everything works out in the end the way it should be.
Read: City of Bones - City of Ashes - City of Glass.
I tried to read the sequel after these three, but it ruined it for me, and i did not finish the fourth book.
The third one ends perfectly, and you will be satisfied. Hope you love them as much as i do! :)

Rachael Aw thanx for that - I've just purchased 'Rapture' it shouldn't take long to finish that and I will be straight out buying 'City of Ashes' I Love finding a good series, just not when I get to the last one!

Megpie I had a friend who quit reading because of this "twist" because she was such a Jace fan. However, trust me, it all works out in the end. ;)

Rachel just read it becasue i dnt want to spoil it!!! this is my fav series so u will enjoy not knowin the truth!!

Rachael Oh I'm intrigued now even more :) did your friend not pick it back up again Meagan? I can't not read on!

I agree completely.

Don;t listen to them. Read City of Fallen Angels and City of Lost Souls. they're good too.

Rachael I probably will tbh because even when I don't like a series I'm forced to want to know how it ends anyway... Hopefully I will agree and enjoy them both as much as I enjoyed the first and, hopefully will, enjoy the second and third!

Rachael Just been on the Waterstones website reading the synopsis of 'City of Glass' and on there it says, and quote, "This title is the third and final instalment in the bestselling urban gothic fantasy" I think Makenna, this is probably why you could just leave it there as thats exactly where she intended to leave it. I wonder if she carried on due to popular demand..

miguel Glad you love it! :D

Me too the next book is The City of Ashes

Katerina Sigh... I know I just finished the 5th book this week and just be ready, because this series has so many twists and turns. This one is just the beginning. ;)

Rachael Ohhhhhhh how very interesting :) hehe!
Just finished City of Ashes (I'm trying to take my time with them because they are SO adictive!) I'm stopping myself from picking the third one up tonight but it's soo tempting!! I'm going to have to make sure I have the fourth and fifth before I finish the next!

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ (view spoiler)

message 21: by Anna (new) - rated it 5 stars

Anna Turns out it's a big story mixed with lies, confusions and all. Just read until the 3rd one to find out the real story.

Rachael Ok so as it turns out it was far to tempting and I'm now half way through the third book! :)

Rachael 2014?! I'm sorry, I have to repeat.2014??! No way. Oh its gonna kill me... I'm 404 pages in and still have the fourth and fifth book to read but that is in no way shape or form enough to last me till 2014! I must admit tho, I am loving it!!
Best thing about me, however, is I have the ability to forget very easily. Which basically means I have a crap memory so I find it very easy to re-read my favourite books.. I have my shelf of books, all of which, I will read again! This series will be read again ;)

it was originally a trilogy, but she had planned out a series of stories with simon as the main character but they grew into CoFA etc...so you can see the last three books as almost a separate trilogy...i remember it says on her site

Rachael Ah right that explains that one then. Are they as good though? And whats CoFA and also what are the Infernal devices like? Are they any good?

Josey You reaaaaally should read City of Fallen Angels and City of Lost Souls, too! REALLLLLLLLLLLYYY!

Rachael Haha.. Really really??

Rachael I've just ordered both of them from Waterstones. I just hope they don't take to long to get here, I only have 100 pages left to read and I'm trying to drag them out!

Rachael Mel - Are any of the characters in The Infernal Devices from the Mortal Instruments? Or is it a different story line?

Rachael Oh don't think I've read about Tesse yet. Well, I will have to have a look into the TID because I love Magnus's character! Cheers Mel :)

Rachael Anything to prolong the series and I'll be happy ;)

Farida I love the book but hated the ending of City of bones feel so sorry for Clary

Rachael The dark articles??! Another series to the mortal instruments and infernal devices? Do we know who that series will be based on?!

Rachael Farida, please keep reading! I was shocked by it at first but was compelled to read on and I'm so glad I did... Keep going!

Rachael Mel- clockwork princess? You are like my book guru. What is this?

Rachael Where do they come up with these story lines, I mean, wow! It sounds fab! So when I've finished with the mortal instruments, I then need to read the infernal devices and then in 2015 there'll be the clockwork princess series... Do I have that right?!

message 37: by Jade (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jade yup, to be honest, i enjoyed TID more then TMI.
ID tells you a bit about the background to some of the characters in MI. once you read ID you will better understand the excitement surrounding the upcoming DA series, especially the main character, emma carstairs.

clockwork princess isnt a series, its the final book in the ID series. the Dark Artifices are being released in 2015 with the first book Lady Midnight

Nidhi Thomas ^^^ Ok so well. After I read the TMI trilogy, I feel in LOVE with it. Seriously in love. I heard Cassandra has another series called TID and ofcourse I got excited and read it. Buutttt I wasn't very happy with the first book, and I reluctantly read the second and I am not going to lie..... I have never ever felt so strongly about a book before. Clockwork Prince just swept me off my feet with a river full of emotions that kept stabbing at me! I cried, I got angry, I laughed, I danced argh!!! It was BRILLIANT! But because of the first book TID and TMI are the same level of my liking! :D

message 39: by Jade (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jade i always thought ID characters were better than MI, i definetely liked tessa over clary.
and yes, i absolutely loved clockwork prince, it was soo good! i can read it over and over again. and each time it still makes me laugh. i cant believe i have to wait a year for clockwork princess!

Nidhi Thomas Same here! I thought it was coming out this year in November, I even prepared myself for it, and I check again and it says it coming out on March 2013! :( Oh well. But yes! I am very excited for DA! People are upset that she is still writing about Shadowhunters, but it's a different series so I am fine with that! But hopefully it doesn't drag on like 'House of Nights' *shiver* it never stops!!

Rachael I don't see the prob with still writing about shadowhunters. Cassandra Clare found something that worked and she's sticking with it and arn't we glad she is!
I've purchased the 4th and 5th MI books after that I'm really looking forward to starting the ID! I'm going to have to do my research first though to get them in order..
I'm glad you felt that passionately about the series, it is lovely when that happens!

Nidhi Thomas I am very glad! She has a very good imagination!

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ I like how she's not giving up on the shadowhunters. she should keep it for as long as she can....

she also has The Shadowhunter’s Codex coming out. THE REAL THING!!!
and another series, which people have mantioned already, and then she has all the manga coming out for ALL of her books. and then she has another book...Shadowhunters and Downworlders: A Mortal Instruments Reader which i have forgotten what it's about....

message 44: by Jade (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jade cant wait!

Rachael I'm going to try and find them all and in the right order.. There's so much to remember!

Rachael Ok so I think I've got this right, if I haven't please correct me and if I've missed any let me know..
THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS
City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost Souls and due out in Sept 2014 City of Heavenly Fire.
THE INFERNAL DEVICES
Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince and due out in March 2013 Clockwork Princess.
THE DARK ARTICLES.
Due out in 2015.
I couldn't find anything on The shadowhunters Codex so not sure if it's me not looking right or if it's not real??
Also there are loads of little books, titled like - City of Glasses 2.2. Are these little add ons or extracts from the books??

Rachael Also Shadowhunters and Downworlders will be published in 195 days - UK date!

message 49: by Jade (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jade the little stories are extra stories at the back of different editions of books. you can find most of them online, or links on goodreads

Rachael Thank you!
