Hello! My name is Stephanie. My husband, Jerry, and I are co-authors of the middle-grade fantasy series Scrolls of Zndaria. We published the first book, The Golden Wizard, last year. I'm excited to be part of this group as a way to stay on top of the popular MG books out there.
Hi- I'm Melissa. I work in a children's bookstore and have a passion for kid lit. I also published my first book recently. Your discussions will be very helpful when recommending books to customers at the store.

My name is Cris pasqueralle and I am a newly published author of middle grade fantasy series The Destiny trilogy with book one, Destiny Revealed currently available as an ebook on kindle and nook and will be in stores as a paperback this November.
Hi everyone! My name is Jaime Lee. I've always loved children's stories - my children would beg me to tell them stories at bedtime, and eventually I decided to write one of them down. I make an effort to write every day, and I'm really looking forward to getting into some interesting discussion here and finding new reading material! Nice to meet you all :)
Stephanie wrote: "Hi I am Stephanie, I am from Farmingdale Long Island. I am a Children's Librarian. I enjoy reading Children's and young Adult Novels."Hi Stephanie, Glad to have you aboard. I am looking for a librarian's input (I presume you are K-8, or similar) on my MG novel 'High Wind To Idaho' mentioned elsewhere. My concern is to get a handle on the range of grades this story both appeals to, and are ready for, in terms of understanding the way balloons work as explained to Yoshi by his uncle and later as he learned by flying it. My guess is 6th or 7th. I can send you a signed copy for your library.
You can send me your address at dalsource@verizon.net

Hello! I'm Kalli, and I'm currently a college student double majoring in English and Journalism. I'm a passionate reader as well as an aspiring writer. I read a lot of YA, but I love middle grade as well. I particularly enjoy fantasy and historical fiction :)
Hey everyone. My name is Victor, and I live in West Sussex, England. I am a web developer and also love to read and write. I recently released my first novel, Royal Institute of Magic, on Kindle. Quite an experience!I look forward to meeting fellow readers/writers of MG fiction here. =)
Welcome to Chris, Kalli, Victor, & Jamie Lee! Glad you've joined us. Look forward to seeing you on the threads : )
Ruby Holler is is a great MG book! Orphans, meanies, old folks, fresh country air and unexpected adventures!

Hi Everyone, I joined the group yesterday. I fell in love the MG books in 1995 when I was asked to teach a children's literature class. The professor who taught the class was on sabbatical, and I was new--I thought I got the fluff class.
For the next six months, I stayed up until 3 and 4 in the morning, studying theory and reading books. A crash course! I discover this wasn't a fluff class.
I also fell in love with children's literature, and especially MG lit. I taught that class for 13 years. I left teaching in 2010 and miss reading and discussing MG books.
So, when I saw this group, I joined immediately. I'm looking forward to discovering new books and joining the discussions.

Hi! I'm here because I love MG. I grew up quite sheltered, and MG books were a way for me to see the wider world and understand it. I loved the Northern Lights growing up and authors like Eoin Colfer, Anthony Horowitz and old ones like Dinna Wynne Jones who is one of my personal heroes! I'm also now an MG writer, so I've come full circle :)

Hi everyone. I'm Mandy and I'm a writer. I used to write for the kids' online game Webkinz and right now I'm working on my own middle grade book. I'm also looking for suggestions for books to read with my 9 year old son. He just finished the Harry Potter series and we're looking for something to fill the void!

Thanks, S.W. I think we may try the Kane Chronicles based on some of the suggestions I've seen. I loved the first Percy Jackson.

Mandy, I've only read the first book of the Kane Chronicles, thanks for the reminder that I have the other books sitting on my iPad to read :)

Mandy, Brian Jacques was our go-to series, along with Erin Hunter's Warriors books. Have fun reading together.
Oh thanks, Rebecca! I've never read Redwall but I've heard great things about it. We will definitely give that one a try.
Hi Jamie Lee! I've read the Narnia Chronicles myself but for some reason my son isn't interested in that series right now. Maybe because he's seen a couple of the movies.
I'm so happy to find a group dedicated to Middle Grade books. I taught 5th and 6th graders for 29 years before I retired because my novel, Call Me Lizzy, was published this year. I had a prize drawer full of MG books and tried to read each one before I put it in the drawer. I love them! I am anxious to hear titles of books MG readers are enjoying.

Hi! I worked as a marine biologist, got certified to teach, and now I write MG/YA science fantasy. I've always enjoyed reading both YA/MG and science fiction; together, even better. And I love the classics.
Hi all, My name's Julia and I've just joined this group and thought I'd introduce myself. I love Middle Grade fiction and always had my head buried in a book as a child. Now I've got two sons of my own, aged 12 and 10 and am on the look out for great reads. I'm a writer too. My first book will be available soon (Shadow Jumper) and is aimed at my favourite age group (10 +). I'm looking forward to some lovely chats and fantastic recommendations!
J.S. wrote: "Welcome, Julia! Congratulations on your book! What type of books do your sons like?"My older son is reading Harry Potter (later than his friends!). He's also into Skullduggery Pleasant. My younger son loves the Middle School books but he's also recently finished The Last Wild and The Dark Wild.

Hi, I'm Melissa, I have an 8 year old who reads almost as much as I do :) She is in second grade and is reading quite a bit above where she should be as far as reading level. My biggest issue is finding books that are challenging for her to read but aren't too much for her to comprehend. I'm hoping that I will be able to help others find new books for themselves or their littles and that I will be able to find some good stuff for my little. :)
